There used to be a "Fridigidaire" manufacturing facility here in Edison, NJ. I used to go there as an outside contractor. They closed in the early 90's and it went abandoned for years. It got leveled and is now a bunch of stores including a "Costco".
Too bad it went out. A lot of good MFG companies are gone from CT as well and the fate of the ones remaining is questionable.
New Jersey has gone to hell. Many plants closed down. There was Ford plant on 939 U.S. Route 1 and occupied over 100 acres when it was open. Closed 2004.
I remember it well... Mrs. RW grew up in Edison. The Ford plant I remember making "Ranger" trucks as well as the "Pinto".
I just purchased one and thank you for this video. It helped me with setting it
good video but too loud for where we want to put it-great for a basement tho...I need a quieter one for our living room-space & a 70 pint. any thoughts??
The camera may be amplifying the noise a bit. This unit seems quieter than a standard window air conditioner to me. The only recommendation I can make is to stay away from the Honeywell units. I bought one of those first and it wouldn't even turn on. I returned it and bought this one.
Thank you for this video! Great job.
Hello. We are using the drain connector, but it's begun leaking at the hose connection after about 6 months of use. We've tried multiple hoses, changed out the rubber gaskets and hoses, cleaned the connector, tried using plumber's tape, to no avail. Still leaks. We found a new connector on genuine parts direct, but we're going to try to McGuyver it first by bypassing the threads on the part where it connects to the hose and using a fitted clear vinyl hose (the connection to the hose is where the problem is). Have you run into this problem and if so, what have you found the solution is? Thanks.
If its just leaky threads, try some Teflon plumbers tape. If there is a crack someplace you might be able to get away with JB weld or plastic epoxy of some kind. Otherwise, your best bet may be to replace the part as you are planning.
Does the tank still fill up with water when the garden hose is attached?
No, it all goes into the hose.
Hello, westill need to conected to the water or no...tks
Hopeless product. Only 6 months of use (1year of purchase) n it stopped working. Will never buy their products again.
Mine quit working after two years but they sent a new one free under warranty
