Ned*****! Thank you for some great tips. I am an absolute beginner and I really appreciate you taking the time to pass on your experience to learn the correct techniques to make the banjo sound great. Your teaching is really solid and understandable. Thanks again. Looking forward to more!

This video is always in my Favorites folder. I need a continuous reminder to focus on technique (instead of notes, songs, or speed)

Ned! Wow, I haven’t had lessons, don’t know any banjo players and for years have been trying to find technical answers this video gave for ALL my questions! The 2-3 slide, do you end on the 3rd, 4th, choke a little to get that de-tuned tension? All of the above? And you started with that. Thank you! It’s tough with things like that and not having any reference as I would with a teacher and I want nothing more than to play the banjo well. Cheers mate!

hehe I had heard #1 done so many times that way I thought it was supposed to fall short like that... like intended style or feeling, like my finger was gently bounding off the string sooner on purpose. I'm very much a return novice with a long way to go on left hand chord shapes but I started with rolls and slides and hammer-ons ... it's really time for me to lay into left hand including chord shapes because it's still so underdeveloped, like wayy behind my right hand and single-finger stuff, like even more than would be normal, it seems like, lol. Got a long way to go and I'm turning 52 with just some experience in keyboard and much more Native American flute (which isn't really dynamic movements and entirely avoids left pinkys).

    I seen a guy in a band playing a banjo 🪕..
He had a guitar pick between his thumb & index finger and he was strumming it the way a guitar player does..
I guess when it's your banjo, you can play it any way you want too.
That was on a music video on RUclips..
    Keep clammering on guys..
    LOL 😆😆😆
