One should ask the question, if Ukraine was defending the West, how would its air defences fare? Well, from what we can tell, the Tornado IDS or Mirage 2000 would not do very well, and neither would the F-16s or F-15s of NATO air forces, the EF2000 or Rafale or Gripen might do a bit better, but air superiority would be denied. Ukraine has the most capable air defence systems that any major nation has gone up against, and many forget that Ukraine was the second most important Republic in the USSR and actually had a good workshare of industrial production: in terms of status it punched above its weight (oh and three or four Soviet premiers were Ukrainian, one Georgian -Stalin- and only two were Russian: even Gorbachev is of Ukrainian origin). Another way to think of it is, if you go up against the independent Republic of Texas fielding F-15A/B and F-16A/B of the Cold War era, and the MIM-104A (early Patriot models) how would any air force including the USAF) fare against those systems and upgraded HAWK types?
The Russian Air Force has relied particularly heavily on its Su-35s to tackle Ukrainian fighters, with the aircraft continuing to be acquired in large numbers by the Russian Air Force and designed for air to air combat against far more formidable targets than those in Ukraine’s inventory. Not only is the Su-35 a significantly more modern fighter, using a phased array radar and 21st century avionics against Ukraine’s 1980s combat aircraft, but it is also from a much higher weight range meaning it can carry significantly greater firepower, larger sensors, and heavier longer ranged R-37M air to air missiles which have over triple the range of the R-27s carried by the MiGs. Although modern MiG-29 variants such as the MiG-29M could pose a challenge to Su-35s in air to air combat, the ageing Soviet-built variants used by Ukraine are effectively obsolete and have not seen their capabilities significantly improved since the 1980s. The Su-35’s main combat strengths include its extreme manoeuvrability, triple radars and extreme engagement range, which are not currently seen on any Western fighter classes. Having been widely used in combat in Ukraine, the aircraft were first allocated to an aggressor training unit in September 2022 reportedly to impart experience from the Ukrainian theatre. Deploying from airfields in both Russia and Belarus, the fighter class’ most widely praised engagement was its reported victory over Su-27s over Ukraine’s Zhytomyr region during which four of the older jets were shot down for no Russian losses. The way Su-35s have been deployed indicates it is not unlikely that the bulk of the MiG-29s shot down in recent air to air engagements were engaged by the aircraft. Source Military Watch Magazine

*Russian Su-57 Fighters to Now Serve as ‘Mothership Carriers’ For Miniature Drones* Small unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) have been developed to be carried by and operate alongside Russian Su-57 fifth generation fighter aircraft, according to an informed source cited by state media. "Mini-UAVs to be used for various purposes have been created for the Su-57, which the aircraft will be able to carry on an external sling and inside the fuselage, and drop in the air. It is planned that the fighter will launch several drones at once and control this group of drones," the source stated. The source elaborated that the UAVs will be able to launch air strikes, conduct electronic warfare, and provide reconnaissance, and will reportedly be dropped in groups by Su-57 units to break through enemy air defences. Doing so can capitalise on the Su-57’s high endurance and stealth capabilities, which allow each fighter to carry a considerable payload of smaller aircraft over long distances while masking its presence from enemy assets. The Russian Air Force is set to form its first full strength Su-57 squadron in 2024, with the fighters’ production rate having reportedly doubled in 2023 to an estimated 12 airframes per year. Su-57s have been deployed in combat from March 2022 for a range of roles, which have reportedly included strikes, air defence suppression, supporting electronic warfare efforts, and even beyond visual range air to air combat. Operations in Ukraine have made the Russian Air Force the only service in the world with experience operating fifth generation fighters in high intensity combat. The ability to serve as a drone carrier is the latest in a long line of new features announced for the Su-57, with a new communications suite secured by artificial intelligence reported in August, and new data links and radar absorbent fireglass technologies reported in the first half of the year. In the first week of November the fighter class was reported to have integrated a new class of radar evading cruise missile based on the Kh-101/102 carried by strategic bombers, which provides by far the longest air to surface engagement range of any tactical aircraft in the world at around 3500km using either conventional or nuclear payloads. Distinguish between a great aircraft and a poorly performing air force. If the price is right…..😊
Air defenses prevent Russian aircraft from having their way with ukraine wouldn’t even have to worry about that if they had a actual Air Force which Russia is struggling with 😂
This war hasn't ruined the reputation of the Su-35. In fact, this war has actually proven the lethality of the Su-35 considering it has scored numerous AA kills since the start of the invasion. Even Ukrainians have expressed immense fear for this jet.
One Ukrainian pilot have once said this about the Su-35.
“I wouldn’t even find him on the radar screen by the time he’s already launched a missile.”
Wow they shut down older Soviet jets, impressive😂
That was an Mi 8 helicopter pilot.
@@qwertyqwerty-zi6dr SU-35s has radar, range, range of missiles and maneuverability far better than any Western fighter jet. Anyone who wants to spend just a little bit of time informing themselves will find out that SU-35s is an entire class above all Western made fighter jets.
@@DipsAndPushups on papper Russia s weapons always looks better, but in a real fight it does not work how Russia said. Ukraine still has su 24,su 27 and mig29 after 2 years of war. Su 35 will never see f35 or f22 before those 5th gen jets will see su35
This is a lie, the Su-35 has not gotten a single confirmed air to air kill. But it at least 5 have been shot down, and those are only the proven shoot downs, Ukraine claims to have shot down nearly 10 Su-35’s
Either way it’s up against obsolete 1980’s era aircraft without any upgrades over the years. Ukraine’s Mig 29 and Su 27 effective radar range is about 100km and their max missiles range is 60km to 80km.
Even an F-16 Block 50 would have shot down Ukraine’s entire airforce 3 times over by now. Mig-29’s have a 6 wins to 18 losses air to air combat record against western aircraft. They got dominated in Iraq, Serbia and the middle East. The Su-35 has proven incapable of SEAD operations and incapable of dealing with a 40 year old fighter jet fleet.
Su-35’s themselves are just an upgraded version of the Su-27, which was already a technologically inferior aircraft to begin with when it first went into service
they already did
Like all Russian planes, the things are beautiful to look at .....thats about it compared to NATO aircraft that are advanced... it might aswell stay on the ground 😁
And don't they know it
The su35 is also advanced. You underestimate the flanker to you're peril.
@@Migthunder no its not. Its a flanker in a fancy suit. Everyone knows it 😁
@BazingaTing ah yes in a fancy suit whilst being better in everyway including thrust vectoring better avionics flight performance. But yk just in a suit you clown🤡.

