I use regularly Capture one for my e-commerce shooting.
I'd like to mention "renaming" raw file names with product references and providing a contact sheet are remarkably useful. These are crucial functions I use.
That also makes your client's work easier after the shooting.
Thanks Masa.
Thanks Karl, excellent information as usual.
Very welcome
Thank you Karl Taylor for these 10 reasons. CaptureOne is the way to go when you don't have a Hasselblad camera, and it's way superior in almost any way to lightroom IMO. I wish you had a more in deep tutorial for CaptureOne.
We're working on one.
@@VisualEducationStudio hello there Sir I am a huge fan of your work and thanks for making this insightful tutorial video about shooting tethered. Now I’ve got a question about shooting tethered in Lightroom why won’t my photos also load into my memory card inside my camera. Thanks in advance for answering my question it’s greatly appreciated as you are greatly appreciated also.
When I started watching your videos a few months ago I found immediate benefits for shooting tethered. It changed my workflow for the better and I've been enjoying practicing product photography and some still life. It was also a tremendous help for a stop motion animation I did last year as I could see results immediately and shooting remotely meant there was no risk of camera shake.
Thanks so much!
Great to hear.
Just watched your free course on your site and as a beginner I feel like it doubled my confidence and grasping of concepts! Bless you my man you’re awesome
And those gold dress shots!🤯🙌
Great to hear!
Thank you so much for bringing clarity to this subject @KarlTaylorPhotography! 💻 💯 🙌🏽 📷
Glad it was helpful!
@@VisualEducationStudio Thank you for your Inspiration and Tips 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟📷💯
The BEST piece of kit I've bought in the last four years is a 13" MacBook Pro. Tethering has made the biggest difference (and reduced countless questions) for both me and my clients.
Great to hear
Video on point as always. 👌 Maybe you could look in depth at the wireless tethering. I've used tether tools wireless device with C1 but it was either too slow or not reliable at all. So to find out if rhere is a good way to tether wirelessly. Cheers 🤜
Yes we've struggled with the wireless one but intend to give it another go with the recent upgrades.
Just askin... I have an old tamron 28-75xi that resolves terribly useless I'm shooting tethered. I use primes regularly when I need good images, but use the 28-75 for unimportant things. Just curious if there is a reason why the results are wayyyyy better on it while tethered?
I don’t know why still in 2021 wireless tethering is still not reliable.
It is a speed item for me. Wirelessly is remarkably sloooooooowwwwww compared to tethered transfer speeds which are very quick.
I am trying tethering for the first time! How can I have all images saved at my SIM card? So far I have all images at my Lightroom but none at my SIM card ;( I am trying to find a setting at my Nikon D6ii and save camera+computer but can’t find it!
Karl: can you supplement this video with the logistics of tethering on location, e.g. which computer stand, battery pack for the computer, consideration if/when tethering can be used outdoors?
Hi, Tether Tools do some good laptop platforms that fit on a tripod for use on location. The battery is simply how long you laptop will last or if you have an extra external battery for it. The main problem is ambient light so you need a black blanket or a laptop hood to view the images. The other option is wifi, 'tethering' to the ipad with a hood. It's not really tethering as the images go to the card and the camera transmits a high res jpeg to the Ipad to preview.
@@VisualEducationStudioKarl, thank you for quick and full response.
thanks a lot! it was very useful. may you recommend which screen to by? I saw you use Eizo. what model do you use?
I use an Eizo coloredge 31inch 4k and I have a 2K 24inch (2K).
Karl Taylor thanks a lot :)
I can't find a reliable method for tethering with my Fuji XT3. Any suggestions?
I'd imagine Capture 1 would be good?
Some camera manufacturers purposely do not include tethering in their lower end bodies.
Unfortunately my X-T30 doesn't tether shoot. I wish it did. Now I'm going to have to purchase another camera with tethering feature.
Nikon zfc;)
The number one reason for shooting tethered is it makes you look legit. 😇😋
I have 1 great reason NOT to Shoot Always tethered, you must learn to trust your camera's screen. I mean, I had a period where I worked for some months full tethered and lost track of my camera's screen representation of the actual image file. I got some errors on shoots that I shot tethered because of that and lost my confidence on Dynamic Area mostly. Not a big deal but it is a big deal if you make an unrecoverable error in a shoot one day.
