Scott Kirsten and Mitch together are known as "The Trio" And the fans didn't dub them that, they came up with it long before pentatonix was even a thing
I'm loving witnessing your journey! Scott has done a few side collabs that i think you would really love. the first is a duet with him and Mario Jose singing LP's "Lost on you" to the score done by Hans Zimmer (from the movie Inception). Another one is Scott doing a duet with Frankie singing "Ghost" which is like a gender reversed type of "Grease" video.
I support this suggestion with all my heart! "Lost on you" is so emotionally powerfull! And "Ghost" is super fun! .Scott is absolutely amazing in both of them.
More Toddy Reactions Please!!!! If you feel like doing a long video of reacting to one of his visual albums, I would love to see that! “Straight Outta Oz” is based in his life told loosely based on his favorite story, “the wizard of Oz”. Everything was recorded, shot, costumes, etc.. all in 2 weeks! Pretty friggin incredible! He has so much talent and fully funds all of his productions and tours. He is not a signed artist. Also I’m LOVING all your PTX reactions, I’ve been a fan of theirs for a long time so I love seeing newer reactors!!! Keep up the good work Travis!!
"Dream But not too big. Reach But not too wide Think The impossible As long as it's in Black and White." Well, to heck with THAT. Live your life in full living color and blow out all the stops! The words to this song are friggin' brilliant at exposing the indoctrination we are almost all subjected to while growing up. Kirstin was originally part of the attribution in the song title but chose to have her name removed (but it's still included in the description paragraph) simply because it made the title too unwieldy. At least, I read that somewhere. :)
Every song on Todrick Halls visual album "Straight Outta Oz" are amazing. My favorites are "Lyin ti myself", "Water Guns" "No Place Like Home" and "Low" with Ru Paul
You should do more Todrick!! He is super talented. He has done a whole visual album/musical based around his life (which this song is from) and I think you would enjoy it! Love your reactions by the way!! Please continue doing Pentatonix!! X
This song is off Todrick's "Straight Outta Oz", his autobiographical take on the Wizard of Oz. This song is followed by one titled "Color", in homage to the classic movie. There are so many great songs/videos on that album "Over the Rainbow", "Dumb", "Expensive", "Lyin to Myself", "Wrong Bitch" just to name a few of my favorites.
I read that at one time Todrick was struggling with not being accepted as black or white, because of his blue eyes and lighter skin. I believe this song was in response to that feeling of never being what others want you to be. He did a longer video, mostly musical, about his experience called Straight Outta Oz, and this song is from that video. Someone else mentioned a video he did spoofing PTX, which is really funny, called Pentatodrix. Please put that on your list of future reactions!
I wish you and I had been friends as kids because I'm in a wheelchair, so I have NEVER fit in any box and I'm proud of it!! It took a little while for me to get there, but by high school I had a profound hatred for any "black and white" people or thought (which wasn't healthy either, but it was better than trying to be what I could NEVER be), and now I accept all the shades as part of the gradient of life and love those who hang out near my shades the most because we'll never be truly accepted, so we need to find acceptance where we can. Fantastic reaction as always!! Can't wait for the next one!!
Travis you lift my heart!!!💖Love your philosophy and the message in this song! Yeah to individuality! Wish we ALL could love people for who they truly are!!!!!
This song is from Todrick's original visual album Straight Outta Oz that was criminally overlooked by the various industry music awards organizations. As you've seen in The Wizard of Ahhhs and in this video, Todrick is a multitalented singer/dancer/songwriter/choreographer/costumer/set designer/concept artist. He started on RUclips posting covers of Disney and top 40 pop songs, eventually transitioning to original music. I believe Straight Outta Oz was his first full original album and he decided to make like Beyoncé and created an epic visual album with videos for every song. He had always been obsessed with the Wizard of Oz growing up so he took the themes from that classic to tell his own life story using Oz-inspired imagery. He first released the album in 2016 but put out a deluxe edition in 2017 with additional songs. Besides Scott, Mitch and Kirstin from Pentatonix, various tracks from the album also feature well-known singers from Broadway, film, tv and the music industry. Here's the wiki entry listing all the tracks and guest stars - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Straight_Outta_Oz . You can watch the entire 70 minute visual album on his RUclips channel but I think Todrick has also posted most of the songs as separated videos so you can react to them individually (or several at a time) if you wish. My favourite track is still "Papi" (featuring Nicole Scherzinger) - ruclips.net/video/ccJF_g72Tho/видео.html . Nicole portrays a Hollywood talent agent but in the context of Wizard of Oz, she is basically the poppy field outside Oz that mesmerizes and traps Dorothy (falling asleep in the poppy field = sleeping with the talent agent Papi), preventing her from reaching her true goal (Oz). All the songs are brilliant and dance sequences are amazingly choreographed.
even though todrick is so big and has been on broadway multiple times, i still feel like hes very underrated! ive been watching/following him dang near 11 years now and im 21! hes incredible!
