    I've been using her for Railjack/hollo-key farming because her decrees don't reset until you go back to the dojo

    as a new player who unlocked her pretty quickly... shes become the frame i have the most fun on... the decrees are just fun to do... grinding gets boring for everyone eventually, i like having a side objective of wall latching, jump shots, slide kills ect ect. its something to do while running around. i like getting cool decrees in my runs, her 4 hits like a truck even if youre a new player? so i can see why shes good for being a new player, i have simple basic new player mods on her, with no strength... and she claps enemies... so i dont think shes as weak early game as people think... i think you guys have been vets so long you forgot how easy the early game is :')

      exactly, it just adds more diversity to how you progress during endurance missions compared to a normal, primer here primer there, heavy attack, abilities to kill/survive formula. (im glazing koumei hard)

      ​​@@MO-nj7tjWhy do people like Duviri? It's the same 6/20 (Wf/Open world) objectives, with weapons you already built and fixed rewards.
      I think you can think the answer.
      If you think about Duviri objectively, it's the most repetitive thing but skill/build crafting can't carry anymore. IT'S THE RNG FACTOR THAT ALLOWS IT TO FEEL FRESH.
      No Duviri run feels the same as the last one (before the 30th objective or so in the gauntlet) and no Koumei run feels the same (if you are playing around the decree mechanic, and don't go past the 2 hour mark)
      EVERYTHING is the same thing if you are objective enough about it. Every mode is "KILL ENEMY" with no/a gimmick. Kill enemy. Kill the enemy and pick up loot so you can kill more enemies and get more loot. Kill the enemy so the enemy can't capture a group of circles. Kill a special enemy. Kill an enemy that's locked behind killing other enemies. Same things for Warframes.

    Totally agree on Koumei and also in a more general sense, there are almost 60 frames now, there are a tonne of "zap entire room" frames that you can play if you want to sweat lord it. It means there's room now for more off the wall frames with interesting mechanics and if they happen to mainly be good at one thing, then so be it.

    You can take any frame and practically any weapon to level cap. Ultimately, if a frame isn't fun to use for someone, they are never going to care if they can be min maxed to endgame content

      There’s just a degree of clunkiness for some frames and weapons with having to prime enemies or a buffing process to kill in level cap

      There’s not a lot of frames that can comfortably go to level cap, similarly most weapons can’t comfortably go to level cap.

      She can still nuke sp level cap trash mobs even if you didn't invest any mod on her.
      ...And guess what? She literally does without even spilling a sweat, what Koumei can do only after wasting hours in an endless mission.
      And the fact that Mag can shine in almost every single piece of content has to offer, as the opposite of Koumei who is only mildly useful and not even that much only in endless missions really says how limited this new "beginner friendly frame" truly is.
      (She isn't by the way, as her kit is literally designed around status based endgame builds, i have many doubts any poor mr5 player with 3 total game hours could already access the mandatory galvanized "co" mods.

    I normally do survival for 1-2 hours max, first setup my koumei and went for a test run and ended up in it for 4 hours without even realizing it

    Nahh, I use her literally in every mission. Decent build on your weapon makes her crazy already, she's a flex warframe for me.

    I rarely go above 30 minutes in survival, and I still enjoyed Koumei deeply. Sure, if you're unlucky, by 30 minute mark you might only get one or two good decrees, but in such short missions you don't exactly need to boost her further than her base level of power, it's already enough.

    Exodia Contagion Zaw‘s on Komei are funny when you go for endurance because Condition Overload scales multiplicative and you‘re gonna get basically all elements over time with komei‘s abbility

    The community needs to steer away from the larger names that compare everything to what is the most brain-dead-easy and get into the state of mind of “if you like it, go for it”

