Middlesex - I just finished it yesterday. I went back to the first page today. What a mighty novel. I will love Callie forever and ever and ever and ever....The writer gave me a gift no one can ever take away from me.
I've read The Virgin Suicides and Middlesex - I'm afraid to read The Marriage Plot because I don't want to run out of things by this author to read for the first time. The Virgin Suicides is simply the most beautifully written and descriptive piece of fiction I've ever read - the love and care that Eugenides has for the written word is evident. Middlesex fascinated me with it's use of history, gender and sexuality, adolescence and so much more. He is amazing!!

Middlesex is arguably one of the best novels of all time.
I'm halfway through right now and I can preemptively agree with you. This book is genius.
I'm happy to see that he is as well-spoken as his novels are well-written.
The Virgin Suicides is easily one of my three favourite modern realistic fiction books. Probably my favourite

I can't get over how well written this book is. His descriptions are palpable. Awesome! I even want to go to Detroit now.
So right....!
Middlesex is by far the best piece of fiction I've read
A Huge talent. Probably the best writer of the gap between the 20 and the 21 century. I can't tell how many I loved Middlesex. A Jewel.
it seems joyful listening this writer and i will read his novels near future......
I laughed my head off throughout Middlesex...no idea if it was meant to be funny, but I found it so...in much the same way Kafka can be hilarious.
Middlesex isn't just a must-read for anyone interested in modern lit or gender: it's a book for anyone that's ever felt.
His voice is nerdier than I imagined, a bit high or nasally or something, maybe? I adore his work.
ugh when is the new book coming!?
My branch of the family pronounces it yoo jen EYE des....but I agree that in Greece it's pronounced ev yen EE dees.
@Moniqueee15 I always thought it was Yew-Jen-Ides... so strange to hear it this way.
