Soccerkid43 yeah you got the pads but comparing these tackles to a rugby tackles is like comparing a handgun to a sniper rifle in terms of power. In rugby all your tackles are trained to hit at crumble points in the body, aka back of the knees and the waist. You do any tackles like these and you will be thrown out of the game, or more likely stretchered out because both sides would kick the shit out of you for something like this. Plus the players in American Football are a lot faster than rugby players so the tackles have a much greater force behind them. There was meant to be an exhibition match of England’s rugby squad against an American football squad in the U.K. around a decade ago, but both sides went “Nah” after seeing the differences between them, the rugby players saying they didn’t like the look of those tackles and the American Footballers not liking the lack of padding with the way they hit.
