I joined your channel a little over a year ago when I opened up RUclips for the first time. My sister sent me one of your videos. I want to tell you that I have scrolled back to this, your first video. As time passes I will watch them all. I’m not real good at my phone yet, maybe someday. What a gift, what a body of work you have created. It will be cherished by family, friends and all those who come on board later. Thank you. I see the research, time and effort you put into each one. Yet, you have kept true to yourself, never being fake or putting on airs. Thank you. I live just across the border into Oklahoma. I’m 72 and came from humble beginning living on a farm. It was off-grid as they call it now-a-days. I wouldn’t trade those years for anything. I relate to you and your life. Again thank you for a better approach at today’s troubling times. HE is coming soon. In Christian love. 🌸
I love your channel. It has brought back such sweet memories for me. I am a nurse and I use to have a home health patient whose little 90 year old wife always, always had a sock it to me cake baked and sitting in her antique cake plate on the old farmhouse table. That was the first time I had ever heard of and tasted a sock it to me cake.I soon became family to them and them to me and she would always fix me a cold glass of sweet tea and cut me a piece of that cake. She would even prepare me a country dinner on some of the days she knew I was coming. She would fry the best chicken I ever ate and sometimes she would bake a ham. I am in tears right now thinking of all the trouble she went to on the days I would come to check on not only her husband who was the patient, but her too who became my best friend.I told her over and over not to do those things for me. I told her it was against the rules, that I was not suppose to be eating with the patients and the families, and then one day I walked in the back door and she had got her sweet husband up and brought him to the table to break bread with me.Okay I am full on crying now remembering that day like it was yesterday. She was trying to show me how she appreciated me by cooking for me. She didn't owe me that or anything really. It was my pleasure to do for him and her and I was getting paid. They both became friends that I will never forget. He was on hospice before he passed away which meant he had a different nurse, but she called me and I was right there with her when he took his last breath.
And I’m tearing up thinking of those dear, sweet people who took you into their hearts. They sound like my grandparents, who were the kindest people I’ve ever known. There is something about people who are good and truly kind, honest, moral, and always thinking of others. You will always have those memories with you and I hope you have been able to make your own as well. ❤️❤️
I'm from Story, Arkansas. I stumbled upon your channel and you remind me of home. I'm finally getting to go back home from Washington to develope about 9 acres family land and start my own homesteading journey. Wish me luck and Thank you for sharing your homesteading life. God bless you and yours!
I love to watch you cook. Can you come to my house? Lolol. Yum. All the things you make take me back to my childhood. You cook just like my mom and grandmothers cooked. As I age I find myself cooking the “old” way a lot. Thanks for the memories. 👏🏻💕👏🏻 God bless.

I remember when I was 11 years old I would make my daddy a cake he called it sweet bread. I used the receipt from a old, old cook book that my Mama's Mama gave her when she got married my Mom passed in 1992 and she was 62, when I moved out on my own Mama gave me that cookbook and I was 18 when I moved to Atlanta Ga . now I'm 67. I sill have that cookbook . It's kind of blotted where I was so small when I used the mixer it would sling cake mix on the page with the plain cake receipt on it. Every time I open that book I think of my Daddy. Thanks again for stirring up Precious memories . God bless I will try this receipt

I've been using a product called Kentucky kernel that you get at Walmart it's a preseasoned flour with salt and pepper and it's incorporated throughout the flour. I love the stuff for my fried Chicken, Chicken Fried Steak and all kinds of things. It may not be for everyone but I never know who's gonna show up for dinner after I've got it started and it just made it easier for me to throw that one or two more in the pot on short term notice after it was started. The Grandmomma's that have gone before are probably glad that the tradition of no one leaving hungry is still being passed down.
I love the Kentucky Kernel flour as well. If you can find some tenderized pork steaks, soak them in a little egg and skim milk and then dredge in the seasoned flour. Heat a little olive oil and a pat of butter in a skillet and fry the pork chops for about 4 to 5 minutes per side until GBD(Golden Brown Delicious).
I love smothered pork chops to. Your cake looks so good to. When my Momma was still alive. her favorite way to eat cake was hot out of the oven with butter on it. God Bless you and Mr. Brown.

This is very similar to a cake I grew up with but we used butter flavor in the batter and the drizzle of icing. We knew it as Bavarian Coffee Cake. This was what everyone would ask for for their birthdays and special occasions. So amazingly moist and delicious!!

My momma made this cake in the 80's . My daddy loved dessert well he loved to eat period LOL. He passed away 11 years ago this July 4th . Momma doesn't cook much these days that's my job now. And it's my pleasure to do so. This video brought back so many memories . I sure miss my daddy. To this day when I cook something new I say Pop (That's what we called him most of the time) you would like this and blow a kiss to heaven . Thank you Ms Lori for always making me smile.

