I once watched through a scope, a team fighting the butcher outside, it was near a bridge, so it wasn’t the old no walls bug. I have no idea what happened, I laughed a bit then turned around and went for the bounty on my side.
Honestly, this is a great idea. There are times where you can commit way too much, and doing a mistake you could have avoided. This is basically at the moment you are very confident in the game and what you are doing, but still aiming to improve. I for one struggle with attacking lairs where the players are inside. I am either too slow, or too fast, resorting in me sniping and wallbanging them, but in reality, I want to get inside the Lair a lot more than being outside risking being third partied.
If you’re brand new, shoot everything to get a feel for how guns work I general. This should unlock the “nagant silencer” and “Winfield silencer” for purchase. Use these guns to practice shooting without causing too much sound. They give you a lot of ammunition so you don’t have to feel like you’re running out or giving away your position too much until you’re comfortable with shooting
Learn the maps. The more map knowledge, the better. You'll know how to get around and you'll know how players can flank you. And that doesn't mean just knowing where the compounds are. It means knowing where the back staircase is, and where that little hole is you can shoot through. Learn where the shallow places are in the swamps. That way you can run through while other players are slogging through waist deep water.
@@sovereigntty That is often the case. So, new players need to get into the habit of checking the kill view and in a later game go to that spot and check it out. But also, as they play and they see a hole in a wall, look through it and see what they can see. The more they do those two things, the more likely they are to win fights and survive a map.
Another tip for solo players - use positioning proactively. If you are bad at shooting, or you know that your enemy will outgun you in a direct combat so to say, engage them from some distance (so they can't charge you all at once) and constantly change your position. Even if it means running around the entire compound clockwise makind circles. If suggestions about sound are taken into account, you will be able to harass enemies long enough so they will either run out of medcits (so you can push them) or they will start making mistakes. === And another tip on this matter - think before engaging. If you got lucky/skilled enough to spot enemies first, check if you are in the good position, if you have *multiple* covers to work with in case of engagement and if enemies are able to charge and push you fast. If you position is bad for an attack, if you don't have alternative covers or if the enemy is close enough to charge you (and you certainly know that you won't outgun them), it is better to let them go. They will either be killed later, or they will be engaged later so you will have an opporunity to strike them again, or you will meet them again but with different circumstances around and will be able to engage them with good conditions on your side.
I feel so bad for new players, the new player experience sucks so badly especially if you’re alone. At ~150 hours I still feel like I’m shit at the game and people have told me you don’t start getting good until 200 + hours so I’m just quitting. The “highs” are not worth the lows after being constantly matched with people who play the game all day with 1,200 + hours invested
I'm closing in on 400, it doesn't get better. But I keep coming back mainly for the social aspect. A good portion of my friend group plays, two 4-5* killers, two high tier 3*s, and then me who is supposedly a 3*. The advice of "engage enemy players to get better" doesn't help because whenever I engage, I die. I've taken to just taking low tier cheap weapons because I hardly ever get a chance to fire any weapons and when I do, I die. My gimmick has become risky revives so I just revive the people that can actually play.
@@merlotwilliams I think that's what I'm missing, my friends that I play with recently got a desk job and now never want to use their computer that cost them thousands to build. Solo just isn't fun and my experience with the discord has been bad so far.
I've had a lot of friends join me to play hunt over the past and there are several things I'd like to add: 1 - Pay attention to directions. You can pretty often know where someone's gonna peak just by listening to their footsteps and sounds clues. 2 - Be aware of positioning. This was somewhat mentioned, don't crouch in the open field, but much more, if you're in a fight don't walk out onto a path, stay closer to cover. 3 - Learn how to rotate. Peak once, maybe twice, then rotate. I personally like to ping the spot I last saw the guy at so I can peak faster after rotating. 4 - Sound again, USE HEADPHONES. 5 - Dare to push. You won't improve if you just camp and hope for a lucky shot. Dying and loosing it all sucks but that's part of the game. 6 - Learn when you can be loud. There are moments in which it doesn't matter whether you shoo up birds or trigger a horse. Sometimes it's better to be quick rather than to be stealthy. Extra - When the test server is up, jump on there with your friends and try to solo against each other. Lobbies are mostly empty and with self revive you'll have a great opportunity to practise hearing, sound clues, try things like left side peak (got removed if I am not mistaken?), etc.
