What a beautiful and fascinating trip, thank you! I feel as if I‘ve had a mini vacation.❤ Coming from Germany I would say everything you said about Sweden I would say about Denmark: friendly, laid back people and an inviting, relaxed atmosphere alongside beautiful countryside and charming villages. But maybe our next trip we‘ll drive over the bridge, too!!
So fun to see Kristianstad thru your eyes, where I worked at the University College for 2,5 yrs. We had a flat there as well, but seldom stayed there, since we preferred our country cottage. And when our children were really small, we actually lived a short while in Kalmar. It looked much nicer than I remembered!
Thanks Helle for another fantastic travel vlog you make it feel like I'm on the trip with you and considering I've never been overseas it gives me a chance to see places I probably will never visit...Sweden is as beautiful as Denmark ❤..have a beautiful week 🦘🦘🦘🦘❤️
I started watching your channel for the peaceful, knitting content, but this was probably one of my favorite videos I’ve ever seen on YT. It was so relaxing and I’m probably gonna come back to it again and again when knitting. Thank you so much for sharing it. 💚🧶
I love all of your videos. It is inspiring to see your knitting and feast on the designs and colors of your lovely sweaters. But my favorite are your videos of scenery. You take me to places I would love to go to, but will probably never get the chance. The colors, ocean, restaurants, shops, architecture and the addition of the lovely restful music you include are food for my spirit! I will watch this one again, tomorrow, for another little "vacation". Thanks for all you share with us!
Thanks so much, Karen. I love your description ‘food for the spirit’, which we all need from time to time. Humbled and delighted to have provided a bit of that 🙏🏻😘
Hej, och välkommen tillbaka till Sverige! Alltid trevligt (dejligt) att bli påmind om hur vackra platser det finns i ens eget land, sett ur en annan persons ögon. Så glad att jag hittat till dig och din kanal! ❤
Åh Helle♥️🤗 You're my favorite Dane! So nice to know You like my beloved country❣️Feels like we're sisters now 😂 and we both love knitting too. Our family love to go to Österlen, (eastcoast of the landscape Skåne) in the spring when it's less crowded. Due to our pets, mr Gustaf von Lasagne 😻 and our little puppy Lisa 🐻🤎 we go by motorhome and can stay where it suits us. ✌🏼Another plus is - I can peacefully sit'n knit 🧶🥢the whole time when we travel all the way from the archipelago north of Stockholm 😂♥️ Next spring we plan to go to 🇩🇰Fanø as well! Lots of love & thanks for Your absolutely amazing and lovely videos♥️ from sis! 👭♥️🇩🇰♥️🇸🇪♥️
Oh, what a lovely comment with so much goodness in it. I visited the archipelago near Stockholm some years ago, and it was magical! Got total ‘Vi på Krageøen’ vibes 😍 Love your cat’s name 😅 Best wishes, your ‘sis’ in Dk 🤍❤️
I enjoyed your video.Thank you for sharing your experiences. I too visited Sweden for the first time last month (though I only really publicly documented the yarn I bought there!) It's very interesting that Swedes call ice cream "glass" because it was also known as that in English historically too...because it was typically introduced to the public served by immigrant street venders on small pieces of glass that were licked, and then handed back to the vendor!
I love your travel vlogs . You are so calming and relaxing to watch and I get to learn things at the same time! I hope you enjoy the rest of your summer and looking forward to another post! 😊
While I do so love your knitting videos, these other ones are so lovely. This episode reminded me of the last lengthy trip I took, to Northern Denmark and Sweden back in 2019. Your narration and attitude are so refreshing, and I love any time you post videos
Hej Helle! That was such a lovely video, thank you for showing so many beautiful places. I have been to nearly all of them and had the same feelings about the Swedish pace. 🌟
Your trip report was absolutely lovely. I adore your soft and poetic voice when you tell historic information as well as reflections of your journey. Your kind words about the Swedes and Sweden warms my heart as an expat living in California for more than 30 years. Denmark and Sweden are siblings in Scandinavia and we have so much in common along with Norway and our Nordic sister Finland. We tend to bicker sometimes like family members do but the love for one another remains. I have a feeling that you and your lovely family will be back in Kalmar again.
