For anyone debating on this machine versus the one with the frother go with this one and get a handheld frother! I spent $22 on the machine on ebay and then the frother was $8 on Amazon. It works amazingly - I made the best iced coffee with frothy oatmilk this morning! I also got compostable small coffee filters to use in the basket and it works perfectly! It's also very compact and doesn't take up a lot of room on the counter top. I switched to this machine from the Keurig K-Cafe. Couldn't be happier with this machine!

I have problem with the acidity of coffee so I drink cold brew for that reason. I may as well drink left over coffee that has cooled off. My hubby is up a few hours earlier then me so by the time I wake up its already at room temp! Plus I will save a lot of coffee! I really dont see the point unless you are in a big hurry for some iced coffee. I just need to find a better one that slowly steeps it in cold water. I did ask hubby for an ice coffee brewer for xmas and he got me a mr coffee, its a bit different then this model, hate to hurt his feelings but definitely returning! Thanks for sharing!
I thought it would be brewed at lower temperature for Iced Coffee. You just saved me $30.00. I can buy the Mr.coffee 12 cup programmable coffee maker and pour it over ice. Thank you!
Great Question. Both are great coffee makers they are just a little different. the Keurig can only brew 2 table spoons of coffee which is an 8 oz coffee. the mr coffee can brew up to 6 tables spoons of coffee which you can brew into a large travel mug. The Keurig is nice, and if you are only doing iced coffee or a single 8oz hot coffee then the Keurig, but if you want to brew more coffee into a travel mug or a larger iced coffee then the mr coffee. Keurig is faster and less clean up. Mr coffee I think will last longer but more more cleanup and takes a bit longer.
I have this coffee maker for almost a year now, and I love it. Easy to clean. Just wish I could find replacement basket just in case. I also use a small ceramic crème brûlée cup upside down that fits perfectly on the spill catch so that my one cup is raised to prevent any splashing. I think that's something that should be part of the set.
Does the taste of the iced coffee taste different than the very first mr coffee iced? I have the 1ft Mr coffee iced. I love that coffee companys are finally thinking about people who only drink cold coffee or frapps
The way of how it's started brewing is far away different. I mean to say the speed of water brewing is different. For the cold button, the machine fixed its variable speed to make the brewing cycle very slow, like a dripping into the coffee. Thus will ensure a very bold process since the ice will get melted, so they decided to make the process much more intense into the water cycle as well as the extra amount of coffee you put into the reusable filter by the bigger scoop. While the hot button, it's like a normal brew coffee machine.. the speed of water increases to the appropriate cycle to ensure the best smooth hot coffee.. suppose you tried the cold button for the hot coffee without using ice.. your coffee will become very strong and too bitterness into it so you may not like to drink it if you're a coffee lover ❤
I think I got a faulty maker. Mine is only 160 in the cup, definitely doesn’t seem hot enough. I didn’t think to check the top to see what temp it is brewing at

The frappe one is literally the same thing just with a small blender attached so if you already have a blender like most people this one is the best bang for your buck!
I had never seen drip style single serve brewers like this I like the idea but I prefer Keurig for the temp control and brew strength settings some models have.
Loved the detailed video. How was the taste of the hot coffee? I wouldn't use the iced coffee part but want to get away from the waste if the kcup. I like my coffee strong so would three scoops do it? Was there any grounds left in your cup? Sorry for all the questions but can't find any specific details for the hot brew.

when you use the reusable Filter you will get sediment in your coffee, which is really fine and it settles at the bottom if your coffee sits. To me this adds a little more flavor to your coffee but some people might not like the look of it. I have found you don't get any large coffee grounds that make your coffee taste bad by using the reusable filter. If you wanted to use a paper filter I am not sure what size you would buy since this is kind of an odd filter size.
I just bought this and I’m not fully convinced I got what I payed for. It seemed like the coffee maker itself didn’t do anything different when switching from hot to cold. You did mention that the there’s a pause which brews slower, but the heat is the same? In my opinion the ice is the only thing that makes the coffee cold. Did I miss something? Because now I just feel like getting a cheaper regular coffee maker.
yep, you are correct. same temp just a pause. I guess it is kind of the same, they just make it easier with the tumbler, and making it tall and giving you a scoop. but yeah its a coffee make that brews same temp. Thanks for watching. Amazon sells them. Doesn't have to be Mr coffee brand. They sell universal ones. Better than spending money on paper coffee filters!

Since it brews hot, do you think that you can essentially do the same thing with a Mr.Coffee 5cup brewer by adjusting the coffee grinds & water...?
yes, this is just more convenient with the tumbler and all. but yes A 5 cup would do the same thing.

I would choose the Frappe, it has an awesome Blender, the coffee maker is the same as this one.
The frappe one is literally the same thing just with a small blender attached so if you already have a blender like most people this one is the best bang for your buck!

Wondering if those were coffee grounds in your cup at 14:27. If so, how much coffee grounds end up in your drink if you use the metal filter?
No coffee grounds but you do get sediment when you use a reusable filter. its really fine that settles at the bottom.

if you read on line , coffee maker heating elements work the best when there are minerals in the water, distilled water has no minerals.
