As believers, we are not promised a life of ease and comfort. Rather, we are promised trials and hardship, and that is a guarantee. When Adam and Eve sinned, they ushered in a broken world filled with broken people, and that brokenness impacts us every single day.
Jesus Himself experienced a life of difficulty and pain, and He understands the suffering we experience. While trials are difficult and can cause us to feel discouraged or overwhelmed, God's Word reminds us that they are an opportunity for us to grow stronger in our faith and can surprisingly be a source of joy.
When we look back at our trials and see the ways in which God has grown our faith and brought us closer to Him, we can find peace and comfort in knowing that the ultimate goal has been achieved. Though trials can be hard, they can also be a beautiful reminder of God's love for us.
View your trials through the eyes of Jesus, He is not ignorant of your suffering, but understands it completely. He has not only suffered before you, but He is THE one who has actually suffered FOR you.
Run to Him for comfort therefore and allow Him to be the source of your joy and the answer to your distress.
