  • Friction stir welding is a method of joining two metal parts without melting, by plasticizing the material instead. The metal of the two parts is literally stirred together. Machine tool provider Mazak offers the capability to perform friction stir welding as part of the machining cycle on its machines. This video offers a view of what that looks, and describes what the capability requires.