      I think a level of balance is important like hydroid pre rework was horrible, not even bad just horribly boring, but yea generally i agree. Not everything needs to be saryn, as a matter of fact a lot of people play solo because if you join a pub with a saryn you can basically just afk it's not fun
      You can tell DE doesn't like it because in every showcase they play the game normally, the way it was intended while the big RUclipsrs are usually just insta nuking everything constantly
      If you like that I don't get it tbh but fair enough, but I don't think having a warframe take a brain to play and actual gameplay makes them bad

      but then again they are the ones who spend hours perfecting their builds and trying to find what works with the frame/abilities and ways to build around their gimmicks and if it doesn't work it's doesn't work its not there fault morons on the internet cant watch a 10min video that's explains how the frame works and builds for it, it's not there fault idiots look at a thumbnail "koumei is mid" and use that to make their final verdict on the frame and decide to not get it I'm played her a lot i tried making her work but her play style so so uncomfortable to play and boring cuz half the time u spend do the decree that's either garbage or straight up useless so then u have to reroll for a better one or at least hope for a better one but then realize there's a cooldown and it stacks the more garbage decree's u choose not to do and the whole dice mechanic is awful ppl wants guaranteed buff not rng based buff like her third which the amount of dmg reduction is based on ur dice roll and that's just it to make her the most bit useable is if u roll perfect 6's which again is rng based so the majority of her play is u spamming her 2,3,4 over and over again till u get that perfect 6 and god forbid u die right after u roll a six cuz ur going to spend the like what's 5min or god knows how long just spamming til u roll a perfect 6 it's boring, tedious, not fun, and incredibly slow this frames has 0 and i mean 0 zero redeeming qualities

    yeah, she is the first warframe ive went to lvl cap with and i have a 2hr recording of me getting to lvl cap with her and its so easy gotta update my build since the one i was using was the one in your first vid about her, but i have the exact same thought about koumei as you and its great to hear someone else have the same thoughts.

    They did make teammates' kills assist in Koumei's challenges but it kept crashing the game which can't be fixed without a code change so they had to remove that QoL chance for now until 1999 drops.

    I haven’t gotten around to farming her yet, but I think she looks hella fun. I’ve always enjoyed running longer missions and I think it’s good they made a frame specifically for that. Not everything needs to be “meta” in any game. Games get better when they give you more options and allow for niche playstyles. I don’t get how angry some people are getting over her being slightly slower paced.

    Koumei isn't just the gambling frame, she's the investment frame
    she's accessible to new players with mechanics that age gracefully
    her randomness is low risk, moderate reward
    her most distinct ability gradually builds up power over the course of a mission by rewarding skillful play

    her fortune telling (really Saya's fortune telling using Koumei's dice) at her shrine in Cetus helped solidify my opinion of fortune telling: it's not thinking these random occurrences decide your life, it's about using randomness to shuffle your focus without letting choice paralysis stop you from living.

    Vazarin is amazing on Koumei for a few reasons. Its Last Gasp is really easy with a Phahd scaffold, since Void Snare combines with the bouncing, exploding disk to basically oneshot whatever you have grouped. Guardian Shell prevents self-stagger so it makes Phahd very safe as well. For Koumei herself, Void Snare also opens enemies to finishers, giving you easy access to triggers for Finisher-based decrees. It's also generally very comfy for resetting your shield gate if you need to assess a situation. I need very good reasons to not run Vaz on all my frames nowadays.
    I will say, for a supposedly endurance oriented frame, her Omamori is really frustrating. It's really close to being an amazing survival tool, as it slowly scales up to basically being a shield gating proc, but it has a couple of really annoying limitations for that purpose. The first is that it locks Koumei out of Combat Discipline/Avenger team builds, as any backlash chip damage prevents shield restoration (according to the wiki, it's hard to line up damage to get around Fortifier to confirm this). The fact that the block cooldown pauses during shield gate is also just bizarre for an ability that helps you shield gate... It would be nice if the block proc could apply to Overguard too. It feels too restrictive and a bit undercooked.
    Last thought: I think Fortifier on Koumei is actually bugged. I don't run heat at all, and yet for some reason I noticed all my weapons started benefiting from Fortifier. There might be a decree with some kind of buggy interaction that's causing this. Either way, I'm not going to complain, "even more God Mode" Koumei is a fantastic bug.

