    The only reason people would say to avoid the Yoshi's Island port is because the red tint on certain coins (that were red coins) was removed.
    And that makes it bad for reasons, it's bad for newcomers...but that tint wasn't on every hidden red coin to begin with

    • @smashmaster521

      As someone who doesn't care about 100% Completion for Yoshi's Island, I can safely say that the GBA version is a pretty solid way to play Yoshi's Island.
      On an unrelated note, It took me years to realize that Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3 and Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island were the same game when I was a kid.

    2 valid complaints I've seen of Yoshi's Island on the GBA are 1) the lack of a red tint on Red Coins makes them more difficult to find in the levels and 2) the new bonus levels they added into the game have some BONKERS level design that's made super difficult thanks to the small screen.

    • @mattb6522
      @mattb6522 3 года назад +2

      Yeah, there are many reasons I prefer the SNES version to the GBA one. The SNES version has smoother graphical scaling, more vibrant colors, no annoying Yoshi voice, and a lack of screen crunch.
      I also really detested the extra bonus levels in the GBA version. On one hand it was nice having extra levels, but on the other hand, they just weren't fun. The Endless World of Yoshis is up there as one of my least favorite levels in a Mario game ever.

    "Ye Olde" English is Early Modern English. Shakespearean. (though usually it's written like a weird parody and is applied to medieval people for some reason) Old English would be like
    Hƿæt! ƿē Gār-Dena in ġeār-dagum,
    þēod-cyninga, þrym ġefrūnon, etc.
    Though really, Frog is from 900-1000 years before Early Modern English developed, so the above should be how he's talking.

    If they ever re-release the SMB games, instead of just having the original versions, or just slapping an all-stars roms onto the cart, they could put a complete edition, with all new visuals, with the option to switch between them, them the originals, and the all-stars versions, all the extra levels from the gba versions, and without the screen crunch.
    Also, even the You Vs Boo stuff from the GBC port could be included.

    I might actually not have a problem with Yoshi's Island on the GBA aside from the colors. Other people bring up red coins, but I have trouble noticing the tint on the SNES version so that doesn't change anything for me.
    I prefer Frog speaking normally, the Shakespeare dialogue has some charm, but I think it would wear out its welcome quickly. Plus it comes off as really odd if nobody else is doing it.