Yes left side peek advantage has been remedied in update 1.12 by changing where the camera is on the hunter so it's more centered than it was before. It's not perfect, but it's very close to a 50/50 split between how much of your body is showing before you see your target when peeking left or right.
@@Junya01 This I agree. As long as I play ONLY hunt I get used to it. The second I play anything else, any other shooter, god, even minecraft, I don't hit anything for DAYS anymore
I think my biggest issue was n°2, I was always playing in fear, hiding, crouching, waiting. It made me an easy target, always the last at the boss lair, the fear made me miss my shots more than I should, made me panic and take wrong decisions. Now I changed my mindset, to be the hunter, I am surprised how much my aim improved, I rotate, I run, I play more agressively and I die less, and when I die, I die trying something. My aim is still not good enough and I think my headset could use an upgrade, but other than that it feels much better to play the game.
in addition to mistake #6: use darksight once after picking up to check if players are around. after that only check when you moved like at least 100m from your position to see if anything has changed. if your staying inside the bosslair because youre all surrounded just dont use darksight at all after you checked once unless you are really 100% going to do something after that would positively contribute to your actual situation. if youre just checking where enemies are without doing something useful its just a wasted second of empowered darksight.
Good tip: Just because you’re extracting doesn’t mean you’re safe. Any hunter can run inside the zone and prevent you from extracting. Boats are often more safe, but horse caravans can be easily rushed.
I'm late to this but I want to add that while boats are safer in being rushed, they give you a lot less cover and more open, so it's extremely dangerous to extract on them. Always pay attention and save dark sight to know where your opponent may try to stop your extraction from
Well, I guess the rules I needed to know earlier are: 1. Don't die. 2. Don't commit too much on the first one. Literally, I was getting killed by almost anything as in I died in the most ridiculous ways and I can commit an argument on that, but then again, I became so paranoid, I barely moved. After so many failures, I decided to just be as defensive as possible and I just became the dude to have 5 mins to leave the games, because there were no bounties left on the map anymore. Not to mention my style of playing is more of a kamikaze, so it really sucks for me to do that. :D
Tip for new players if you're examining a weapon in the main menus you can actually preview what it will sound like at different distances in that same examination men.
I have something to add. 1. When your friend(s) is down, you should think how to revive him safely as fast as it possible.. Dont go shooting with enemies, especially when they outnumber you. You play in a team! 2. In most cases during the fight It is more safe to be inside compound or building than on open space. You can control windows/doors and it is way easier to rez inside than outside. 3. Be with your team. Dont go too far or stay too far back to die alone. It is easier to think how not to die than think how to revive you.
Awesome video! I'd add another big mistake that probably everybody did once or twice before getting punished, but some people just don't stop doing it, this could be sorted into the bad movement category, but it's just a bit more specific: If you are in a house or boss lair while banishing a boss, don't ever stay in the windows or any place that's just too open for too long! If you must peek a window, take a very small angle, because while you are looking at possibly 10 or 20 spots to be killed from, your killer only has to look at a few windows or cracks and will probably spot you first most of the time. Every time you peek try to move around while doing so to not be an easy target while searching for players! After being a bit better, try to bait shots before shooting back, people are no harm to you while they are reloading their gun. But then the other important part, also don't just camp while looking at nothing, take those smart peeks on key locations (you'll learn where people tend to be, with time) because if you don't, you might get surprised by some random sneaky shotgun player.
Tip: if you need ammo and you've killed a hunter with a weapon, which uses the same damage, then you can pick up their weapon and then your own and you'll take the reserve ammunition they had.
Learning the spawn rules helped me more than anything else; Possible neighbors, sights towards far spawns to check for squads or when to run past the first compound and hit one in the center for a double clue
My problem is I ran into people who play this game way more than I do and them being toxic to me while just saying how much i suck. It made it hard to play hunt and I turned voice chat completely off.
I think it's pretty common for new players to crouchwalk and wait around too much during the match, but it's important to try and move as quickly as you can while still avoiding detection. hell, as a new player it might not even be a bad idea to just rush clues and take the fights that come to you for the sake of experience.
