      Quite hideous, hopefully it was produced knowing it was a press car, going to have quirks to be worked out, and was going to be abused. Would hope customer's vehicles received more love.

    Mate, you have my upmost respect. You've started from scratch, believed in what you were doing. Built a new purpose built unit. Taken on Terry. Who I love too..... And this whole thing with Aston Martin, you've handled with total professionalism. I applaud you. I've been watching your vids for around 18 months and thoroughly enjoy every single one. I wish you every success and hope one day you will employ more minions (😘} and have a bigger and better unit while you're sat at home editing videos for us 👍

    Good day! That interior ..... what a place. It's a sort of styling detour that has been going on with other cars of this quality. Even Porsche has gone the route of applying bright red decals on some of their models. I have seen neon green in some Astons and Porsches as well. That interior would have been epic in a deep blood red - even a deep green would have been less goping.

      Porsche's and the rest of the german finishes (and any other brand that is owned by a German brand, for example Lamborghini) are pretty top notch, everything seems to be somewhat color dependent. What do you think, Jim?

    Great job Jim amazing. Question how did you know how much you can cut into the paint to remove the defects? On the small edges on the rear of the car you said you were worried about burning through the paint, do you measure the paint depth or just know from experience? I'd be worried that over time with lots of cutting that the clear coat may be compromised?

    Brilliant video. To pay 200,000 pounds for a vehicle where the paintwork to the average person looks good, but once a professional such as yourself demonstrates the poor workmanship. To have this type of iconic car be allowed to leave the factory in such condition, highlights the standard of Quality Control. I hope the owner highlights this to the manufacturer in his article. Well done from Down Under.

    It's crazy to think that manufacturers are charging so much for their top end cars and they don't even invest in a couple of people to polish and refine the paint work to it's best. Prestige cars rolling out the factory with the same standard of finish as a family car! 😂 Great end result though 😎

    • @collinhopper7542
      @collinhopper7542 5 лет назад +1

      You'd actually be surprised about how many parts from other manufacturers comprise an Aston and how that correlates to build quality. I've seen a few 'no accident' Astons with terrible and inconsistent texture.

    • @hdetail
      @hdetail 5 лет назад +2

      I'm always so surprised at the orange peel in paintwork, you would expect it on cheaper cars and paint, but when you're getting to 100k+ for a car, you would expect paintwork to be smoothed out etc.

    • @davekelly7165
      @davekelly7165 5 лет назад

      @@collinhopper7542 Yeah, it's not unusual for manufacturers to swap and share technology through all levels of vehicles. It would be nice to think that if you were buying a car like this it would be unique and bespoke. More than likely going to find a few Ford bits under the bonnet!

    • @davekelly7165
      @davekelly7165 5 лет назад +2

      @@hdetail Absolutely. I imagine that as the detailing industry grows and people look for these sorts of imperfections, they will have to improve. I always think BMW's paint work has a heavy orange peel finish, looks more like a powder coat in some cases!

  • @tedwhitehall2540
    @tedwhitehall2540 5 лет назад

    This is a great video, showing the defects from the factory should raise some eyebrows, but very common on Astons and other very expensive models, you would expect better for the cost of these cars but at least they keep us busy lol.

  • @razvandranga2960
    @razvandranga2960 5 лет назад +2

    Excellent video very nice I follow all your detailing work but I want to see more from you about technieq and how do you chose your pads( or you use just microfiber pads?) your polish or compound,but what I want to see it how do you test pannel to see which tipe of paint do you have to deal whit, and also where the things can go wrong because everybody can see the difference , between good and bad when you the light on the panit, but not everybody can do it( if you understand what I mean). I respect you for what do you do, but I think you can give some more explination about the work on the car than the car it self. I hope you understand me what I want to learn from this channel. Can you make a video to show what can be the difference between one stage polish and perfect. Thank you very much and you do a great job and I hope my message it s not to long. 😁😁😁

    Absolute awesome turnaround but what a dull, bland, boring colour! For a moment I thought you had video'd in monochrome when you were doing the paint inspection.😆
    Fantastic result in the end but a lot of time and effort put into this one. You'll be charging double whenever a customer looks for a quote on an Aston Martin in future no doubt.
