His true chastisement is only necessary when we're doing outright sin, things which we know better than to do. However, the Holy Spirit's correction is mostly gentle, and more often than not, a believer who is doing well is far harder on his or herself than God is. King David put it this way: "You have also given me the shield of your salvation, and your right hand upholds me. Your gentleness has made me great." (Psalm 18:35) It is his gentleness in his correction, and the loving manner in which it is administered that brings the necessary changes we need. That being said, there's nothing wrong in wanting or needing to have a tangible experience with God, especially in desperation or in times when we need his manifest presence to guide us when things seem unclear or chaotic. True, we won't always feel some tingly feeling, but an experience with Him that puts you on your face in reverence is never unhealthy.

I too burst into tears. Because Jesus would rather tell us how much He loves us than to show us what's wrong... I fell asleep crying but finally peace was ruling instead of the negativity. being damaged by fundamentalism, this is tranformative, i needed to hear this, ive been so had on myself and have backslidden because i believed 'I dont measure up' - self judgement and being told to repent daily, focusing on self negatives seems not of God, but the contrary.

If you select and select and keep on selecting but never dividing the word and seeking out the truth from scriptures which parallel it's application you are left believing a lie because you use human interpretation and logic of man without scriptural reasoning and revelation. The Word reveals itself. The passage is a passage on brotherly love and love of God. It describes the inner motives of persons enlightened by the Truth of God and how they choose to live before God and before men. It claims that in this way a sinfree life is possible and attainable through obedience to "the anointing" . Read the scripture not a verse in isolation. It tells you about Cain, it Always goes back to the "beginning" . It tells you about Satan (the accuser/Opposer) and says that he was "sinning from the beginning". Read the book, not a verse in isolation. It says the "darkness is passing away" . When does darkness pass is it not when light has come and entered and stays? It speaks about "the world and its desires pass away" when does this occur is it not when we are cleansed and made new by the Word of God? What then is John speaking about? He tells us about a purification that takes place when we walk in the light and fellowship with one another. He speaks about a love for your brother that is as strong as the love Christ has shown by laying down His life and a hate as strong as Cain's that envied his brother, deceived him and then murdered him for self-satisfaction. What then is John saying? Again, I implore you to read the book and not a verse out if its context. There is so much more to be said in this regard but here is not the place. Read the Word as the Holy Spirit the voice of truth to lead you into all truth, it is his good pleasure to give you the kingdom in all its fullness. Shalom✨🙏🏾

Thank you so much! I so needed this word... I stopped enjoying reading the word because I feel worse afterwards over the years...just feel like I couldn’t measure up... knew this was wrong but didn’t know what the missing link or connection with God ...always feeling condemned and confused instead of loved. Never heard it preached about how we can use the word to beat ourselves up instead of receiving the love He has for us ...I just need to know He loves me instead of me just judging myself all the time as in out of balance...skipping the scriptures about love, mercy and grace . Maybe I will be able to live others more deeply to !
Same here. It was just a checklist of my failures. Even though in my heart I wanted to be free from anything sinful. I lived in judgement while reading, and not receiving grace to change. Thank you Jesus, thank you Father God for clarity through Dan’s message.

christianity is not blind faith, your relationship with God will only ever be as strong as your knowledge of Him. The whole identity gospel is another gospel.

I'm no great theologian but surely the transformation is all about God's timing, His sanctifying work, the process that each individual goes through to walk the new life. Someone compared it to a onion where there are many layers and God strips away the layers that have shaped us pre Jesus to get to the core of who we really are in Him. Am I a better man than I was 15 years ago when I confessed Jesus as Lord and saviour?.....yes. is there stuff, scars that He is taking me through?....yes. transformation i believe is a process. Some have more scars than others that need dealing with.

Youre not an onion, you're a new creation. The deeper your hunger for holiness, the quicker your new man is gonna grow in the Lord. Your not your issues, unless you believe you are. You'll be whatever you believe by faith. If you use your faith to align with God's Word, His Grace is gonna go to work on growing you in Christ. He bore your scars, your pains, your issues. Unless you believe you still ate those things and nor the New Man he made you.

