Because of the rules in Singer 2018 the artists were only allowed to sing 2 of there own songs the rest have to be covers. This song Nunchucks is a cover of rap song. HuaHua arranged it in an amazing way. The soft and hard parts of the music and the way he sings it mirrors the lyrics which are talking about why the Nunchucks are his favorite weapon. Because of the hardness mixing with softness. He was second in singer 2018 and won singer 2020. Would be amazing if you could react to some of his own songs like Madhouse, Aliens, Qi Tian, Jackdaw Boy, Ashes from fireworks...... and so much more. It’s supposed to be one song but when he rearranged a song he REALLY rearranges a song. In this one he wanted to keep the classic but incorporate different music style: and see hee the result 😂. He is very versatile and can sing almost any music genre, as far as I know he can sun any. He can be very weird in my opinion but i guess it’s a part of why I love this guy. This is a competition for professional singers (already famous) and Jessie J (I assume you know her) won first place and Hua Hua was second re-invited for the final season and won that season.
I'm so glad you reacted to Hua Hua. His name, Hua Chenyu, kind of sounds like HWatchin' You (Hua is his last name, which means flower). He just turned 31 and is considered one of the most influential singer/songwriters in China today. He's incredibly versatile in both singing and arranging and can sing just about any genre, while creating his own unique blend and style. Although I think he would consider himself more rock/rap. I put him and Dimash in a class by themselves, as they are carving their own path through music! @@liii3622 Yes, it's hard for everyone, even US singers. But rock is still extremely popular in the US. There aren't many younger artists writing old-style rock songs. Only metal. The old rockstars are retired and there's an opportunity for new ones. A rockstar who also raps? You bet. He wouldn't be mainstream, but his music, voice, and cool style would find an audience here. Not in the music industry, but among people. Global music is another niche he might appeal to. And there are many 2nd & 3rd generation Chinese-Americans who might be proud to promote him. I think he would get attention in progressive cities with large Chinese communities. Maybe liberal college towns. San Francisco/Bay Area. NYC. Seattle? (Vancouver, Canada, too.) Not where folks blame all Chinese people for the virus. But even that will pass as we get vaccinated and move on. Look at the US reactors who like him. All kinds of people. I think he'd need to do 2 things: 1) actively reach out to US audiences, and 2) interview and sing more in English. He knows that, and he's not doing either. My thought is that he's staying in China. (I've thought about it a lot. Can you tell? haha) Short answer: If he wanted to come here (was allowed to, in his contract?), he could.