    I love Koumei, I'm still quite new to the game (2 weeks/80hrs) and I thought it was a mistake before that they marketed her towards new players. However, now it seems really interesting!! She is designed to train a newer player's mind and get them used to thinking in how you have to think later on in the game.
    She forces you to understand the basic mechanics of the game, it took me hours to figure out what a wall latch was but then it was easy (although if there was a wall run I might've enjoyed that more but still). She also forces you to think about the different buffs and boosts from her blessings and decrees and how they all synergize together with her abilities and weapons/attacks. This is very similar to how you have to think when making builds, except unlike blessings/decrees you actually get to choose what you want! (which some of the bad decrees make you lament not being able to pick, and they help you get used to thinking about what's good and what's bad and why, so in this case having bad decrees are a good thing!)
    So, I don't think she's "new player friendly" in the sense that it's easy for a new player to play her, and that's on purpose. I think she was made to *specifically* fill the role of guiding someone from new player to intermediate player. She's not supposed to be easy to play for new players, she's supposed to challenge them in the exact ways that the game challenges an intermediate player, but through the more easily accessible adaptation and thinking rather than the more demanding of game knowledge thoughtful decision-making. That is so cool omg
    I've only just finished the Second Dream so I'm still not really at the point to be talking about her later-game/player appeal, but it's just really fun to leave your fate to the dice and adapt accordingly. Even in shorter missions, her 1 and 4 do a lot of area damage (not making comparisons to other frames, but I've been able to hold my own just fine) so she's no fish out of water in speedy missions. But then in longer missions like survival or open world bounties etc. she is SO GOOD. I had a bug that carried over my 30 mins of rougelike decrees into Orb Valis (which I'm pretty sure are almost the same pool as her normal decrees? so I could've just done multiple bounties to keep and build up all those decrees naturally) and I was doing the decree nightwave so I ended with like 35 decrees, so I was keeping up with Gauss and Volt while not taking damage and oneshotting enemies my build has no business dealing damage to lmao. So she's pretty decent in short missions and can hold her own, and on top of that, the longer a mission is (I find even 3-5 decrees is plenty) the more insane she becomes lmao. What more could you ask for? :D
    _BTW I think your idea of having teammates contibute to chalenges you have active would be neat but a bit weird optics-wise, and while this counter-idea isn't a lot better in that regard maybe it could be interesting: Tapping her decree ability sees it work exactly as it currently does. but you Hold it, then the challenge is displayed for all players, they all contribute towards its completion (the higher target amounts are weighted to balance it tho), and they all recieve its benefits. they were designed to work especially for Koumei but to also work for any frame in the rougelike mode so it could be fun!!_

    I will never understand why people are so hard set on using the meta. Warframe is brain dead easy, and there is no gradual curve of improvement. Often times your build will either get instantly clapped around level 5-600 or take you to level cap. The game quickly tells you whether your build can work anywhere or not. I agree with the “use what you like” take

      This is true for almost every game. if you go super meta and path of least resistance then it’s never going to challenge you. The things that give you power are the challenge, they’re the puzzle pieces you have to fit together in a satisfying way

      Fr, for years, I haven’t seen anything actually difficult, cuz the game isn’t designed that way anyway. That is until I tried the apex tank. I got humbled hard by the nullifying puddles and beams everywhere

    I was mainly disappointed that the other benefits of decrees are not applied to koumei, if some of those anti-rng mechanics were used I imagine it’d be much easier to get value out of her.

      @@harmoen in duviri, when you get a decree you gain additional max health and damage. So even if the decrees were not great, you’re still getting a bonus.

    I'm glad someone made this video. I said the moment I tried her she's made for endless and specifically endurance. Anything quick you could play anyone else and get more technical value out of her simply from the cooldown on her decree ability meaning you're probably only casting it a few times if you're lucky. There, to me, is nothing wrong with this. Plenty of frames AND gameplay is marketed towards the newer playerbase/20min warriors, so having something like Koumei exist which is so clearly designed for players who like longer game modes is refreshing. That being said, you'll either like her or not. I haven't spent a ton of time messing with her builds yet but I do know I like her concept in theory, maybe this is my sign to revist her.

    I like koumei, her kit is fun and her decrees keep things interesting, she just needs team kills to work with her decrees. i enjoy endless, i enjoy being with a team. I dont enjoy my team feeling like they are a nerf to my build.
    Its the only reason i haven't been playing her...

