I don't even know if they use Ableton...But they have such an individual style with so many sounds I've never heard before. It is just insane
Basic FM House Bass preset. No unison. Rolling pattern on B0 every 16th beat. EQ - Low cut and boast on the lows. Duplicate channel, reduce the time on WT and classic unison to create stereo. Low cut the lows. Add overdrive 10%. Another low cut to remove lows from the overdrive. Group the two channels, adjust volume. Sidechain the group.

Not sure I understood what you mean... If you want to add some "air" on this bassline buss you can add it with an EQ8 or some "air" plugins...

I followed along exactly what you said and used the same note and mine sounds nothing like this? What did I do wrong? The initial preset sounds so much different for me. I dont get it.
Maybe you missed a step...?
@@DaFresh same here.... did exactly what u did - and its just sound different ..
i found the problem - look at the "BASIC SHAPE" of the OSC 2 ... just change it manually to the "REAL " basic shapes SAW - and that's it :)

Did you just duplicate the bass to get a more full sounding bass? Like that part isn't necessary if you like the quality of the bassline right?
It's not necessary, it's a possibility. If you like the quality of the bass at one step, keep it like this
Hey Da Fresh, why do you use a SC channel and not the kick for the side chain ? To have the pumping effect even If the kick is muted ?
Think about it this way: sometimes in your track your kick stops (for example going into a break). If you would side chain the bass to the kick, the pumping effect would go away when the kicks stops playing. However, when you side chain it to a dedicated channel it'll always have the pumping effect on the bass, even if the kick is not playing.

And if you put the kick and bass in same group than you have to put the compressor on both bass lines?
Sidechain compression ? You can have a "bass group" (bass 1 + bass 2) inside the "kick and bass group", so the compressor will be applied on both basslines at the same time if you put it on the "bass group" like I do in the video.

You have to create it. Duplicate your kick channel, mute it, and name it "SC" for sidechain 😉
