@@BrendanPerkins trying to achieve that sound on my Rick 4003 using a compressor and SansAmp Bass Driver (in that order). Any tips you can offer?

Try the compression after the Sansamp, that way the expression and dynamics are fully picked up, and then the compressor levels the signal.
