I love the intellect and communication skills of Rabbi Skobac.
He has taught me so much about my former religion (Christianity). I no longer feel guilty about questioning the authenticity of Christianity. I see so much clearer now.
I’m not a Jew but I feel kindred to the Jews.
All I can say is I now understand why religious Jews are persecuted,
    It all makes sense now.

I have always had a serious problem with the people who transcribed scriptures and it was painfully obvious that they would have been more than willing to "twerk" the scripture for politics goals and population control.
That is why I started listening to these lectures to begin with.
Thank you for you kindness in being willing to share these important lessons to non Jewish people. Shalom.

    • @JewsforJudaismCanada

The Torah never explicitly says "Abraham was the first Jew". He was called an Ivri (Hebrew) in Genesis 14:13. He was the progenitor of the nation of people who were initially called Israelites. Later, these people were referred to as Jews (Esther 2:5, 3:10, etc.) So putting two and two together, Abraham was the first person from the nation who would become known as Jews.

I think the problem with Christians is thinking that the Jews are God's chosen people..This makes them care about how Jews view them..As a Christian it is so pathetic to hear a so called Rabbi trying to disprove the existence of Christ..To me it shows that they cannot hear God..To me there is no difference between a Jew and a Muslim..They are both trying so hard to believe that there are the chosen..Truth be told we are all chosen by God and we are qualified through Grace

He's a great speaker I admire this rabb. But, it doesn't have to say that it will continue that's not really proof of anything because even the other books that were written before the 400 BC were written before that and years and years went by and other books was written so to say that you cannot have other books that's not really there is no ground for that. This historical Jesus have been a talk of centuries and centuries and centuries but when you study the life of this man who came with a tremendous message and he put the house of Israel in Check. He fits just like the other previous Prophet that God used to send to put the children of Israel in Check. This Jesus was a peacemaker in fact when you really look at the gospels when they try to question him with the Tanakh in the Torah he used to tell them okay so do what you just said these people was so religious yet just because you are religious if you don't follow the teachings you have no favor with your creator. I mean constantly tells them to keep the Commandments. Weather people like this Jesus or not whatever you want to call him one thing you have to admit this man was a different kind of individual and you could see how he was faithful to the teaching of the Tanakh especially the Commandments

This is a great topic for believers of both traditions, but we must go back to the sources. Dead Sea Scrolls are the most trustworthy source of extant scriptues and any discussion on the canon should include that.

Hashem has tested me many times and in the end it has only strengthened my faith in Judaism!
I was getting bombarded with Christian imagery throughout my day (it doesn't help i live in an overwhelmingly christian city 😅) and at one point a "Jesus loves you" bumper sticker gave me the same kind of reaction signs that led me towards Judaism gave me! A weird visceral reaction that i can only describe as... it felt like G-d speaking directly to me.
This left me confounded. I knew logically from everything I've learned that there is no way Christianity is more correct than Judaism. Judaism is the only thing that has ever truly made sense to me. So why this reaction?!
I had looked into Jews For Judaism before, so I went back to this resource because i knew they could easily provide Torah- AND logic-based evidence that Christianity is false.
That was several months ago, and since then I have learned so much more because it reawakened a hunger for knowledge in me.
So BH for all the tests, it has made me stronger and smarter. Unlike my ancestors before me I will not be led astray.

As a cradle holiday Catholic I have always wanted to learn more about Judaism and Torah. I argue with Protestants on why I don’t agree with their stance; however, I am still reading and learning.
I am looking for a local synagogue to do Torah lessons and learn more. There are a lot of traditions in Judaism I am learning about that I find beautiful.
I don’t feel like I’m truly in Church when I attend Protestant churches. Recent attendance to a Catholic Church (been at least 4 years) I was rather disappointed in talking to the lady in charge of children ministry how they used the “sorting hat” from Harry Potter in the school. I fell away at 12 years old when we were forced to read Harry Potter in Catholic School. I didn’t see it as right.
    Thank you for these videos.

A Christian should really read carefully about what is written in tenak. They need to take an unbiased view of what they think and go through the Hebrew scriptures and say oh that really isn't Jesus. Why has the church lied about it. Then they will drop Christianity faster than a speeding bullet. There's no logic in Christianity.

If you think about it unencumbered by religion, it is not logical that God would stop communicating with man in 450 BCE ! Why in the world, or even out of it, would this make any sense?
In fact, if that were true, that would be the biggest reason not to believe in God and the clearest indication that the whole story must be a myth.
A god who no longer cared or had the power to continue to speak to men, would be either asleep, dead or non existent.

Notice from 32:50 that Skobac leaps over the point of Galations 3:10-12 that to continue in the works of the law as a substitute for faith is to be under a curse. Why? Because: (1) God's plan of salvation is designed to include Gentiles who have no connection to the law, and (2) the law that relies on personal performance is destined to condemn the doer (because the law will ultimately prove them to be failures.) This is why the doers (law keepers) are under a "curse." Furthermore, the theological point that the apostle Paul makes (missed by Jews like Skobac) is that Abrahams faith PRE-DATES the law of Moses so that Salvation's exclusive "by faith" requirement can be applicable to Jew and Gentile alike through Abraham's example.
