Shani, it didn't hit the charts because we live in a homophobic society. A man in drag and dreds singing this song... OH NO! I agree with you, this should have hit the Top 10 Charts. In England it went to 114 on their charts. Not bad. Coulda been better but it hit England's radar. We should all live in England. LOL! My Granny at the time this song came out (1982) loved it. She loved it so much I gave her my original and purchased another for my collection.
This song always makes me smile. Love the sound! When I used to play it my Father would shout "O Lay! O Lay!" Hilarious. This track shows George's voice at it young, pure best more than any other track. He was barely 21!!!

Ronald Elston Ronald, it's the First Cut they released Internationally. White Boy was their first cut for sure but only released in England.