100% agree. I wasnt good at hunt until I just started playing more aggressively. Didnt play for a while and when I reinstalled it all my gear fear was gone cause there were so many new weapons I wanted to try out. Without the gear fear fights went from terrifying yet exhilarating to super fun and satisfying. Playing aggressive especially at the 3 star level can be enough to just win fights. So many people never heal in low stars. If you're new: jump into fights. The more you fight the more you'll learn either by winning or losing
@@Mrdestiny17 Definitely. It helps to realize that money is super easy to make in hunt, to the point where I almost never consider the cost of a loadout unless I'm bringing the priciest weapons
Tip for new players: Pay attention to muzzle velocity on different guns. If a gun has a high muzzle velocity, you don't really need to lead shots unless it's long range. Lower velocity = leading your shots more.
Also it’s a good idea to practice with the regular Winfield to get better at head shot accuracy. Also it’s cheaper to run a Winfield with high velocity than long ammo weapons which typically have the muzzle velocity of Mosin or Lebel. That’s how I became a headshot machine at least.
One thing is scanning the boss. Once you've got all 3 clues and the boss locatio is revealed, quickly tap your minimap on and off. Zoom in on the reticle, this is the boss location in real-time. If the reticle moves around that means a team is likely fighting boss but using melee weapons quietly.
Biggest tip for me: The aim point (for all weapons) is NOT the center of the screen, but the hipfire crosshairs ARE in the center. I’m not saying to dot your screen (some people consider this soft cheating), but you have to know that the aim point for hipfire is the same screen pixel as for ADS, which is *below* where the game shows you it is in hipfire. For most (single) pistols it’s (close to) the top of the 6:00 tick, but that’s not guaranteed. Take some time and learn where that aim point actually is.
im confused as to what your tip is if you're ADS, the aim point is obvious. if you're not ADS, it doesnt matter because there isnt any fixed aim point. it should hit somewhere roughly around the middle of your crosshair but i've been robbed before, same as all my friends.
@@reaper314Not quite. There's a randomized spread with hipfire, yes, but the crosshairs DO NOT indicate either the maximum spread nor the center point of the pattern. For much better accuracy in hipfire, take some time and shoot a wall in training or something and you'll see what I mean.
Another tip, switch over to waxed dynamite as soon as you can. It's a bit more expensive, but has way more utility since the fuze cannot be put out by water or even choke bombs.
@@sudazima In my experience, every time I drop a piece of kit that is situational, I get in that situation. It may be another few dozen hours before I get into that situation again, but I'll be ready this time.
@@melonman2064 idk if it'll be fixed with 1.13, but there's a bug where if your throwable bounces off anything (a wall, a pole, anything) before touching the water, it'll still explode. Very useful for frag bombs and dynamite bundles
I found this out sort of the hard way. Playing random duos and as we're approaching a banishment, I'm asking my mate "how do want to approach this?". Guy looks at me shaking his player but I wasn't getting it. I asked again and he chats me about proximity chat. Enemies lol'd in said chat. Oops.
Tips for new players: learn the difference between enemies actively attacking/chasing something or making standard ambient noises, hunt will spoil you with sound queues so try to get a feel for what each one sounds like and commit it to memory because the sound queues never change and are always 1 sound you can learn. You can even learn the sound of gunshots and the time between them to get a feel for who is shooting, where they are at, and what weapons or traits they have.
A very specific warning about the boss whisper mechanic, at Healing Waters church people can be insanely close on the east side without showing up. Someone with pitcher can throw items into the bell tower while still avoiding detection from the whisper.
Understand that each gun handles very differently. It's normal to miss a ton of shots when you try a new weapon. You need to give yourself time to adjust to the different speeds/handling. Trust the process, any loadout that you find fun, can be god-tier. You just need practice.
Most important thing is to not let gear fear scare you into not taking necessary risks. Remember- it’s just a game. Half of the fun of the game is getting your stuff back! Treat perks like temporary power ups!
I always recommend new players use the first 2 or 3 games to roam around with the combat axe and unlock throwing axes asap. Combat axe and a silent weapon to get use to aim etc
I’d love to see a breakdown on the difference in skill level between a 5-star and a 6-star. What are the micro skills you need to learn to be the best?
