    Ooooooo i’ve just bought my new brand-new bernina Sew Machine I’m an experience sewer but it was fabulous to see what you were teaching I’ve done free motion quilting courses before but nothing like you’ve just taught thank you so much and those wedges at the back of the machine? Fabulous idea fabulous! In the purple hope excellent excellent I’m going to get my knee lift in the next couple of days from Bernina here in Christchurch and I’m gonna get one of those slip mats and a purple hope because I prefer quilt as you go as well thank you so much the fact that you slip laden at the end excellent thank you regards Sylvia from somewhere in New Zealand because we live in a bus and we travelling around… And my machines coming everywhere with me I’ve just closed my sewing business of 12 years because we sold our property and now we’re in a bus my spinning wheel has come with me as well as my sewing machine and my over locker I’m very excited to get out of the rat race and enjoy the peace of my retirement

    I can't thank you enough Pauline for this tutorial Using doorstops to raise the machine is ingenious as is the tip about positioning the foot pedal. I'm a leftie, so hopefully that will help!
    I love FMQ but am often disappointed with the results. I attended a workshop a few years ago and we were taught speed is of the essence - this is probably why I struggle I was also encouraged to use the stop/start button on the machine. It's foot pedal from now on. No more painful neck and shoulders!!

    • @PQWQuilting
      @PQWQuilting  3 года назад +4

      I am glad you enjoyed my video, I have sat at my machine with it tilted for years now and it really does work. I think we are much better learning to to quilt Free Motion at a slower speed till we learn control of the fabric under the needle . Once we have that under control we can speed up. Enjoy

  • @Gogas54
    @Gogas54 2 года назад +3

    Of all the free motion quilting videos I have watched, none compare to this one. You get into the physical mechanics on how to adjust the machine and the quilter. The tools you used I have never seen. I have been so frustrated trying to learn how to control the pedal and my hands. You make it look so easy. I feel I just might be able to master free motion. Thank you for making this video.