Yet another sermon from Dan that's socked me in that face. LOL When he said the part about not letting the past and what people did become our identity, it spoke to me (as it has in other sermons where he's said it) because I still tend to live in victim/why me mode as I have the most of my life; self pity is my automatic go-to (lifelong) because my mom was narcissistic and abusive, then when at school the kids made fun of me relentlessly and lowered my self esteem to near zero. STILL at 48 I'm struggling with that. I haven't allowed God to work on that in me yet although it feels like I tried to. But I'm now beginning to.

What the first person said is true. I've dealt with anxiety and sometimes still do. What helped was reading His word, watching a lot of teachings until they started to change me from the inside out and most importantly: see yourself the way God sees you. If i need to work, i always think "i can't do it but God believes in me so that means that i can through Him."
My guess from my experience with terrible anxiety is that your problem is with Trust. Faith comes by Love, the only way i got better is to seek God's Love for me, and getting his leading to be around safe people.
I was trapped in legalism too for years. It almost destroyed my marriage. Thank you Jesus for transforming me through Dan’s message and redeeming my marriage and my spirit. I was a Pharisee judging everyone, looking for sin in the people I went to church with, all the while judging myself everyday. Constantly failing, never living up because I was judged for my own judgement.
As we know truth is a person and Jesus told us to seek knock and ask ,communing with the Lord in prayer would seem to be a good way to get to know him who is the truth....

I stopped enjoying reading the word because I feel worse afterwards over the years...just feel like I couldn’t measure up... knew this was wrong but didn’t know what the missing link or connection with God ...always feeling condemned and confused instead of loved. Never heard it preached about how we can use the word to beat ourselves up instead of receiving the love He has for us ...I just need to know He loves me instead of me just judging myself all the time as in out of balance...skipping the scriptures about love, mercy and grace . Maybe I will be able to live others more deeply to !

Same here. It was just a checklist of my failures. Even though in my heart I wanted to be free from anything sinful. I lived in judgement while reading, and not receiving grace to change. Thank you Jesus, thank you Father God for clarity through Dan’s message.

I'm no great theologian but surely the transformation is all about God's timing, His sanctifying work, the process that each individual goes through to walk the new life. Someone compared it to a onion where there are many layers and God strips away the layers that have shaped us pre Jesus to get to the core of who we really are in Him. Am I a better man than I was 15 years ago when I confessed Jesus as Lord and saviour?.....yes. is there stuff, scars that He is taking me through?....yes. transformation i believe is a process. Some have more scars than others that need dealing with.

Youre not an onion, you're a new creation. The deeper your hunger for holiness, the quicker your new man is gonna grow in the Lord. Your not your issues, unless you believe you are. You'll be whatever you believe by faith. If you use your faith to align with God's Word, His Grace is gonna go to work on growing you in Christ. He bore your scars, your pains, your issues. Unless you believe you still ate those things and nor the New Man he made you.

Yet another sermon from Dan that's socked me in that face. LOL When he said the part about not letting the past and what people did become our identity, it spoke to me (as it has in other sermons where he's said it) because I still tend to live in victim/why me mode as I have the most of my life; self pity is my automatic go-to (lifelong) because my mom was narcissistic and abusive, then when at school the kids made fun of me relentlessly and lowered my self esteem to near zero. STILL at 48 I'm struggling with that. I haven't allowed God to work on that in me yet although it feels like I tried to. But I'm now beginning to.

What the first person said is true. I've dealt with anxiety and sometimes still do. What helped was reading His word, watching a lot of teachings until they started to change me from the inside out and most importantly: see yourself the way God sees you. If i need to work, i always think "i can't do it but God believes in me so that means that i can through Him."
My guess from my experience with terrible anxiety is that your problem is with Trust. Faith comes by Love, the only way i got better is to seek God's Love for me, and getting his leading to be around safe people.

I was trapped in legalism too for years. It almost destroyed my marriage. Thank you Jesus for transforming me through Dan’s message and redeeming my marriage and my spirit. I was a Pharisee judging everyone, looking for sin in the people I went to church with, all the while judging myself everyday. Constantly failing, never living up because I was judged for my own judgement.
