Reminds me of when I sliced my thumb open on a flatty Gil, the only thing I had to stop the bleeding was my sweaty sock, by the next day I was in hospital with blood poisoning and a hand 3 times the size lol, thanks Rob
Hi Robbie. I am embarrassed by my little outburst recently. I normally don't put anything personal up but the situation calls for it. I recently lost my mother and the "black dog" took me over. I have been lashing out. We could not even see her and she died alone, with the nursing home in lockdown. I was finding it hard to cope ,and was as grumpy as a bear with a sore head. You did nothing wrong and copped it for no reason. Your channel has been a delight to me for years. I recently saw a shag with its feet caught in discarded fishing line and had to whack it on the head and have been contemplating giving the hobby up. So many people don't do the right thing. You are not included. I was approached by an intellectually disabled friend who want's to go fishing recently so I guess I will be dusting off the rods again. I re subscribed too! Cheers. Pleasant fishing!
We all have our dark periods mate, seems like yours has been very dark indeed. Takes a big person to front up and admit their part in some things. Well done and bless you for being that big person. I am truly grieved to hear that your mother passed, especially in the circumstances. I am sure no-one would judge you harshly for your reaction. I would still be hating the world. As an angler, I have seen many things that make me question the sport. Bait containers and other rubbish littering the rivers and lakes, line entangling a variety of animals, reptiles and birds. I have seen people kill snakes and lizards they mistook for snakes miles out on the river bank, when the snake was just trying to get away, because they might be a danger to the fisherperson. Plastic bags and beer cans, bottles and fast food boxes seem to be easy to carry into a fishing hole full, but impossible to carry out empty. The emptiness must weigh a lot. Instead of giving up, I try to mitigate the damage done by yobbo gits and carry a garbage bag with me, collect rubbish as I find it, clean up line and hooks and stuff I find, and in short, leave the holes better than when I arrived. Our very reason for going fishing, the fish, depend on it. Do not allow the turkeys to hold you down when you can soar with the eagles mate. Do your part to make up for those who are too selfish and blinded by their own glory to understand they are the problem. Love and best wishes to you and your family following your loss, and I hope you continue to come out of the darkness. It is hard sometimes. Fishing is a great outlet, so just enjoy the moments and let the days string themselves together from those.
Hey Phil, I'm really sorry to hear of your loss mate. That must have been so hard. We didn't ask for this covid shit. Please Phil, feel free to email me a robbiefishing@outlook.com any time, even with your phone number. I deal with literally hundreds of people each week, but if there is one guy that I would love to chat over the phone with it is you. I know you're a nice guy... I can just tell. I would just love to chat some time. I have so much that I would love to tell you about myself but like you, I don't want to out it here LOL Ansolitely apology excepted my friend.
Hi @robbiefishing , I remember growing up not far from the Edward river at Deni probably 20 odd years ago. Usually Sept/Oct when the river would rise into minor flood we would head down to a local sandbar alongside some grassy banks where nearly every night after school just before last light the Yellas would just go off especially on a shrimp & worm cocktail. Those were fun times and i think thats where my real love of fishing begun.
Now I know why I can't catch any fish at Nillahcootie, because you have already caught them all. Then again you did put them all back except for the carp. Hmmm, maybe I am the problem. Thanks for showing us that there are fish in there.
OH YELLOWBELLY!! They are the best eating fish!! I have only had it once but it was delicious. We were catching them by putting a big tube of wire over them as they raced over a shallowly flooded causeway and filleting and frying by the river. Just wonderful.
Now see the difference between this wonderful man, he chucks fish back even if they are keepers because that's what keeps fishing alive, being a local of nilacootie i love to see it.
That was unbelievable Robbie, the kind of fishing that dreams are made of. The banks of Nillahcootie will no doubt be lined with fishermen this next week or two! hahaha
An afternoon with a bit of everything. Pity you didn't get the Yella you were hoping, but all up it was a great haul. Hope your finger healed up alright. Those images of near last light, with bird song and the water like glass; almost to die for. Keep up the awesome work Robbie!

Blimey Robbie....you would be surprised to get a Redfin! I've fished here a number of times and never had a Redfin bite. In fact I have spoken to a few people who have fished here for a very long time and one gentleman who comes from Wang way hasn't seen Freddie in 10 years. But in saying that I have twice spoken to Fisheries guys and they both said there are Redfin in Lake Nillahcootie(I asked them why it is not stocked with Redfin). I think they are towing the company line really... Great vid again Robbie, thank you!!
Thanks so much mate. Nillahcootie use to be a great reddin Lake in the 1980s, but as soon as the yellowbelly were introduced into the lake the reddies just got less and less. They just can't compete with the yellas.
Those carp fins can be really deadly! Good to see you so keen to donate blood Robbie - the other day I thought my nose was bleeding, but after checking it'snot .... What a great session!

