honestly, i know this may be a bit different compared to other people, but i use a certain build for a specific weapon on all modes.. like the build id use for say the kensa pro would be the same for zones, towers, rain, and clam. As for what gear to use, id first suggest using what feels comfortable to you.. since that is what will allow you to play the best you possibly can. I wouldn't say there is a best ability, but the more common abilities you see in matches are swim speed, ink saver sub, special charge, ink resistance, main power up, ninja squid, stealth jump, and object shredder

little bit late but I recommend using the weapon type that generally fits you the most (eg slosher blaster splatter) and whatever fits you go with it also I recommend getting tips from high ranked players on RUclips. Try to find the mode you are good at too.

@@DHftw yeah I get what your saying. I just wish that the made this game more enjoyable, because it’s becoming to where people on this game are starting to act like maniacs 😖. I wish they had a mode where we can watch a lobby and lean form other peeps techniques and skills.
@@bjnation2752 a spectator mode for ranked and league would be pretty cool tbh, especially if you werent in the mood to play yourself, just watch. u can even set it up to where you bet on matches, and if u bet correctly and win, u get chunks or something. i doubt nintendos crappy servers could handle that but it would be pretty awesome to have something like that in splat3. what do you mean people in this game are starting to act like maniacs? lol how so?