The main difference is definitely a bit of skill gap and more "Meta" weapons being used like "mosin Avto/Dolch, regular Mosin Nagant, Lebel, King and Crown especially Uppercuts. Imo it's not THAT much of a huge difference compare to 3 stars the ONLY and main difference i have seen from my games are just players running meta weapons. The skill game is pretty much the same for 5-6.
I'm 2.1kd with over 10,000 kills I'm 6 star and my mate is 1.5 kd with 10,000 kills roughly also and he's 5 star hunter if he joins my match or I join his we always get out with 6star hunters
@FalseShepherd difrence I find is better shooting and no one needs a headset as everyplayer just knows what they doing it's weird I'm a 6 star and we barely even talk but every team just runs great everyone pushes no camping games last 20 min max you die alot revive alot so much fun ..but when I use my kids account on 4-5 star matches Jesus kill me now 😂 no one knows what they doing they run i to your traps you literally showed them 😂they die in seconds rage quit and alot of campers :)
I feel like, for the most part, if someone is a legit 6 star, they're there because they have better aim. When I say legit 6 star, I just mean they earn it by playing "normally." They don't just hide or sniper rat. That said, you will also see the super meta loadouts more often, too. But I still see them very frequently at 5 star. I personally feel like most 5 star players have similar game knowledge as 6 star players. Sometimes, even better game knowledge.
I agree with all of these, another one that i see alot is: players not being precise and decisive when switching their equipment around. Everything in Hunt has a ‘time penalty’ if you will. Swapping to the wrong item because of panic can literally lose you the game.
Got about 2500H, totally agree with all of these tips! Veterans had to learn everything the hard way back then. Not only Hunt would tell you nothing but there was also no guides on RUclips 😮
The best tip I can give to new players is to main a gun and learn how to lead it to get more comfortable with shooting and fighting players and the gun that I recommend using first is the Winfield M1873C. Sure, it may be the first gun you get and the most basic but most pro players still use it because its generally a good gun and can be used for almost every loadout. Once you are comfy enough, find a gun to your liking and repeat the process.
My tip for new players: when the action goes down and your team is in a fight don't hide and hope for a lucky shot. Spring to action and do something, even if it's just a shot in the air. If your teammates are in a shootout you quickly have to do something. If not the whole team gets easily wiped one by one. They come for you then anyways and you will die a very frustrating death.
I would also say, practice being quiet as much as possible, by using the right traits. Silent Killer, poacher, whispersmith, light foot once you have them available. I assume that there's someone around. I normally use silent weapons, hand cross bow with a poison loadout and the vetterli silencer with fire ammo. That's just me. Also, bosses have weakness. Some are immune to poison, some are not. So you can kill them by kiting them into poison clouds. Just make sure you have an antidote active. Also when starting, other teams can start (if I remember) 150m radius of you. Also, burn bodies. Solo players can have necromancer, that allows them to rez after 10 secs. Grab a lantern (save your consumables if you can) and burn them. You never know if they're gonna get back up. I try to do this to most hunters, if they have a partner it may cause them to panic to get their partner up and make a mistake. Alert trip mines near barrels will make them explode instantly if they're triggered. Also, fire ammo will do the same thing to them. Poison ammo will not. Normal ammo will make them go Boom after a few secs. I've killed many people by getting too close to red barrels and myself when using a knife killing Ai....just a FYI on that one.
Honestly I think recommending Quick Play to players isn't a great idea. Yes it's "free" but the fact that there are so many "groups" of players means that it's much more likely to get sniped from someone a new player almost certainly will have very little chance of noticing. Not to mention new players won't know how to rush the wellspring effectively, and thus will almost never get it themselves - and will almost certainly get quickly killed off when trying to siege the player carrying it out of inexperience. Bounty Hunt gives less chance of encountering other groups (letting new players learn more about the enemies, ways to spot enemy players, etc) and also gives new players a safe way to escape after finding some clues and getting some exp if they aren't confident enough to push a base for a bounty. A handful of Bounty Hunt matches that amount to "observe what other players do, get a few bounties, kill some NPCs, then extract if you can't safely get a bounty" can pay for a cheap newbie loadout and get them a hunter with a few skills.