Haven't lost 5 & even if they had they have built more than 5 in 2 years.
No such thing as total stealth American fighters. Just better detection technology is required.
No aircraft is invisible to detection, and no one has ever claimed that. That being said, "stealth" jets are way harder to detect than conventional 4th gen fighters, regardless of new detection methods.
Pointless video no information on what the enhancements are or how the 5 aircraft were allegedly lost.

Living in a reality of your own wishful thinking. Fact here is that the Ukrainian war has shown the U.S. led Nato to be now well behind in the arms race that it pretended to have won against the East.
@@saadzainuri2539 Why do you think the two lead Kinzhal scientists were sent to the gulag after its debut?
They probably simplified it, it is wartime production after all.
Not likely

Its such bad air Craft that india and china still use
And when did the Su 35 lose its reputation to begin with wise guy. Maybe when it chased away the raptor in Syria several times or when it crushed Ukraine's air force and air defences whether in their Soviet types at the beginning of the war or their Nato types since a year and a half ago. No other 4 generation jet comes even close to the Su 35. So maybe you need to recover your reputation not the Su 35.
Exactly
These clowns have no idea just how many missions these things are flying against a very competent and armed enemy.
You dont think it’s overrated?
Is that why the Egyptians cancelled their order because Irbis-E fell short to the Rafale’s ECM?
Is that why India and Algeria declined orders as well? Is that why India was able to put AESA radars on their SU-30s before Russia did?
Is that why modified Chinese J-11s and J-16s are considered far superior in Avionics, missile capabilities, and radar?
Is that why 20 countries have ordered and fight with the F-35, 8 with the Rafale, 6 with the Gripen, and 1 with the Su-35?
Is that why a Russian missile couldn’t shoot down an unarmed British RC-135?
I’m sorry that the propaganda machine has warped your world view, she’s a beautiful bird that can hold its own against Ukrainian Migs.. but it’s outclassed in literally every other way.
Feel free to educate me if you have a rebuttal, but these aren’t claims from RT or Hindustan times (cHaSeD aWaY a RaPtOr).. this is OSINT that anyone could look up.
Egypt ,as evident from its current position on Gaza, is under total US control and Israeli appeasement. This is why they conceded to their instructions to back away of the deal. As for Algeria it never declined the Su 35 on the contrary it continues to purchase them in addition to the larger beast Su 57. Get your facts right
I think russian still fly biplane nice to know russian have jet after seeing western media I still why union jack still not flying in red square. Then why british citizen are forced into poverty
4++ was always a joke but i think it might die to cheaper Mig29 variants rather than better jets.
What loses?😅😅
Essentially an Su-27 but heavily modernised. Itself is a good aircraft but in the modern space against stealth fighters it May struggle
How many tornados did we lose in operation Granny?
Its a junk like everything else.

😅 On Cripton planet S doesn't means S
S=Survivability. They made sure theres a chute in the seat and not just a cup of Putler-tea as they need to try to recover the pilots these days so they have someone to blame for the failure of getting blown out of the sky.
Don't worry for Russia, mind about yours
Su-35S soon to add F-16's to the list of the aircraft it has successfully engaged and destroyed in combat.
They scrapped that idea, and now they paint the tarmac with their planes outlined so pilots can get simulations during combat exercises.

*Russian Su-57 Fighters to Now Serve as ‘Mothership Carriers’ For Miniature Drones*
Small unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) have been developed to be carried by and operate alongside Russian Su-57 fifth generation fighter aircraft, according to an informed source cited by state media.

Where are these mini-UAV's?
The West only has one aircraft that can knock out the SU35 and that is the F22 raptor. Which is no longer manufactured and of the 180 built only 120 are still serviceable. As for the Eurofighter or the F35 fantasy, some people here need to go away and do their homework.
S200 and Patriots are knocking this plane out of the sky with impunity. The West doesn't need the Eurofighter of F35 to defeat this plane.