      Team kills working for her decree challenges was added for a short time, but was quickly removed because it caused crashes for players. They said it would be added back with the next update because it required new code. So Koumei players will have to be patient for a bit until the 1999 update drops.
      But yeah, she does have other things that need to be changed to improve her, but this is indeed the one thing that REALLY sucks for Koumei players >.

    yes koumei is really good for endgame content, as a returning player, my account is still mr7 and I have duviri unlocked cause its an old account, my koumei with basic default mods(im broke and no endo), can run up to tier 12 or more straight in the circuit which was arouund lvl 2000 - 2500 enemies, just love koumei and her 4th ability can kill anything due to it applying all kinds of statuses which are effective against almost every faction

    I would recommend using the grimoire alt fire to leverage secondary fortifier. It not only gets you to 15k over guard fast but it also allows to add duration, strength, or energy. It's a fire and forget instead of having to stand there shooting at enemies.

    I'm kinda late to this, but Koumei has been one of my favorite frames for a while now. It seems like people only really care about "Nuke-frames". But I like her design & I enjoy the mini challenges & decrees, especially in longer missions. The biggest change I'd like to see if having her decrees ties more into Duviri decrees, especially with having choices instead of it being completely random.

    My biggest problem with koumei is it feels like she only has 2 abilities.
    Her 1 and 4 are basically the same ability. Most people prefer her 4, but either way, you’re only ever really using one of them because they fill the exact same purpose. Her 4 just also has cc. Then her 3 is so insanely boring to me. You’re forced into shield gating on koumei because her survivability is terrible otherwise. So all this ability does is make it so you have to refresh your shields VERY SLIGHTLY less often.
    She basically ends up just being a status spreader that only survives by brief respite shield gating, and then a solid weapons platform once you get a good amount of decrees. She’s not a terrible frame. She has a unique play style and is very viable. But there are so many other frames that can do level cap just as easily as her.

    Hi there, im here just to tell ya that your 3rd skill will not proc Archon Intensify if you have overguard and/or full health.
    combat discipline also doesnt count on overguard, you actually need to be healed for the Archon mod to proc. With that said, you either go for a full shield gating build without fortifier (you can run Combat Discipline for it to proc with your 3rd and also run Arcane Avenger for that sweet base crit chance) or you just drop Archon intensify, after lvl 1k everything one shot you so you cant even proc that.

    Her 4 is line of sight though, so lower level It's push 4 to nuke any tile you can see.... how anyone is saying she's weak is beyond me.
    Lowkey the absolute BEST frame to take steel path circuit though. So many decrees in duviri are based around stats procs, so the frame who mass distributes every single status is just easy mode.
    Also, seriously, get the Aegrit and take it with you. You will cheese 90% of her decrees, because you can choose the exact moment to detonate so wall latch, sliding, airborne challenges etc are all just toss grenades, get in position, destonate. It may not be her signature weapon, but it's perfect for her

    I've been playing Yareli a shitton, a frame that is also not made for you. After playing her for over a hundred hours, I can run a lot of missions faster than a lot of speed frames can because I just know how to use Merulina so well, like grinding to preserve momentum in between bullet jumps. And yes, I can bring her to infinite endurance thanks to her CC with armor stripping from subsumes and overshield gating through secondary fortify.
    Why I'm going off on this tangent is to drive home the fact that you don't need every warframe built for you or built to be the next 'nuke in 1 button' frame. Sometimes something can just be fun while being good enough to do the job.

    It's tricky seeing how to change Koumei in a way which pleases her fans, doesn't trivialise long runs and brings new people on board. How would you feel about the following:
    - A pity system on her dice similar to the one on Gary's passive. Give some kind of indication of how likely the next roll is to be triple 6s so people can "gamble" which ability to use.
    - Remove the increasing cooldown between her 2 if the player succeeded in a challenge. Don't punish players for actually playing correctly. Cooldown can be the tradeoff for cancelling a challenge.
    - Swap sliding, wall latch and airborne challenges for ones like heavy melee kills, kills from status effects, etc. Things people like to do and aren't too fiddly.