My buddy went down in duos and that boss whispering mechanic would have saved me from the 7th player after i had to 1v6 the other teams. Was frustrating to say the least when i went to go kill the boss so i could pick my buddy and there was a 7th guy that had heen hiding in a corner the whole time and one shot me with a shotty.
I have noticed that 90% of all players follow the same tactics: Waiting near one of these round bird-nest like clues which are necessary to get to to find the boss. Or waiting outside the boss lair somewhere, most of the time camping behind a high up window with a sniper rifle. Life or death only depends on if my hunter has no white or bright grey clothing but is perfectly camouflaged with dark green dark brown and black clothing, and if I see the enemy first lurking behind a window over the boss room.... My weird sister has managed to take out groups of 3 - but only once. It´s a very difficult game. I finally want a game 1 versus 1 because that is the ultimate hunt! My weird sister or the lonely howl against one other hunter hiding and stalking somewhere on the map. No stupid cheating with a team that is constantly reviving it´s downed team members! ;)
someone mentioned play with headphones, this one is huge. you cant tell when someone isn't playing with headphones because they cant pinpoint your sounds.
I have only one tip. Don't go crazy after a couple of bad matches in a row if you new to this game. This game is harsh, but she rewards you with amazing emotions, and when you finally found that small string - you need to follow it. Especially this game is amazing for playing with friends. Dont mind to learn this game together.
This is all excellent base level advice for the game. Interestingly enough through my experience even applying all in which you had said and more, the game in the sense, is still a level of; Who has better aim, The pc build in which you use (More frames, faster application of action a.k.a priority), overall team composition, and cheats. And a hint of luck. These IMO are also obstacles. Hunt is fun. The 6 Stars I firmly believe are born with a gift. You have it, or you don't. You can still achieve a level of success however. - Realism approach by a dedicated Hunt Player. Edit: The game uses proximity chat and you cannot talk when you're downed. Other teams will hear you. When you're downed your teammates cannot hear you. If you're on a discord or other chat platform, you can give your team key advice about: who killed you, what they used, where and how far they were. The game tells you this. And if you're in a private chat (Not In Game Chat) You can literally tell them all those things. And give your team a key advantage to fight or revive you. This in essence is massive. Granted I've had games where chatting accomplished nothing. Either way every advantage serves you better in the bayous. (Yes you can say Im bad, then I might be lacking in some of the areas @Rachta Z or I have mentioned. Either way I apply all of these game senses. And actively practice.
Im not a new player, but Im also not a good player, because I played pretty much all of my games with friends that were already pretty good at the game, so they carried me through most matches (if we won). As fun as it is to play with friends, I feel like this hindered my progression in becoming better, because they usually killed most enemies, and I also didnt have to really learn the map or anything cause I could just follow them around. Now I´m looking to get better on my own, so videos like yours are really helpful, even if I know some or most of the tips, theres always something new to learn. So thank you.
Pretty basic: Time! Everybody knows this - you get to the boss lair and try to siege the team insight or you sit inside and people try to take your bossbounty. Most of this is sneaking around each other and (sorry) wasting time. You should try and achieve your goal in under 5min if you actually want to have more fun in this game. No, dont give up good positions because of this but these deadlock scenarios are just pressuring the enemy with time (and them pressuring you back with (life)time). So if you want to fight, try baiting, try angles, try pushing. If you want to run, try the same and use your angle to run out. But everybody wants to get out of the game. The usualy mistake is, everybody loves traps, sets stuff up and tries to hold angles because its effective to get kills in your favoured position but its not really effective to play the game like this. So decide if you want to fight, run or push and do that. You will have to do it anyways after 20min That counts for both scenarios. You dont have to push into a shotgun or push outside into a sniper team but you have to do something. So just run out of the back if you want to leave or push in the front if you want to take their stuff. sitting for 20min is not fun for anybody. try stuff, fight smart, go on, have fun. People waste over 50% of their gametime in an already slow game not knowing what to do and afraid to decide. You can run, you can fight. You can try stuff. Just choose, dont just afk
As a semi new player . I died in a game where i got 5 hunter kills only to extract with a bounty in the next one with 1 kill . My max kills as a solo was 7 i still dont get how i either kill almost half the lobby and i die but when i kill only 1-3 people i extract . This game gets more and more confusing the longer i play it
1. Try all weapons through time so you know how they work. Not because you have to play them but you will play against them. Many times, it happened that enemies are pushing into buildings with Sparks Sniper or they tried to kill me with a shotgun in open field at 40+ meters range. Each weapon is useful in different situation and your gameplay should fit these situations. 2. Teams banishing in boss lairs are most vulnerable during banish, not after it. During banish, there is a lot of sound, they don't have white/red blinking boss indication and they don't have Dark sight boost yet. Sitting and camping outside waiting for banish to end and then push inside against DSB legal "wallhack" is way too difficult. 3. Always put your melee tool and medkit to the same slot so you are used to the key bind. It's stupid when you got hit, you desperatly need healing and you have to find your medikt with mousewheel losing time.
