I like how in Bloodborne it’s asymmetrical in what you want to do after a backstab. If you have a Dex build, take the riposte, if you have a strength build, take the charged R2. They didn’t develop the game with the intention of people beating it level 1.

Slight correction at 8:37, you can actually still get 96 adp even without the ladle. It just requires you to get the Mad Warriors Mask, which requires you to farm a really annoying black phantom in Belfry Sol. Looks really cool with the peasant gear too.
I'm really surprised that you found Allant to be a harder main-game boss than Gehrman. I remember Gehrman's blunderbuss killing with only 2 pellets back when I did a BL4 run
@@carlschrappen9712 They're definitely fast for the game they're in, but if someone is capable of fully dodging Gehrman's blunderbuss on reaction, but can't react to Allant's fastest attack chain, I'd find that surprising

I’d say from my mere two game experience DkS1 is easy for the base game but the dlc (which mine was before the dlc even came to dks1) I have no real perspective for but it seems potentially a lot harder.
I feel like if you combine hyper mode with fire magic against old king allant it wouldnt be too bad Edit: I was right. Fire Spray, Morion Blade, ring of magical sharpness, clever rat ring and Monk's Headwrappings, at level 1, made Old King Allant pathetically easy. I beat him 2nd try
Chaos Reinforced Club with 10 humanity scaling>Blacksmith hammer. Better stagger and bleed and can one hand. Blacksmith hammer is only better in Lost Izalith cuz stuff is immuned to fire.
Yeah it is better but I value the blacksmith hammer because you don’t need to farm any materials or grab embers. It’s just an easy way to get a good weapon. You can also have it maxed out before o&s

Allant has attacks that are flat out unreactable, that's probably why.

It's not that bad if you get the ninja flip ring and a well upgraded set of armor.

For bloodborne when backstabbing/ parrying you plunge your fist in the enemy . Maybe that's why your weapon isn't counted