I made this a few days ago. It is easy to make, very tasty, moist and looks lovely under my glass cake dome. Maybe I didn’t distribute the streusel properly. It sunk a bit making it hard to get out of the pan but I put a little heavier glaze on it and it looked like it came from a nice bakery! It keeps quite well too. My husband loves it. Thanks for sharing!

Watching you cook reminds me of being in my Grandma Rosie’s kitchen as a kid. I loved to watch her hands work dough or peel potatoes. She could cook about anything and make it taste good. Thank you for stirring happy memories for me. ♥️
Got a "two fer" with his video. Two recipes in one, which is awesome! And they each look delicious! I'm enjoying your videos so much, since finding them by accident a couple of weeks ago. The recipes are FABULOUS, and the over-all tone of the videos are warm and welcoming. God bless, and keep 'em coming!

Thank you Thank you Thank you. I've been looking for a quick and easy coffee cake. I am responsible for hosting early morning meetings at the office and have needed something like your sock-it-to-me cake for a long time to serve with coffee. Your cake is a hit!! I make your cake the night before and it costs next to nothing. Thank you!
Oh both the chops and the cake look so good. I love mushrooms, but my hubs feels like he is eating deer food when he eats them; I threaten to throw in some acorns so he can get the real feel of the deer feast. 😁 I'm going to try them both, anyway!

Just can’t get enough of these great videos! I’ve just found a great pampered chef stoneware bundt pan at the thrift store and this is the perfect cake recipe for it. We have our own home raised pork in the freezer and you can bet l’ll be trying out your smothered pork chops too😍. God bless y’all and thank you so much for passing on the wonderful tips and recipes❤️❤️❤️
New here and have saved so many of your recipes. My granny use to make homemade blackberry dumplings. I was 3 and tagged along n the mountain of Tennessee with her while she picked. I can still taste them. Not sure if that season is over but would love to have a good southern recipe. Love your channel.
Oh my!! That looked so good!! Mrs. Lori, could you show how to can spiced apple rings? My mama used to serve pork chops with homemade spiced apple rings. I tried canned ones but I didn't like them. Homemade is better!! Than you!! XO ❤
Ms Lori....I love ur recipes! On the smothered pork chops ...what was that brownish liquid you poured into the pan with the onions & mushrooms? I missed that detail...was it some kind of broth? Please advise as I want to make these soon! Looks so delicious and I like pork chops smothered in gravy! I scroll U Tube all the time looking for ur channel...U make everything seem so simple but delicious...Thanks a lot for all ur effort in sharing great recipes with us...God Bless🙏💕

My kind of meal... smothered pork chops and sockatoome cake. Yum yum 😁😅
In my opinion, there is one thing that smells better than cooking onions and that's a freshly opened can of coffee! I dont drink coffee but oh my goodness.........the smell!
Hahahahaha. This is making me drool. Oh my
When my husband says “mushrooms have no taste”. I say “well that’s more for this shroom lover.” 😂🥰

So sorry about your daddy
Beautiful memories
God Bless xoxoxo

I made this a few days ago. It is easy to make, very tasty, moist and looks lovely under my glass cake dome. Maybe I didn’t distribute the streusel properly. It sunk a bit making it hard to get out of the pan but I put a little heavier glaze on it and it looked like it came from a nice bakery! It keeps quite well too. My husband loves it. Thanks for sharing!
Love the Sockittome Cake!!!! Thanks for sharing!
You gave me the perfect excuse to make both of these.....the weekend ! Both look sooooo delicious! 🤤😋💕💕💕thank you for another great video!

Watching you cook reminds me of being in my Grandma Rosie’s kitchen as a kid. I loved to watch her hands work dough or peel potatoes. She could cook about anything and make it taste good. Thank you for stirring happy memories for me. ♥️
Thank you Melanie, makes me Happy, God Bless, xoxoxo
Got a "two fer" with his video. Two recipes in one, which is awesome! And they each look delicious! I'm enjoying your videos so much, since finding them by accident a couple of weeks ago. The recipes are FABULOUS, and the over-all tone of the videos are warm and welcoming. God bless, and keep 'em coming!
I just love how you don't use mixes...you do everything from scratch.
Well I use mixes sometimes
Love smothered pork chops especially with mushrooms and onions.

I love your recipes. They look so yummmy! God bless you.

New here and have saved so many of your recipes. My granny use to make homemade blackberry dumplings. I was 3 and tagged along n the mountain of Tennessee with her while she picked. I can still taste them. Not sure if that season is over but would love to have a good southern recipe. Love your channel.
Thank you so much, I appreciate it! Xoxoxo