      1. Her dice are weighted and you're about 3x as likely to roll a 6 as what dice are normally slotted to, and you can manipulate the dice rolls pretty heavily just by paying attention and using the 1. If pity system, it should come at the cost of a modslot, especially considering how many free ones she has.
      2. The cooldown should just start as soon as you press the button, not after you complete a challenge, that way if you really are that unable to land a headshot (💀) or slide (💀💀💀) then you won't feel like you wasted a bunch of time trying and can just go again. I think the cooldown ramp up should come down if you discard a challenge, but stay as is for the current ramp up system. As it stands, it takes ~6 hours of not discarding decrees to farm the max of 120, most of my runs hit 120 at 6.5 hrs of playtime. With the change to start the cooldown immediately, the time could come down to around 4.5hrs instead, which should be more approachable for ppl trying to get into endurance without taking away from the overall investment. Maybe the max duration could be moddable as well? 🤷‍♀
      3. Skill issue. That's the main part of her gameplay that's engaging and fun. Adding more challenges would be fine, but the game has literally no reason to use the hyper mobility alloted to us, and it genuinely sucks, koumei is the only place in the game where you are actively building up motor skills whilst playing and are given an incentive to use the stupid amount of mobility we have. It's one of the main reasons her gameplay appeals to the people it does, she feels fun because she forces you to play in a way that is mechanical, removing that kills the point of the frame. "Get guud and learn to press ctrl+W" is my genuine advice, though I understand that for console players it might just be harder, controllers are notoriously awful when it comes to wear and tear with warframe.

    People in region were talking about Koumei, mostly negative. I simply said "She doesn't feel bad if you are willing to stay in a mission for longer than 5mins to get decrees"
    I was promptly told that if i am playing Koumei for her decrees, i am playing her wrong....
    I swear some people just lack basic logic, or are so unfamiliar with the Decrees that they assume the permanent mission long buffs they give are not worth the grind...

    Strong is solo play, frustrating in team play. Koumei is the one that wants to control the battle field and excels at it. But she has to do it through extra steps, which is a none issue when you are in control. In team play however (which is what i prefer) she is often in another room in survival splitting spawns trying to ramp up, only to leave at 20-40 mins.
    Her passive, oh boi, is that actually broken.

      Playing pubs tends to just make the game worse, I'm not saying people shouldn't but its very obvious the game hasn't been thought out for teamplay, it never works well, from spawns to balance it just doesn't work
      If they actually made team content like the raids or dungeons etc then people would actually have to function as a team and it would make a lot of people actually want to play with other people without hindering others but until then this is what we got

    Ive been starting to enjoy going into steel path but also going for those longer missions. I agree its more of a taste thing than koumei being as bad as people say.
    I do find it curious how she has two abilities with random status building but doesnt interact with it all, thanks for reminding me about the heminth ability

    To be honest, Banshee is the exact same way. People will swear up and down that Banshee is terrible, that she doesn't fit into the new meta, etc, but the fact is that Banshee's skill set requires you to dump everything the other frames have trained you into thinking as you play, and forces you into a different play style.
    Banshee is a very stealth based, and cover utilizing, frame. She isn't meant for a run and gun play style. To put it bluntly, just like Koumei, she isn't bad: she's just not made for you.
    Either you're willing to change up your play style to make her work, or you're not.

    im not an endurance player but koumei is one of my favourite frames, decrees aren't great on shorter missions sure but she puts out SO MUCH status damage and her survivability is great, i really like running her in high enemy density steel path missions. frankly the people calling her bad might just not understand how to build her, she builds weird

    Your title is dead on. I hate RNG on player abilities, I hate Duviri and all of its mechanics, and I rarely bother going more than 30 minutes on any endless mission. The only thing I like about Koumei is her aesthetic design and lore, so I really doubt she'll ever be more than mastery fodder for me.

      But also the Xoris Koumei or Harmony in shorter missions is fine. She can abuse melee influence really easily and you just ignore her 2. It's not that bad in shorter missions. The only issue in shorter missions is just she doesn't move as fast
      Which is why I added Fire walker and use Swift momentum.
      It makes her fun in shorter missions

    I mostly play 1 hour plus endurance runs .. no two Koumei runs are ever the same thanks to her design. Personally I think this is amazing ! I love that in a game I have thousands of hours in, there's now a frame that can provide potentaily limitless new ways to waste 3 or 4 hours of my spare time, bloody brilliant frame

    I dont play koumei how ever I will die on the hill that she is a good frame and a fun one at that, the RNG and the task of having to get decrees make endless missions more interesting and relatively easy. not to mention her kit in its self is already nice with her 4th and her 3rd being the best part. I can understand people want high power killing machine which is why they dislike the RNG but that doesn't mean hes a bad frame. the title pretty much sums up the debate on koumei.

