1- major activity of company, is it Halal or haram? 2- not be working with bank based on riba/pension 3- company should not take a big loan that causes massive debt indexes] should invest long term
I believe the opinion of Dr Zakir on this matter is open to debate. The objective of short term trading is still trading. Islam permits trading, whether it is halal company shares or bananas. If a wholesaler buys fruits today and sells them today, he is not breaking any Islamic rule. Same applies to non-perishable goods like metal or furniture. There are electronic platforms where one can buy and sell items within minutes. The stock market is an open auction and because it is fully electronic the speed of transactions are at the speed of light. This in and of itself does not make short term trading prohibited. Jazak Allahu khair.
But the best part is here that when you buy fruits and things maybe you havent sell them today tomorrow you go to sell but price is lower then yesterday so you cant keep you still sell them on the low par but with trading when you buy it if market get crashed get low then you are not selling because you are waiting that market go up and then you sell to gain which is not halal in islam
Incase of bananas and electronics, you are not bound to sell them at the end of the day or in one hour. U own them so you keep them as long as you want or as long as the correct price is met. If u buy stocks without the condition of selling them within an hour or at the end of the day and u are free to sell them whenever then u can sell it in a day or an hour or in a minute whatever u like to do with it as long as you are not bound to.

As for mutual funds there's Tata ethical fund like Shari'ah compliant. What's haraam as per my research Intraday trading, forex trading, bitcoins, FD etc
Gambling is there is no goods at hand. You don't sell anything. You just trade your luck with each other. Trading is you buy a thing and sell it whenever you want. This is my understanding
Hello, I’m a profesional day trader and I can tell you that it is NOT gambling if you know what you’re doing and have a solid strategy. With that said it does take a lot of time and effort to get good at this skill but you can just trade with a demo account until you get good
Well actually we purchase a small and very small part of company and then sell it. So it's not that what you think actually the smaller part of company becomes the product that we sell and buy in Stock Exchange.
What i dont understand like for trading study is required When a person studues he comes to know how the market works he studies charts he studies how the stocks of a company are doing So then that is not a speculation or gambling Its like u buy a land in an area which is profitavle rather than an area where profit is absent or very low Or u open a store and sell products that are bought easily and sold easkly having greater profits 2ndly if we buy goods in the morning and we sell it in the same day than as said by doctor is haram but its what is done by fruit sellers pharmacies etc
Another example is day Hurricane comes to parts of the world where rice is grown and destroys the rice harvest, then traders will start to buy rice and sell when Price goes up because of the nature event. So trading is halal for some and Haram for others depending on their strategy. Another example is Cow, cow is halal for Muslims, however if the same cow is not slaughter in Islamic way, then the cow which is halal to Muslims becomes Haram, Hope you get my explanations
Sir, I believe what he means by doing technical analysis is graph reading. This has become a skill as stocks are manipulated by them being bought or sold. This results in recurring patterns and graph reading becomes possible. For example if a stock rises in price suddenly it is guaranteed to fall back. Obviously you can't be 100% sure but you can be 90% certain about dips or rises. Doesn't this knowledge of graph reading and experience I have gained over years learning this craft make it strategical instead of gambling. Because in gambling you have no idea on what is about to happen but whenever i buy a stock i am very certain that it is about to go up

I thought about short term trading but it’s based on gambling and speculations , so it’s haram, and long term investing probably requires lot of money , but I personally have an account already and I am looking forward to invest it in the future . It’s great opportunity for everyone .
I think dr is talking about day trading. The one in which you are bound to sell the stock at the end of the day or in an hour . thats gambling aspect of it. If u actually own a stock without any condition of selling it at a particular time and can hold it for as long as you want then u can trade it anytime.
But buying a share doesn't mean buying a product of the company. It means buying the small percentage of the company. As dr naik said , would you like to buy a company for hours?
I love you in God, my brother. I ask you to put the translation into Arabic because you have many lovers in Arab countries, and everyone wants you to do so. Thank you, brother in God.

