If you like mystery games and narrative, you'll love this one Kevin. I just played 4 more tarot cards with my wife last night. We probably have 5 hours in and still have 8 cards to play. So much great content!
Thanks for covering this one! The first time I heard of it is from the Cardboard Herald channel, and he has raved about it. Nice to see he’s not the only one :) It’s been moved higher on my wishlist after your endorsement
It’s a small company, so not sure if there will be a retail release, but you can order straight from them: postcurious.myshopify.com/collections/the-light-in-the-mist-collection
@@DocHogan I wouldn't know from personal experience, but in looking into this game further I came across a comment on the Kickstarter from someone who said they were a tarot card user and their experience suggested it doesn't work for them for a few different reasons (artwork in the minor cards not quite relating to the guidebook meanings, pictures too busy for a pip deck, cardstock being a little too flimsy for regular use were a few of the comments I read - all second hand comments so take them with a big "for what it's worth!"
@@OneStopCoopShop Cheers Mike. Shipping and tax are, as always a bit of a pain these days. Oh, but what's that pretty package called Adrift. And look at that art on The Emerald Flame. Curse you Mike...!
SPOILER Alert for Shelf Life in 6 month. I will eat my left shoe, if this is not a Keep for Mike. :) ... at least in the sense of: "I want to keep till i complete" ... and then give it away.
@@OneStopCoopShop So every puzzle game will be a CULL then, regardless of its quality or limited replayability. CULL lets a bad taste behind if put out of context imho. May be a new category is needed: FYP - Friend you (should) play it :) Keep going Mike and a healthy 2023 for you and your family.
Well whenever that happens in the shelf life videos I explain the reason. “I love the game, but passed it on”, that kind of thing. Also applies to many campaign games, legacy games, etc

Thanks Mike. I never would have looked at this without your review. I started early, but my New year's Resolution is to watch all your reviews.

@@OneStopCoopShop Yeah, we like them and then we pass them onto my youngest and then onto my son. So we get a lot of mileage out of these.

I happened on it at a booth at PAX U, and so glad I did!
4 pros and a mix. Think it's safe to say you liked this one, Mike!
Great review as always.
Happy New Year to you your family and everyone at the OSCS!
Same to you!
And yes, my wife and I are ADORING this one. I'm going to check out other releases from the company soon.
Looks interesting. Will keep an eye out for a retail release for this one!

Is it a functional Tarot deck, as well?

I’d agree with all of round table’s comments. It would technically work, but you won’t have cohesive art for each card.
Thanks Mike
How does this compare with the Emerald Flame?
No idea. I haven’t played that one yet. But I’d like to some day!
Once you beat the game is replayable or is like a campaign/escape room where you can only play it once?
Once you beat it, you're done. It's akin to a mystery/riddle/escape room game.
Would you be able to re-sale it once done? Or do you end up wreckingsome parts of it? @OneStopCoopShop
@scrubcenter8569 you can replay it. It’s not like Exit games, making you tear up elements and such

We are only 7 or 8 arcana cards from the end, and my wife is loving it too, so I think CULL is much more likely (passing it on to a friend)

Mike just cost me forty bucks lol.
I admit to nothing!!! It was that other guy!!!!
Don't start with final thoughts. Tell us about how the game plays first.
You’re in luck. I switched to that format in my most recent reviews
