Milling Small Dirty Douglas Fir Logs Woodmizer LT15 Sawmill

- One of the problems with the Woodmizer LT15 sawmill is it doesn’t come with the debarker attachment. This can be a problem when working with dirty logs. I will show you how I clean up dirty logs to make them less likely to dull blades. I am cutting up some small Douglas fir logs into lumber and timbers.
These logs come from bug killed Douglas fir trees that I salvaged off my forest land. You can watch that video here.

Lol I love your humor..cheers
Thanks Grizz.
I did get myself a half dozen pairs of those gloves!!!
Good idea buddy, I've always seen them around but have never tried them out.
I have had a couple pair of the polar penguins ( yellow ish insulated ones) !
Thanks for sharing & saw safely buddy 🌲🧡👍💪💪🧡👍👌
Love Your humor and Your videos !
Greetings from Serbia !
Thanks Igor for watching all the way from Serbia.
You always make me laugh 😂 Nice job milling those dirty logs.
Thanks for watching and for all your comments. I’m glad you’re getting some entertainment out of it.
Hope your bribery worked!! Great video!! Stay Hydrated and Have a Safe Day
Yep it worked like a charm. Thanks David.
The last of the video "turbo mode" is actually called Ludacris Speed.
VERY enjoyable video....even though you don't know about Ludacris Speed.
I don’t think ludicrous speed is an available feature on the LT15. It’s a step above turbo speed, and I think it only comes on the mills with debarkers.
@@WilsonForestLands Mea culpa. You're right. When I got my mill I chose to skip that option. Too $$$$$$.
At the beginning of the video I was about to ask if you wanted cheese with that whine but I decided not to.
OH! WAIT! I guess I did anyway.
Never mind.
Thanks Dave for not saying that. It would be a little bit rude if you did. Not to mention appropriately fitting and humorous.
I made a peeling spud from a Toyota truck leaf spring. I peeled about a 3' path for the blade to enter the log. I t is slow but. blades last longer. This year I'm going to try an impact drill with a tile remover bit.

Somewhere I saw someone building a spud from a leaf spring. Sounds like a good idea.
Glad to see another awesome video buddy, I am definitely a regular ish mode guy, I tend to mill on the slower side, 😂
I like the way your band comes out of your logs, you definitely know when you're in need of a band change, can't wait for the next one !👌💪💪🧡🌲🌲🌲
Most of the time I am in regular ish mode too. Turbo mode takes way too much editing.
I bought a debarker for a chain saw. Basicly a planer. Unfortunately it doesn't fit any of my 5 saws so I will have to get a saw for it
I know those exist, I have wondered if they work well or not.
@@WilsonForestLands Well as soon as I get a saw head for it, we can meet over at your place or mine and try it out, we are both in the same area. I'm out in Wimer.
@@garyschoeller8769 It would bee good to give it a try. My email address is on my about page.
On the continuing subject of spuds (not from Idaho). I have used a lawn edger with a slight curve hammered in. It works very well for the beetle loosened bark and you don't have to bend over as much. The steel is surprising good for a yard tool .
I’m not sure if I would have ever thought of using a lawn edger. Sounds like a good idea, or maybe even coming up with an attachment for a string trimmer.
I like to use a sharp shooter!
Good video
I would love to put my sawmill in Turbo speed , but I don’t think I myself could keep up with it. Have seen the debarker attachment that hooks on the end of the chainsaw bar ? At one time when I had the Norwood sawmill I started to by one and put on a chainsaw that I don’t use much. Great end bloop
Take care
I have seen those attachments advertised. I have wondered if they work well or not. I’ve never seen anybody actually using them. Thanks for watching.
Why are these logs dirtier than the other logs you mill?
No more turbo mode for you. I have to wait to long in between videos to have them race before my eyes.
That’s it, turbo mode has been un-enabled.
Turbo mode takes a lot of editing, so I am actually happy to have it un-enabled. Back to regular-ish speed.
Where's the turbo mode button on my saw?🤣
It should be to the lower left of your auto pilot button.
Ok how much extra did you have to pay for turbo mode on your sawmill and will woodmizer turbo mode work on a harbor freight? Lol cheers
I got my turbo mode module on the black market, so I am not at liberty to say. I heard a rumor from my connection that they are not making them available for Harbor Freight until next year.
Quit yer yawin and get on with your work so we can sit back, have a cup of tea and a chocky biscuit and watch you sweat ! :P