-Basic activity should not be haram. -Identified as a halal stock by a fuqaha’ expert. -If u want to sell it as soon as you made profit, this involves speculation.
Dr Zakir Sahib. You have so much knowledge and I have very little. My humble observation is that you are comparing being a partner into a business with owning a asset of business that is tradeable and its market price depends on demand/supply. This is no different than buying tomatoes. A tomato seller buys tomatoes to sell at a higher price. Same for gold seller. If market price increases ( due to supply demand) then he will sell buy at new price. I respectfully disagree with your position on this.
Example I bought a bike 2 hrs back & I got small profit hence I will sell it after 2 hrs, so why is it that we can't do that with share which we bought from our money?
Im looking to get into crypto trading. Specifically short term trades. I understand everything dr Zakir Naik said. But I still havent got a satisfactory answer on wether it is haram or halal. I dont agree that all short term trades are gambling. In the case of gambling your dependend on dumb luck. There is no substantial element to analyse. But in the case of trading, a person can analyse supply and demand, which takes a certain amount of study and skill to achieve. And based off that makes a decision on a particular trade to make profit. How is that haram? So if somebody that is active in the fruitmarket decides to go to the wholesale and purchase 2x times more oranges than the last time. Because he saw an increasing amount of demand for oranges. Does that mean he is gambling?? Ofcourse anything can happen and the guy selling oranges may find out that the demand was actually decreasing and result in loss. But that does not mean he was gambling. He was making a trading decision based on the market he is active in. I may see things wrong. Can somebody please clarify? Assalamun alaykum.
I respect Dr Zakir naik but what he said by this statement If it is done for a short period intentionally thinking that we will sell it after it's price increases or decreases is this gambling ? iam so confused now can anyone explain me please iam so interested to do swing trading
Most of the listed companies in the Stock market are growing their business on Riba or Interest which is totally prohibited. So even the main business activity is halal but if the business is built on Riba so it is not permitted to invest in those companies.
The issue is if someone starts a business and speculates that the business is going to do great in future. Does this speculation make the business haram?? If any literate brother can help me with my confusion
Honestly, the point on intraday trading doesn't really make sense to me so please forgive my ignorance. But if you own an asset be it stock or even something physical, if it is within your ownership then you can sell it at any point after you acquire it, no? If I buy a car and sell it for profit later that day, how is it any different? If anything, swing trading is even more speculative because you're just sitting and hoping while waiting exposed in the market. Obviously, you can use technical analysis to limit your risk for both day trading and swinging, but to be honest the argument doesn't make much sense. I understand riba is a major sin and that's why I've avoided it at all costs. But to say all derivatives are haram as is day trading, what are you left with? Just swing trading stocks, nothing else. And like I said, if anything that's more market exposure, more risk.
Yeah i agree.. i dont think there is riba involved and major scholars say its omay to trade if the stocks as shariah compliant.. i didnt agree when he said about like you work far a week or month.. if that would be the case then we could apply for a job by buying stocks ? So didnt make any sence what he said
Aoa, Respectful Dr. Zakir Sahab, I am from pakistan, My question is, Investment in crypto currencies and forex is halal or hara, Waiting for your Answer Sir.
I am not a scholar but read my perspective if you want. If trading is halal then it doesn't matter whether you trade short-term or long term For example. A person comes to a mobile shop and sells a mobile phone, then 5 minutes later another person comes and buys the same mobile phone. This deal is absolutely halal. Hope you all agree. If this deal is halal, why is short-term trading prohibited? f I buy a stock and I am not sure about the trade and I want to close the trade first, will that trade become haram? If you are talking about the short term it means you are saying that all short-term strategies are not profitable, you should prove in every detail that all short term strategies are not profitable. If you say that one of these short-term strategies is profitable, then you must admit that it is completely halal. If you are saying that short-term trading is haram, then its means that you are saying there is no permanent profit in short-term trading, so it is gambling. But what do you say if I say that there are consistent results in short-term trading? I genuinely respect every scholar. These are the points that every Muslim trader should know.
I am a day trader and revert and indeed I can confirm short term trading can be highly profitable if you know what you’re doing. I did lose a lot of money to get good at trading but that was something I was okay with and I have made up for all my past losses today.
Question i am doing CA and in my profession we write about interest in our business reports and islam says writing about interest(sood) is also haram so wether i do my job or not in which i right about interest
You are not taking any kind of interest. You are only managing some accounts. It's halal. And please stick on your career and be an expert in that. We Muslims need such people more 🙌 And btw, even halal businesses require CAs
@@superman5507 No Writing about interest in CA course is not Haram. Writing about interest is haram means when anyone write about the interest in any contract that bears interest or any writing that promotes interest. 👍🙂
With all the respect to the sheikh.. But why should we invest in stocks if we are not allowed to buy LOW and sell HIGH to make profit? He is telling in other words to buy the share and not sell UNLESS it is crashing and we losing our capital.