Nothing wrong with being emotional, you're human, but when you get that way I just want to give you a big Mom hug! 🤗 Actually, there's a clip of Pentatonix on stage where Avi mentions being sensitive and Mitch says, "That's alright because the ladies love a sensitive man, and so do I!" So see, Mitch would love you too!😉
This is one of my faves from the Straight Outta Oz visual album. All the songs are great as individual videos but really it's best to watch the whole album through. (just over an hour, so not too long of a time commitment) Todrick narrates his life story & each song reflects a part of what was going on. Plus it doesn't get boring auditorily either since there is a nice balance of various singers. I always describe it as a roller coaster ride of emotions & styles, as it tells about happy & funny highs, his 1st love, sad lows, & more.
I knew that yoou would appreciate the message that comes with this one. And, I am happy you chose it so many reactors miss this gem. Keep living in technicolor, Travis.
Mitch was my role model when coming out to myself. He was the first person ‘’ in gray ‘’ that i knew at the time. I’m so happy that there are more and more artists sharing their truth that can inspire younger people!
This! This is why I love your reactions. You're so genuine and loved your message at the end. Love this song and so glad you reacted to it. Another fun and creative one by Todrick Hall is Low feat. RuPaul. Love it 🙂
absolutely must do more todrick hall. I love his straight otta oz album. the fact that it is his life story is so captivating and still has an amazing message about being yourself, no matter who stands in your way. Honestly it is inspiring.
When I was young I didn't really need this message because I always knew that to get out of where I came from I would have to find ways to stand out and get noticed but there's no doubt it would have made the struggle easier to have it reinforced. Now at the other end of the age spectrum the struggle has returned because young people in general just want older people to get out of the way, sometimes literally, fade away and be done. They don't get that while we've been where they are, they haven't been where we are and we've got here by learning a few things along the way. It doesn't work on me any more now than it did when I was young. As far as I've always been concerned - You're different? Pleased to meet you. My tribe.
My favorite collaboration between PTX and Todrick Hall. So well done and so meaningful. Loved your reaction. We all got put into baskets where we did not feel comfortable and it was so wrong.
I love your reactions and while Todrick has so many awesome video's to react to, one of my personal favorites is "Lyin to Myself" . It's from 2016 Straight Outta Oz album. Thx Travis
You should do this whole visual album that this comes from - it's incredible done, all around, and also hits emotionally pretty hard. Seriously, Todrick is Incredible
This song is from Todrick's Straight Outta Oz biopic EP. It tells his life story through the scenes of Wizard of Oz. The title Black and White refers to the early part of the film that is in black and white, before Dorothy lands in colorful Munchkinland. I highly suggest you watch the whole EP. I love every song and even attended two productions of his live tour of Straight Outta Oz.
I’m with you, Travis! I wish I heard and understood that message when I was a youngster. I spent so many years trying to be normal after being told I wouldn’t amount to anything because I was deaf. I wouldn’t dare add my non traditional sexual preference. Now I’m middle aged wishing I could go back and say FU I’m gonna do it my way. Thank you for sharing this video. I haven’t seen it before. ☮️
Love this! You are one of my NEW FAV reactors!!!! You are def a true Pentaholic already & I am enjoying the heck out of being along on your journey with you. It's like I'm discovering their songs all over again!!! Oh, btw, Kirstin pronounces her name "Kur-stin" or "Kur-stee" (rhymes with "thirsty"!) Don't feel bad... almost every single reactor, interviewer, etc. who 1st talks to her or about her gets her name wrong! Lol! Oh, have you done any of Kevin's solo stuff yet? If you haven't heard his cover of "Down" by Marion Hill yet you are in for such a mind-blowing treat!!! If I have missed any of your uploads over the past few days it's because we had to drive to Florida (from NC) for a funeral as my hubbys sister who lived here passed away & I have been super busy. I'll be home in a few days as long as the hurricane doesn't't come too close. Thanks for this video which totally cheered me up! 😉
I'm so happy you're starting on the Straight Outta Oz album! There's actually a documentary about how crazy it was for Todrick to do his tour for this album essentially as a musical! It's called Behind the Curtain & explains more about the real life experiences that shaped this album. My favourite song & MV is Water Guns! Btw, I'm so glad this made you emotional & I'm sorry you weren't allowed to be you growing up (look at you now baby!). Fair warning, many of the songs from this album will get you in your feels! Great reaction as always!
In the beginning there was The Trio. They sang together in high school a couple of years before forming Pentatonix. There are a couple of videos on RUclips from then. Still recommend Seasons Of Love.