My favorite tip for newbies is the zombie killing progression. STAGE ONE: Kill every zombie you see so that you can kill them in your sleep. It's pretty easy, but there are little things like the head wobble on grunts, figuring out how to melee kill a zombie without alerting it... experiment! I can particularly recommend running the silenced winfield for this, as it lets you practice shooting zombies without drawing hunters to your position. (NOTE: the silenced winnie is pretty trash in PvE) STAGE TWO: STOP AGGROING EVERY ZOMBIE. They make a TON of noise. I don't have any numbers on sound audibility, but I've often managed to ambush other hunters by just noticing a grunt, armored, or hive scream. You can evaluate this by shooting a zombie from >50m with a silence gun and seeing how audible they are to you. Second favorite lesson... learn to play aggressively, sometimes. You don't always need to play aggressive, but knowing how to push is critical to success as you run up the ranks. I can particularly recommend using a Romero shotgun and pistol to practice this, since you can't really hang back with that loadout. This helps with mistake #2. Third favorite lesson... use your throwables! My recommended tactic for training this: 1) Always bring a basic dynamite stick 2) Throw it at an enemy hunter the first chance you get Is this a good way to use throwables? No. But it will train your brain to remember them. Be sure to repeat this training regimen with hunters that have the PITCHER trait.. it really changes the game for throwables! Once you've cemented this habit, exercise discretion with the throwable timing. A good combo is: tag them with a gun so they run to cover to heal, then use the throwable to flush them out or kill them.
I knew everything in this video besides Boss Whisper. That's something new to me and I thank you for telling us Newbs. Me and my younger brother when we play always gets jumped after beating the boss and this should help a bit.
I'm just trying to get back into this game after a long step away from it. Idk why but I've missed it. It's really fun & challenging. All the comments have been helpful 👌
My tip for new players: reduce your graphics settings all the way down. Just keep render scale at 100%, but everything else at minimum. It's a huge improvement when your game doesn't stutter-freeze in every critical moment of a big fight.
I feel all those tips are become instantly irrelevant (except noize ofc) after you barely take a step after 3 mmr. You only pick once around the corner because even a second time is probably an instant headshot yes no matter how fast you do it. Everyone else make almost no noize until it reaches a gunfight so agonizing walking without shift for 10 min is a common thing either way everyone else aproc 300m already know where are you going from, how many bullets you have, what is your dogs name, your tax history and your adress.
Step 11: have a pc and have decent aim settings or use secret aimbot programa like some people do. Step 12: give up on this game if you play console unless u enjoy staying on 3 stars forever.
@@golgariplague4746 ur console is a secret aimbot program btw, across fps titles for the last decade top controller player accuracy dwarfs comparably skilled mnk players as long as the game has around .2% aim assist, and oh most games give you .3 - .4, so keep complaining ig but a computer literally aims about 40% for you.
@@koleking2519 sure, we can see that on gameplays all over games 🤡 cod players busted shooting at walls following enemy movement, players with no sway using guns with 0% recoil, and so on... aiming on console sucks, console controllers were not made for high competitive multiplayer. Or maybe they were, the problem is behind a pc people can use all cheats they want. Why do players who play amazingly suck at local tournaments or don't even show up. Look at nadia from cod for example, her performance on the tournament reveals that, and she's not the only one. I just don't understand why people do it, they're not even playing, the machine is playing for them.