Plus, as I know, if we invest stock market for a short term. For example, if we buy stocks today and sell it for next week because we want to gain profit, We cannot reinvest into that same stock( which means they will charge you interest for doing that kind of thing) Correct me if im wrong🙇♂️🙇♂️
I agree that here the short term trade point is debatable. Here we also need to consider the transfer of ownership which means if the stock is registered on your name in the company/ exchange's record. The transfer period is different, but as per my limited knowledge it still takes at least 1 day minimum for the transfer process to be completed. As a personal practice, i refer this case to a hadith where Prophet Muhammad PBUH forbade to trade something which you do not have in your possession (if someone can give the exact hadith reference and the exact words it would be really appreciated). I personally follow this rule in trade and wait till the shares are transferred and then make an exit trade if needed. And in general most of the trades are planned so it can be easily managed. May Allah guide us in the right direction.
Please, i dont understand what dr zakir naik said, im not good in listening. So he said halal or haram when we trade in short ? Please whoever answer me 🥲. Thankyou
Dear Sir, for being partner for short period (day or week or month) eg. Beisde stock matkets, If i we bought some partnership share in our local village shops and after a week or a month some offered good price for that share partnership and we are also not permissable to sell ? Iam confused. Please clarify.
Assalamalaikum it's not like that. Suppose you buy a stock and it's not about you bought for long term or short term it's about you analysed that stock and then bought that whenever it's price increase you going sell it. Because the time you bought you didn't know when this stock price going to increase. may be someone bought the same stock 2 months ago and you bought after 2 months then the price increase after 15 days of your purchased. So the first person waited for 2 months and 15 days and u waited for 15 days only its about intention. Whether you want gamble or not. Trading can be gamble when you make it gamble. And if you analyse and buy for good performance of the company and if it's increase a little you can sell its not haram because you don't want to wait for high return
Doctor I have a question. Is selling Options halal? Because selling options is like selling insurance to the shareholders. For example someone is holding the shares of a medicine company and he is scared that the price of the shares can go down so he buys insurance for his shares for hedging purpose. So if that person who is providing the insurance is me, will that premium money I collect be haram? Please explain
Trading stocks may seem gambling for some who trades without knowledge, based on Pure Luck, but for some it's a strategy they follow, like say Middle East war escalates in such a way that Oil infrastructure of Iran, Iraq and Saudi Arabia gets Attacked by Isreal or other terrorist organisations then oil price won't be staying same, it will rise very quickly and to significantly higer levels prior to to the event.
assalamualaikum warahmatullahi ta'ala wabarakatuh,, I know this isn't related to the subject but please answer! If drawing/taking pictures are haram, is looking at them/watching them (cartoons) also haram? And emojis, are they permissible to use? May Allah guide us to the right path.
Drawing & animation is halal. Even making them is halal. Yes, there are a few hadiths which say that drawing is haram which also makes animation haram. Most scholars simply read the hadith and say it's haram without learning the background, and why prophet Muhammad said so. Prophet Muhammad said this in order to stop the shirk based works because most of the people then used to do draw pictures of Gods. If you are not doing anything based on shirk, then it is totally halal. And also it shouldn't contain nudity. In short, any kind of drawing & doing animation and watching animation is halal, till nudity and the shirk based things are not included
Sheikh how about when investing in gold in the stock market or apps can we buy and sell gold from trading apps? Like buying when the prices are low and then selling it when the prices are high depending on time whether a few hours or whether a week?
Assalam Dr.. what if let say I’m a partner of a trader and We agree to buy some goods ( in this case : stocks) in the suburbs for let say 100$ and in the span of 10 minutes journey to the city our goods is priced at between 150 to 200 ringgit which the profit will then be divided equally .. isn’t the situation same whereby the time taken was only a couple of minutes for the item to increase in price and ready to be sold? Need further explanation as I’m starting to develop some interest in the stock market and want to know why things are halal or haram.
If it is permissible for long term then i think it is permissible on hourly basis too, as both cases need analysis, now the physical share is not at all nowadays, it is just business of numbers which depends on how much knowledge you possess to gain profit irrespective of time period, what logic is there that you can analyse a 6 months or else time period's stocks moment & can't do the same on hourly or on daily basis? I think it is same , it wholly depends on your knowledge, even some permit it but restrict short selling, again i am saying if you possess knowledge then it is permissible in all ways, however if you guess or wait for luck only, then it is surely gambling in all time periods.
(Of Halal stocks) Delivery of shares is mandatory which happens typically in T+2 Days (Settlement); Intraday & BTST (BuyTodaySellTmmrw) should be avoided
Hmmm. So if I buy fruit in the morning hoping to sell them by lunch at a profit does it mean it haram just because I kept the stock less than a day? I don't know how the time limit is determined to be perfectly honest.
When you buy a stock, it means that you become a partner of doing the business. In essence, You cannot be a partner of a business for just one hour or one day. Partner means that you are friends that will go alongside with the business both its profit or losses. Buying fruits in the morning and selling them in the afternoon or tomorrow, it is not problem because you are trading, not becoming a partner of business.