    One problem with the challenges for koumei is not that they are difficult but more of the fact that there arent many of them. I would like if DE chooses to add more of them cuz honestly they are pretty fun but they do become repetative after a while. I do have some other issues with her but thats genuenly the one that kinda bothers me the most. But she seems fun to play and i like it only takes 24 hours for her to be build.

    Good take. I found Koumei's basics to be strong but her core loop of Omikuji challenges to be unrewarding. To your point, that wouldn't be the case either to new players who benefit more from decrees than their available mods, or during longer runs than I ever have time to play.

    I think what people miss is that Koumei is a frame where your weapons and companion need to be picked to work with her decrees. One does not just go into a mission with Koumei with any old weapon.

    Koumei is a fun Warframe. I needed to warm up to the RNG aspect of her, but now I can say she is very fun. The idea of getting Duviri decrees in an endless mission is cool and I tried it out in a survival mission. It was a blast and eventually I want to go upwards of an hour to see what results I can get.
    I will note that I did create a non endless build where I replaced Omikuji with Sickening Pulse mostly because I feel Omikuji isn't worth it in non endless missions. Realistically I feel I'm only going to get one decree and by then the mission will either be halfway or almost done. What's the point in going for another decree at that point? Plus seeing groups of enemies go poof in a cloud of status effects is hilarious.
    _Also the Koumei fanboys need to CHILL. Let people warm up to her, seriously._

    Koumei is a utility warframe that paints your loadout and enemies with status effects. Koumei is a warframe that shows the skills and creativity of the player. I think that's why some players don't favor her. She isn't a crutch for bad players like Revenant or Saryn. Her mod setup is very flexible so you don't have to use endgame setups to kill enemies. Also people don't like using her one because of the random strand placement, but it's a quick casting ability that is meant for spamming and the ability riccochet off of walls and large surfaces. Her 4 is great for open areas. Her 2 is great for long endurance missions and Durviri Circuit. That would be my subsume ability in my opinion. Any ability would be good for her 2 if you aren't doing endless missions, Arbitrations, or Duviri Circuit. P.S. Close Contagion on Koumei makes her 1 and 4 AOE nukes in Duviri SP Circuit 😂😂😂😂

    MR22 here and Koumei has quickly become my daily driver for most mission types. I agree she is undoubtably built for endurance, however I think the people that say she's useless in everything else just need to learn how to build. definitely take advantage of the archon mods, bring a Crowd killer primary, single target DPS secondary and whatever melee you want so long as it has condition overload somewhere (personally using her Amanata for those blessings and the insane version of pressure point), and she's melt through anything, especially since her 3rd brings her just below Revenant in terms of survivability, and her 4th reliably procs minimum 10 different status effects on everything you can see that is in range and immobilizes them for a good amount of time. If you prefer shorter missions then I'd suggest replacing her 2nd with Roar via helminth to make up for the extra damage you would be getting but can't because you only have time to cast it like 4 times in the mission

    Yes Gambling is a nice but I would have liked a Marrionette Frame way more
    Something that takes advantage of the Parazon maybe
    (Exhalted Whip Parazon???)
    While making the Decrees and stuff in to a whole Duvivri Frame instead since that's where those even came from to begin with

      @@kartikpintu since the gambling portion is the entire concept of the character (regardless of how well executed it is because I agree it does need some reworking) I think she brings a lot to the table for solo play especially. I also understand she is not gonna be enjoyable for everyone because of the inconsistency and what are essentially riven challenges every game you play. For myself I find it very fun

    Koumei is most definitely an amazing Endurance frame however delagating a frame to a single style of play just doesnt feel great to me personally.
    My personal issue with Koumei is I feel that they didn't lean into her Gambling enough, it feels like unless you are rolling triple sixes her abilities are kind of underwhelming where it should feel like they're good on a high roll, ok on a mid roll, terrible on a low roll, and godly on triple sixes. I feel like giving her a little touch up in the future to make her higher risk but higher reward would be cool. Also give us some more variations in the challenges too, it gets stale rolling the same challenges all the time.
    Also if you roll three ones you should just explode because its funny.
