If u see Portuguese history u will check that Portugal stoped 2 times Spain from invading Portugal and we stooped the french during the Napoleonic wars 2 times also, but we lost our independence for just 60 years to a union with Spain not just Spain its Portugal and Spain. Conclusion: Portugal is not a very good country to invade for Spain and France.
As a portuguese i'd have to deny that, our navy is smaller and worse then even greece's navy and our armed forces compared to spain is much smaller in numbers as we'd have an extremely hard time to replace said losses in the battlefield, especially if it's equipment. As for our history, we got our asses handed to us by napoleon that our monarchy left the country to brazil leaving their people back home to be taken over by spanish and french occupiers which is what would later spark brazil to declare independence and a civil war in 1834, there is no reason for france to invade us no more unless they pull a iraq-us war situation on us but for spain it very much is as we'd have to adopt gorilla warfare type of fighting if we ever wanted independence back, or make the spanish collapse by tensions within portugal. So over all, we aren't in a great industrial or military status currently to defend off any french or spanish invaders