In my opinion (Of Halal Equities/Business), the Delivery of Shares is mandatory; For example, It is halal if you are purchasing Stock at a discounted price and selling it in 2 -3 days when the price gets corrected. For example, if I get a chance to buy a business or a restaurant at a discount price later anytime I will sell it If I'm making any gain and I don't find anything haram in this; sometimes I get an offer to buy a phone at a cheap price of which I know I can sell it at a better price later anytime and this is halal. The objective of short term trading is still trading. Islam permits trading, whether it is halal company shares or bananas. Can I invest for a month?
So trading is halal if with TA no speculation?
Same here I did research alot still I am learning..
Concisely just buy stock markets shares of halal or Shari'ah compliant companies keep it.for long term say 6,12months and beyond.
As for mutual funds there's Tata ethical fund like Shari'ah compliant.
What's haraam as per my research
Intraday trading, forex trading, bitcoins, FD etc
I don't think religious ulama spend enough time studying these financial issues. So the information is fragmented and inaccurate at times.
Gambling is there is no goods at hand. You don't sell anything. You just trade your luck with each other. Trading is you buy a thing and sell it whenever you want. This is my understanding
then go do research if u think trading is what ur bias opinion is
Hello,
I’m a profesional day trader and I can tell you that it is NOT gambling if you know what you’re doing and have a solid strategy. With that said it does take a lot of time and effort to get good at this skill but you can just trade with a demo account until you get good
Bro you arent profitable stop capping @AndersenTrades
Do you mean In Gambling there is no production at all!
Then You can't gamble after buying a product where there is no production in a hour
Well actually we purchase a small and very small part of company and then sell it. So it's not that what you think actually the smaller part of company becomes the product that we sell and buy in Stock Exchange.
Assalamualaykum sir.
Lots of confusion has cleared from this video.
Thank you sir.
What i dont understand like for trading study is required
When a person studues he comes to know how the market works he studies charts he studies how the stocks of a company are doing
So then that is not a speculation or gambling
Its like u buy a land in an area which is profitavle rather than an area where profit is absent or very low
Or u open a store and sell products that are bought easily and sold easkly having greater profits
2ndly if we buy goods in the morning and we sell it in the same day than as said by doctor is haram but its what is done by fruit sellers pharmacies etc
Exactly. No offence to this doctor but he does not have a clue about day trading
The ummah should get rid of all gambling-natured financial games, for they are hurting humanity in a long term and forever.
Another example is day Hurricane comes to parts of the world where rice is grown and destroys the rice harvest, then traders will start to buy rice and sell when Price goes up because of the nature event.
So trading is halal for some and Haram for others depending on their strategy.
Another example is Cow, cow is halal for Muslims, however if the same cow is not slaughter in Islamic way, then the cow which is halal to Muslims becomes Haram,
Hope you get my explanations
Sir, I believe what he means by doing technical analysis is graph reading. This has become a skill as stocks are manipulated by them being bought or sold. This results in recurring patterns and graph reading becomes possible. For example if a stock rises in price suddenly it is guaranteed to fall back. Obviously you can't be 100% sure but you can be 90% certain about dips or rises. Doesn't this knowledge of graph reading and experience I have gained over years learning this craft make it strategical instead of gambling. Because in gambling you have no idea on what is about to happen but whenever i buy a stock i am very certain that it is about to go up
stocks are run by creating speculations at least 77% of them are speculations

