One of the most ancient surviving commentaries on the Gospel of John. The author of this commentary is Origen of Alexandria who lived from 185 - 253 AD. He was the most renowned and respected teacher of his day and he died a martyr. He wrote this between 226 - 229 AD. Probably sometime in early April. Glad you seemed to find it edifying. Origen was the most respected and beloved teacher in his own day. There was a lot of slander and false accusations hundreds of years after he died which is very evil.
Glad your'e planning to continue - I've listened to this like 4 times since yesterday and am going to search for the commentary on Kindle and try and get a head start on April @@ante-nicenechristianity
@@ante-nicenechristianity I would add that someone being more beloved doesn't make him more authorative. Christ was the most hated. I suppose I need to repeat myself that being critical of a man who is held in high regards doesn't equal slander. I love your mission as a teacher, but some accusations must be dropped. I also have dropped mine of the hell denial. I was very wrong. I do hope you also can say that you were wrong about accusing me of condemning someone. Condemning is one thing, biblical judgment another.
@@omegatafkal We want to protect our viewers from the lies of the Orthodox and Catholics, whose forefathers DID condemn a righteous man, a holy virgin and martyr. The lies against Origen come from those who anathematized him and tried to burn his writings. Once you learn about how much the heretics hated Origen and targeted his writings to be corrupted, you'll see that he deserves our defense. Let us defend the man and show gratitude for his labor, not repeat these lies which scare others from reading his writings.
@AlphaStudios-lh1rz Origen has been slandered unlike any other Church father, and God bless you for seeing through their accusations. We intend to do a big video at some point in the near future demonstrating how irrational and insane the people were who accused him.
Do you have Origens commentary on Romans? It seems there are a lot of extant works that were recently translated and are very expensive but may have Rufinus' hand in them too. Its a shame.
@livingbranches777 There are online downloads available if you know where to look. You could always email me and ask for the files, I could send them over. However, I think you have been misled by the scholars on Rufinus. Everything I have ever read from the man has been him saying that he only removes the parts that were added to by heretics. Scholars take this and then assume that he must have outright altered and re-wrote parts. Scholars have big imaginations and they are very mean-spirited.
Good to read, even though I view him as a more grey area compared to the church fathers before him. He did not believe in an eternal hell, which already disqualifies him. Which is not to say he shouldn't be read, but he's no one I'd trust.
If you are going to condemn a man then condemn him for what you know he said, not what someone told you he said. Origen has been slandered by very evil people. Origen didn't deny eternal punishment.
@@ante-nicenechristianity By all respect, I've not condemned anyone. Where you get the idea that I have condemned him is greek to me. All I am saying is that he does not have the authority Christians of the first two centuries did, from the time when the church was free from division.
@@omegatafkal He was considered an authority in his day, and we still consider him one. His writings have been adulterated more than any other church father's. We're making a video about it so that people won't repeat the slanders against him anymore.
@@ante-nicenechristianity Keep up the good work! Origen absolutely represents the most advanced and clear thinking system of theological insight up to 253 AD. He saw Persian Zoroastrian "World Age Passage Allegory" in the Christian Message the best. Even better than St. Paul's and St. John's Gnostic Cosmology.

Good job on a new video
Love this!!
Still to this day my favorite church father.
Thanks for posting.
I hope you get a podcast cause this is good audio quality and more than one hour
Which Bible do you use and believe in?
This man was unjustly condemned.

Thank you for the upload, Nolan. I do wonder however if Epiphanius actually accused Origen of being a Unitarian.
Epiphanius and others made a lot of false accusations against Origen. We have an upcoming video intended to decisively exonerate him.
@@ante-nicenechristianity Thank you!