A bit of rain, some sun, changing pressure systems with the storms moving through and everything is waking up. Shows how much damage flow regulation at dams and locks and weirs has done to the life cycles of the natives. Great to hear they are moving down around your way. Love when the lakes fill and the fish move in to feed on the flooded ground, they are always keen on a well presented bait. They expect to find all sorts of things in the flooded tussocks and grasses that have grown in the low water period. The discolouration to the water helps them feel secure from top down predation, so they move into the shallows. It also helps the water warm up, as the darker water absorbs heat more efficiently. That always gets the natives excited.

@@johnigoe8206 we have family in bonnyconlon near Sligo. I am 1st generation Australian. My great grandfather was John Igoe who was from Ireland but settled in Fyfe Scotland.
I reckon Your dad is right about the taste of the same species fish in different places personally I reckon yellowbelly from cooby dam in qld taste better than a lot of other places I've caught them sweeter and less fatty
Thanks mate, I do too. 👍👍
Love your videos Robbie.what line and poundage do you like for your willow belly bait fishing.?
Great vid buddy better than me yesty when i was at bridge water!
Thanks mate. Hopefully next trip is better for you buddy.
By the title I can tell it’s gonna be a great video. 👍
Thabks mate. I hope you enjoy it.
@@robbiefishing I did enjoy it. Was hoping to see that 42cm yellowbelly but still great fun watching !!
get all the tinys pumping fear factory Robbie!! 👊
Haha I love Fear Factory.
Broke my little finger pulling in a fish off the beach, hurt like hell but like you didn't quit and pulled in a 6 and a half foot Bronze Whaler. Tasted lovely lol
nice fish, shame about the finger. Hope it heals okay mate.
Haha brilliant. I'm proud of you mate. Haha It's hard to keep a good fisherman down. LOL.
Happened when I was 16, the last joint of my pinkie finger is bent out of whack so came out of it not too bad. Considering I ate the shark, it deserved to leave me with a reminder haha
@@avatarofpapermagic LOL, so it goes. I was saying to a friend I have made recently through youtube, who I have taken out fishing a few times now, that it isn't really a fishing trip if I don't end up bleeding from something.
What a magnificent day you had Robbie! I cant say the same though. I'll have to stick to metal detecting and digging up scrap metal, or as Urban Fisho calls em "ground carp". 👍 Great video Robbie! Cant wait for my gear to arrive, I hopping to head out to Copeton with it and catch a yellow belly or cod.
Hey buddy thanks so much. Hopefully your gear will arrive within the next couple of days mate. 👍
Good luck. Copeton is great. Some nice fat cod in there.
@@AndrewFishman There sure is mate! Caught my biggest cod there
@@TheOutbackFisherman I haven't been up that way in a while. Fond memories of clear water, big rock fields and sight fishing big yebblies and cod. And some huge reddies back in the day.
@@AndrewFishman Now its at %16 and the meter cod are going crazy! When this lockdowns over I might come across you one day
Cracking fishing brother, cover all bases. lol.
Thanks heaps Moose. You should head up there, it's fishing well at the moment.

I'm not sure sorry mate. I honestly have no idea.
Well done bro that’s unbelievable those yellow belly unfortunately could not get a plate size
Bad day Robbie someone's stolen my box trailer, but you always make my day good cheers for doing what you do
Effing bastards, sorry to hear that mate. Hate thieves
I hate them to become someone's robbed my house 2 years ago
Nothing worse mate, the other day I had someone cut up one of my best yabby nets.
Mate, that is so low! Hope you find the culprits and get your trailer back. Was there much in it?
Was empty out of rego to, worth nothing more than scrap metal my pop had it for 35 years than I've had it for 5 years still went very well it's just the sentimental vale I can remember it ever since I can remember
Great trip mate 👍👍👍👍👍 enjoyed first aid with Robbie to much better than all the courses I’ve done hahahahaha
Hahaha I have a current level 2 first aid. (Applied 1st aid). They taught us how to make a donut bandage, tie a sling from a triangle bandage, inject an epi pen etc.... but they must have left out the gaffa tape module. 🤣🤣🤣
Great video mate love them