People buy and trades on seasonal opportunities.
Trade is allowed based on that using news, charts, analysis etc.... News move markets

Dr Zakir Sahib. You have so much knowledge and I have very little. My humble observation is that you are comparing being a partner into a business with owning a asset of business that is tradeable and its market price depends on demand/supply. This is no different than buying tomatoes. A tomato seller buys tomatoes to sell at a higher price. Same for gold seller. If market price increases ( due to supply demand) then he will sell buy at new price. I respectfully disagree with your position on this.

So didnt make any sence what he said
There is no direct answer. Judgement calls by the doer and the Imam.
Taking possession of shares ppl want and selling them during heightened demand. If I purchase a car and sell the same hour,...same comparsion.

I am not a scholar but read my perspective if you want.
If trading is halal then it doesn't matter whether you trade short-term or long term
For example.
IT stocks me invest krna kesa he, kyu ki wo banks, insurance company Aur NBFC ko bhi service dete he Unka 30-40% revenue Waha se aata he.

Love your videos
I have a question, what is considered an long period of time 1 month? 6 months? a year??

In short, any kind of drawing & doing animation and watching animation is halal, till nudity and the shirk based things are not included

isn’t the situation same whereby the time taken was only a couple of minutes for the item to increase in price and ready to be sold?
Need further explanation as I’m starting to develop some interest in the stock market and want to know why things are halal or haram.
I think stock after T+2 days move to your account then you can buy and sell them
If we apply same scenario on real estate, one should only lease the real estate and not make trading out of it.
If it is permissible for long term then i think it is permissible on hourly basis too, as both cases need analysis,
now the physical share is not at all nowadays, it is just business of numbers which depends on how much knowledge you possess to gain profit irrespective of time period,
what logic is there that you can analyse a 6 months or else time period's stocks moment & can't do the same on hourly or on daily basis?
I think it is same , it wholly depends on your knowledge, even some permit it but restrict short selling, again i am saying if you possess knowledge then it is permissible in all ways, however if you guess or wait for luck only, then it is surely gambling in all time periods.
(Of Halal stocks) Delivery of shares is mandatory which happens typically in T+2 Days (Settlement); Intraday & BTST (BuyTodaySellTmmrw) should be avoided
What is classed as long term? What is classed as short term?
