In rivals the ult players dont have shit on the melee players rn. Leff, bbats, stango, asashi, mang, forrest, (switch if u wanna count him as melee, hes a pm player but plays melee too) Ult doesnt really have ppl competing at the same lv
@callanharvey6264 the only player I listed that was at LMM was mang and he dq'd. LMM was a tiny rivals event, the only meaningful rivals tournies since launch have been the coinboxs
People say Wrastor is the best character, but I have only seen like 1 other Wrastor player on ranked. He definitely has sauce, but I also think hes got some issues. If you cant get your kill confirm early, then the percent racks up and you cant confirm it anymore. His shield pressure feels weak, like you can only cross up their shield and even then it can go wrong (safest is -5?). A lot of characters have an eff you move that kills and is safe on shield either through shield stun or from having enough range. And then on top of that, you are the lightest character in the game. Oh, and he's like the only character who is forced to approach while projectiles feel really strong. TLDR Wrastor feels like a very feast or famine character without having the raw kill power of say Jigglypuff, while having a lot of her same flaws
In melee it's generally good to short hop aerial and get to the ground as soon as possible on hit wiff or shield to follow up. Not sure if that is different but that's probably why Mang0 does it all the time in this game.
Ultimate was the first smash game to implement the short hop macro where if you press two jump buttons you short hop.
