I was shocked when Nick said this was not just his fav Bolan song but his fav song ever, high praise indeed. I will happily dance myself into the tomb to this,
My son took his own live on the first of may this year, he was 20 years old. This song is writen for young people with old souls. I know he is in an other atmosphere right now looking at me and giving me comfort. Just by knowing that he is at peace I can go on with my life. Live this life he no langer had to live.
So sorry to hear . I understand I lost my baby brother I loved dearly we was really close he passed at 40 14 years ago it was tragic he fell on a construction site. Peace and love to you and your family.
My heart goes out to you -our daughter took her own life over 2 years ago. It's a grief like no other. Music is one of the few things which helps.

The man behind the mixing desk, who looks a bit like Danny DeVito, is actually Hal Willner, legendary producer who passed away recently (though I refuse to believe that!). He is best known for a series of amazing tribute albums to the music of Monk, Mingus, vintage Disney movies, Kurt Weill and pirate chanteys, all featuring an incredible number of talents from Tom Waits to Sun Ra. He was also music consultant on SNL, and produced records for Lou Reed, Marianne Faithfull and Lucinda Williams. Hal and Nick were dear friends. This tribute to Marc Bolan will sadly be his testament. I will miss my hero.

Wow! I would not have expected Nick Cave to be so perfect for interpreting Marc Bolan songs. But then, Marc Bolan could be rather dark himself ... It is a lovely combination.
I feel transported back to my youth. I've always been a big Marc Bolan fan. Whenever I'm in London on business, I visit the accident site and Golders Green, his final resting place. Marc, i'll see you again one day. Thank you for the music. RIP

Another Nick masterpiece in feeling. Timeless.
As a long-time Bolan fan, it's always pleasing to see someone else interpret Marc's work. I've already heard much about this cover, but I have to say it has moved me, and takes me back to 1971 and 1977. A great cover, and I can't wait to buy the album.
Many thank to Nick Cave for such a sensitive interpretation.
How is this possible? A glam rock anthem from the ugly 1970s becomes a mournful, gorgeously beautiful ballad. Relaxing, thoughtful and oddly cheerful. Bravo.

This is my second time of listening....now that I've got my head round the idea that this is Nick Cave's artistic interpretation Inthink it's beautifully done. The music is gorgeous and I love it. Well done Nick and Hal for doing this.