I love your comment, thank you. We’ll be heading up the west coast of Sweden for a few days next month and are already looking forward to revisiting our ‘sibling’ 😌💙💛
Whatever you comment on, I get so relaxed, Helle. Your voice is so «peaceful». I would love to listen to an Audi book read by Helle.❤I have been living in all parts of Norway, visited Sweden many times, but I have never been to Öland . What a beautiful and picturesque place. Welcome to Norway.❤
Thank you so much ❤️ and I would love to go to Norway (again; only been once as a small child). We’ve been talking about it, and I feel like a trip to Norway is definitely in my future 💙❤️🤍
/Very nice to see some of my own favourite places in Småland through your eyes. I´ve also been to Kalmar this summer and I actually stayed at Skansen Hotel only last month. Thank you for reminding me of all the beautiful summer days this year!
What a charming video you have created, so relaxing to watch. The narration and music really set the scene for a carefree summer tootle around the towns and gardens. Just wonderful, thank you.
Following your vlog from Sweden ❤ It was nice to hear you enjoyed the trip and your lovely overview reminded we should appreciate more some things we take for granted :)
We call that automobile show a ‘Cruise Night’ here in Canada. It’s where everyone who own a classic vehicle gather so others can enjoy the beauty of old restored vehicles. I enjoyed visiting these parts of Sweden with you, thank you for taking us along!
Thank you for the wonderful views of Southern Sweden. We were there in 2017 - unfortunately our day in Oland was a very rainy cold day in October. As a knitter I guess you know Ullcentrum yarn comes from there.
Once again you have opened my eyes. Wonderful!! It really makes me happy to see your channel grow Helle. May you rest your head on goose feather and wrap yourself in the best jasmine silk. You have earned it. 💕 England just lost the final so I may be a bit typsy, please ask your family to forgive me.! xxx
Hello my English friend, yes, I saw that you lost, sadly, but well done all the same ❤️🤍💙 Thanks for stopping by here, Brian. It is always much appreciated 🫶🥰
Thanks for sharing Helle, such a lovely adventure and these vlogs will be so lovely for you to look back on. I love great towels and sheets, to me that’s luxury and with holiday memories too! Take care, Karen 🥰
What a beautiful country. Thank you for taking us with you. That beautiful garden reminds me a little of a gorgeous garden on the Southern Oregon Coast called Shore Acres. The mansion burned down before I was born I believe but the gardens have been well maintained. I enjoyed them even as a kid. 🌷
How funny that you find that Swedes appreciate old furniture more than Danes! I felt that Danes and Dutch both appreciate old furniture way more than Swiss - here there is a very southern European vibe that likes shiny and new. I love old things with a twist...!
Thanks for your lovely comment. And haha, yes, I guess it depends on who we compare ourselves with - it’s all relative. As to Switzerland, I hiked in the Alps last summer and experienced some of the lushest and most wonderful nature I’ve ever been in. Would love to go back 💚🏔️🌿🥰
I love the style of the yellow house ❤ I would not have been able to pass up a purchase of a clay bowl, either. 😊 beautiful trip, thank you for sharing !
Many thanks for sharing your travels. The positive messages on the public signs are fascinating. So uplifting vs. the usual advertising and public notices.
I enjoyed watching your trip to Sweden. I love those beautiful houses, no cookie cutter houses there. The gardens were so beautiful. I thought maybe those ladies on the bench were knitting but no, I think they were looking at their phones.
What a beautiful beautiful video! Thank you so much for taking us along with you. That antique shop was absolutely amazing! I wanted to buy everything I saw.
Your travel insights can be profound. I purchased two of your books about England to share them with family (including a daughter who lives in Manchester). I have started my fall knitting with a scarf in a colour I know you would approve, a very pale pink.
Another lovely vlog, Helle! I completely agree with you on your sentiment around gardens. There is nothing like sitting in a garden surrounded by nature that in a way has been tamed and is orderly. Until next time! xo Mia
Dejlig video.
