Of course it needs to connect with both the shade motors and the router so ideally it would be in the middle somewhere or closer to the motors as I guess those Wifi antennes are less powerful than the router. This said, I have it downstairs in the corner of the living room and thus the opposite of the router and I also have an Aqara switch that connects to it upstairs and it all works like a charm.
does the hub need to be plugged in near your router or you can plug it in another room downstairs?