You have such a big heart and you let it all out there! I know I say this with every comment I write to you but I love who you are! Keep being you! So many times, kids don't hear the message that they are accepted no matter what because society and a loud section of it, judges and condemns when they just don't have the right! These judgers have no place making anyone feel uncomfortable in themselves! You are a gem and I'm glad you are doing this! It appears to be very therapeutic! We love it! Great song!
So glad this meant so much to you - one of my favorites, too. I drove my family nuts playing this on repeat over one Christmas break when I first discovered it
Love this, I have watched this so many times, glad that you reacted to this one❤️ Thrilled that you are going to get around to Dimash, his newest Stranger is epic. Black and White has an incredible message and they all seemed to have a great time doing this.

Travis, I am loving this journey with you and PTX. I loved your emotional reaction to the message in this song. This is my favorite Todrick collaboration cause it’s so upbeat. You are now one of my favorite reactors. 💕💕
Dream but not too Big, Climb but not to High.......It is telling Black people and LGBTQ that we can exist, but to do it quietly, and Todrick said, OH HELL NO!
Love seeing you dance to this one, you're so sweet! I'm subscribing NOW🤍🤍🤍 thanks! (Also loved your message about the song's meaning🥺🤍) (Ps I have so much fun singing this song but I can't sing the part "left, right, right, left..." My tongue just can't do it 😂😂😂)
and not just grey, any color of the rainbow that you can dream up. you can do it, you can be it. any way you choose it. it's yours for the taking and let nobody tell you otherwise. all that matters is if it makes you happy. and if anyone tries to distinguish your flame then they don't deserve your time and energy and don't let them take up valuable real estate in your heart and mind. they aren't worth it.
I’m really enjoying your journey of all their music…all of them , PTX, Superfruit, Todrick and all the side projects, they really helped me through last year. I was furloughed for a year and three months and I binge watched over and over again.
One of my favorite Todrick Hall videos is of his collaboration with Brandy on a medley of songs from Cinderella. That particular version of Cinderella, staring the late, great Whitney Houston and Brandy, came out I believe in 1997. It is our family's favorite version of that classic! Todrick also loves that version, and invited Brandy to come and reprise her role as Cinderella. It is magical! I would love to see you react to it too! To make it easy, here is the link to the video: ruclips.net/video/hFjX5iOQjKQ/видео.html&ab_channel=todrickhall As always, I love your reactions. THank you so much!!
More Toddy! Please please please! Unless I'm misrembering the Trio and Toddy all went to the same Arlington, TX HS. Though Todd was Couple years ahead. I'm sure a bigger Trivia person will correct me if I'm wrong.
React to Dumb, and Low from Straight Outta Oz. The whole visual album is worth a watch. Bu the message of Dumb and the Beet of Low should not be missed!
Fun fact when Toddrick auditioned for American Idol Scott drove and sat with him even though they never showed Scott they both talk about it.
That’s awesome !
Scott Kirsten and Mitch together are known as "The Trio"
And the fans didn't dub them that, they came up with it long before pentatonix was even a thing
IIRC, it's what they called themselves in high school when they sang together.
Toddy does a spoof of PTX that is hilarious...and even funnier is the reaction that SF does for it
It's called Pentatodricks, & it's hilarious, but Chasie is right-watching Superfruit reacting to the video is the best way to watch!

and not just grey, any color of the rainbow that you can dream up. you can do it, you can be it. any way you choose it. it's yours for the taking and let nobody tell you otherwise. all that matters is if it makes you happy. and if anyone tries to distinguish your flame then they don't deserve your time and energy and don't let them take up valuable real estate in your heart and mind. they aren't worth it.
💜💜💜 thank you
I love your channel, you are such a genuine nice person.

I’m really enjoying your journey of all their music…all of them , PTX, Superfruit, Todrick and all the side projects, they really helped me through last year. I was furloughed for a year and three months and I binge watched over and over again.
Thanks for coming along !
The dancing is everything!! Fabulous reaction. Thank you.
So good! Love their collabs!
Don’t you just want this to be a Broadway Musical!!
Yes !!
I just added this song to basically every one of my playlists! ❤️ it!
So good !
I don't normally subscribe let alone comment but really enjoy your reactions, please watch the entire Straight Outta Oz!
I’ll check it out !
None of PTX is in them but check out 'Low', another Wizard of Oz inspired video with RuPaul or 'Rainin' Fellas', Todrick's take' It's Raining Men'.
Lost On You by Scott Hoying and Mario Jose!
You misremembered. Todrick grew up in Arlington and did musical theater with The Trio, but went to a different high school.
@@larrywt656 Thanks, knew the connection forgot the details.
❤️❤️❤️
Love me some Sup3rfruit. Love me some Travis. 🍓🥰

If you are comfortable with something a little beyond PG-13 you should check out Todrick's It's Raining Fellas
Have you done misbehavin or come along?
Misbehavin is one of my favorites!
