Are you kidding this game completely sucked. We obviously haven"t played the same Syberia, why don't you mention the howful it is to play. The facial expression and the howful dialogue
Hey there, thank you for your comment! Agreed, Syberia 3 is not a technical marvel by any stretch of the phrase. But you can't judge it out of context. I wouldn't be fair to it, if I compared it to an AAA product. Compared to most other 2.5D adventure games that I've played (and I've played A LOT), it definitely stands out. On the other hand, if you compare it to, say, L.A. Noire, it's like holding a candle to the sun. Regarding gameplay, I understand that they've added a traditional point 'n click interface, after complaints regarding the gamepad controls. Unfortunately, I had already finished the game by then, so I don't know whether it was implemented properly. I will agree that the gamepad controls left much to be desired, but having grown up playing "ancient" video games from the '80s and '90s, I didn't really find it that hard to adapt to it. Regarding dialogue, plot and the overall scenario of the game, as with other media (e.g. movies), it's a matter of taste. Again, please bear in mind that I grew up playing adventure games that came out in the '80s, so maybe my bar is not set very high when it comes to production values :) If you found the dialogue to be awful, I can only accept that, but I can't change my opinion because yours is different. Thanks again for commenting on my review!
@@ektelion I am not saying the franchise is bad but this game is a huge let down. I finished the 1st one when it came out and thought it was a good game. Then I got the second one, I was a bit disappointed but I still liked the puzzles. But this one was the biggest let down since it's been almost 15 years since the last one was released and little or next to nothing have changed from the 1 st which was released almost 2 decades ago! The times have changed the technology evolved but they didn't. The gameplay with the remote where worst than the 1st resident evil that came out 25 years ago!!! Where if you don't change direction as the camera move you turn around in circle. And don't get me started on the dialogues, between the Youkols which you spend the entire game with with their "took took" and their "me no like" , it's so dorky it's almost racist and their obsession of calling you miss Kate Walker every single sentence got really annoying. It was ok in the first because Oscar was a robot and didn't say it half as often as they do, but that was really annoying. I'm the type of guy that likes talking to every single person in adventure games but I didn't in this one because the Youkols really got on my nerves! So yes I played old games too but there is a time when you can't carry on and make a good game worst at every release and the game as to get better as the technology evolves.
@@chrisverr7001 I get your point and it is definitely legitimate. I guess I simply wasn't as annoyed as you were by these aspects. However, again, I must stress the importance of context. Unfortunately, the golden age of adventure games (i.e. the Lucas Arts and Sierra days from the early to mid '90s) are long gone. In my opinion, the only truly worthwhile efforts we've seen since were made by Daedalic Entertainment (with some other commendable efforts by King Art entertainment and some indie developers). And these were classic 2D point 'n click adventure games or basic 2.5D games ("basic" in terms of their technical aspects). My point is that judging by the declining popularity of adventure games as a genre, it's highly unlikely that we'll ever see a AAA production coming out of that genre :( I get why your standards were way higher than mine. I guess it's as they say, the lower your expectations, the greater the enjoyment :)
@@ektelion Well speaking of Lucas Art, I do find all the remastered " escape from monkey Island " to be AAA , so there are some diamonds in the rough. I just was extremely disappointed and frustrated, by that fact, you might be right your expectations were not as high as mine were. I was probably hoping for too much and as you said after "LA Noire" or especially one my favourite "Detroit" (with the overwhelming feelings the storyline makes you feel) the bar for the graphics was set pretty high. Well anyway thanks for the replies, carry on the good work and I enjoyed this debate, so take care and see you in the next video😉
