  • Ukraine continues to be on a military roll. Its army has made its biggest breakthrough against Russian forces in the south of the country since the war there began.
    (Subscribe: bit.ly/C4_News_Subscribe)
Ukrainian troops are advancing near the southern city of Kherson after recapturing several villages in the region. They've also consolidated gains in the east.
Our International Editor Lindsey Hilsum has tracked the route of the Ukrainian counter-offensive from Izium toward Lyman - stopping in the villages of Yatskivka and Sviatogirsk along the way.
Filmed and edited by Soren Munk and produced by Rob Hodge.

As you are an army veteran as I am you should know full well the world of propaganda. It is blatantly obvious to me this is a proxy war between NATO and Russia. The Ukrainian leadership know this yet are sending their own fellow countrymen to the front lines as NATO's cannon fodder. I am not pro Ukraine due to the fact Ukrainian forces have been shelling their fellow citizens in the Donbas and Luhansk regions since 2014. I am also not pro Russia due to the fact Russia sent forces into Ukraine. I can understand why (to protect the Russian speaking populations of these regions). At the end of the day war serves no purpose but to enrich those individuals and companies who profit from it. The sheer destruction and the many thousands of wasted lives due to the arrogance and insanity of today's leaders should never be forgiven.

I wish that NATO and the U.S troops would just go to Ukraine and remove all the Russians troops out of Ukraine then the Russians would run back even faster to their country knowing not to mess with NATO or even the U.S, but yea I know we have to take it easy cause we don't want to let Putin press that nuke button if he panics.
But it is a good thing we are delivering aid to Ukraine so they can fight better.

Thank you for focusing of the suffering of civilians. I'm haunted by a report I saw a few months ago when the Russians were just about to take Izium. The residents were told to evacuate but there are always those who dig in. A British reporter talked to a family of four as they were returning from a forage for as much food as the could find before hiding in a basement with neighbours. There was a cute 5 or 6 year old boy and the most adorable little girl, with glasses and long honey blond hair, about 8 or 9. She told the reporter: "I'm not scared, I'm the big sister, that's why I'm not scared." As she spoke she kept flinching and startling every time bombs exploded nearby.
Every day as I follow the invasion of Ukraine, I think about that little girl, and I pray she survived. Now that the area has been liberated, I keep hoping I'll catch a glimpse of her. But the news shows how destroyed the region has been--and the mass graves of Izium hold the bodies of 10 children. Even if none of them are my Eldest Daughter Syndrome sister...they are someone else's daughter or son. All of them, no matter their age, are someone's daughter or son.

Was heartbreaking to see the decimation of the villages, where innocent civilians are still living in and the destruction of buildings of faith. Many Ukrainians and Ruzzians share the same faith which makes it harder to understand why. The sad part is Ukrainian troops having to destroy their own lands and potentially injuring or killing their own people, just to get them back. That is the brutal part!

Unfortunately there are far too many Americans who either want "peace at any cost", or actually sympathize with Putin.
Putin's fury at the West isn't misplaced. He's getting his Tsarist ambitions thoroughly kicked by a country he planned to roll over in a few days. In his ex-USSR mindset, he had no choice but to invade - his Black Sea fleet is helpless without Crimea, and Crimea doesn't have enough water without Southern Ukraine. Likewise, he didn't have a choice but to put troops into the Kherson pocket.
Ukraine's success isn't a credit to the West - even in this piece, you can hear the U.S. spokespersun talking about immediate peace - but it's definitely been with Western help. I look forward to the Crimea having an extremely thirsty Winter - because force is the only thing Russia has ever responded to.

@@rogerout8875 I have donated to charities that have helped transport refugees out of the country and into Poland. My family has housed refugees in our home. What else can I do? I can't stop this war by my own strength, it is beyond me. All I have left is faith and prayer to the lord Jesus Christ.