My problem is, that I always run out of money on losing streaks, wich makes it even harder to get back on track. I always take packmule and vulture, but still. Kinda sucks, kinda dont want to play shitty loadouts all the time. I think about quitting the game. Im pretty ok I think, im on 5 star and kda is 1.4, compared to you pretty bad, but I think overall its kinda ok. Sometimes i get my 7/8/9 kills but then i always die to the last third party and lose everything, its so frustrating.
At the beginning of my prestiges, I use free hunters until I reach 10k hunt dollars which actually doesn’t take that long. Once I get the 10k, then I’m set for the rest of the prestige to run whatever I want. This way, I’ve never had money issues for losing streaks
Define 'bad loadouts' tho - I play a Springfield 90% of the time, it's my go to weapon. I have a 1.4 KD, steadily increasing. I usually prestiege with 20k+. Hard to loose cash if your loadout is basically free.
gonna be so interesting to see how the playerbase evolves with the new tutorial. hunt is such a complex game. i had to learn the hard way five years ago. it surely felt like being punched in the face repeatedly :D
I think my biggest advice for new players is easily to take every possible fight and take it with no fear. If you don't fight, you can't improve at fighting and will always be scared. Don't just take the bounty and run, what do you need the money for if you never use your gear? The AI, the boss, the bounty.. its just set dressing for the real gameplay which is PVP. Even if taking every fight means dying a lot, it will also get you the experience to know which fights not to take in the future. You need to test your limits to know what they are, otherwise you are limiting yourself more than necessary.
No game has ever made me feel as old as Hunt. I like to think I'm decent at shooters - got Diamond in Apex, too. Even my KD in Hunt is positive, at over 1.0... but GOD. I just get headshotted SO. OFTEN. They hardly ever land body shots! ONLY headshots. Getting instakilled constantly just feels so frustrating, man. I love this game, but it makes it hard to keep playing.
As a solo, if you got one bounty and there is another team nearby - you will be hunted down. As the last person alive in your team, if enemies have a bounty - you will be hunted down. If your team is dead and you have the bounty, fleeing is still rarely an option - you will be hunted down. When you trigger birds, horses, shoot stuff, some players come to the sound even ignoring the boss. Guess why? To hunt you down. Not only for safety and greed, but also for fun.
After trying to focus on my mistakes and not making them, I feel like a great player.... In fact, I also look like a good player, in 2022, 1 kill used to be something hard for me, now I get like 2 kills in one long fight per match. (Well basically these are my beginnings of errorless play so, I am still learning it).
I did mistake on early hours of play when i tried to be too sneaky When you need go somewhere, you need to be fast and sometimes it is unavoidable to make noice but it is still possible use sound as bait to those kill hungry players or afkers in compounds Moment they heard crows, dog cage or horse they just change position and aim there but this is why i take decoys nowadays when has been a rise of afkers in certain compounds to a point that it is really annoying So just bait them to swap position they just are easy pray and it is always those same locations Like come on if boss is other side of a map they still wait at port reeker (as example but still pretty common place where afkers go) and boss is at davant or slaughterhouse, they still wont move, they wait there till 5 min evacuation timer comes up then they move, normally they sit there with mosin sniper or sparks sniper, vetterli silencer with high velocity bullets, maybe with centinnial sniper in rare ocations but still possible
Use either decoys, flares or choke bombs to break the lantern above animal pens silently, they have an arc that will help you 'aim' the thing you are throwing. Don't worry too much about using them for that purpose you can always restock them with a lunchbox found in world or at a supply point. (Lunchboxes always have a small chance to restore a used tool, netting you that guaranteed consumable and choke/medkit charge. But with packmule you can get 2 guaranteed consumables AND a chance to restore a tool item. With packmule if you want to guarantee that tool charge just keep a consumable slot open.)
Great vid. Id die to learn the loudness values ranges, so its possible to establish when we cant hear something from what distance. Ex. Sounds one cant hear during sprint
New players the best advice is use winfield and run riot shoot all zombies horses everything get used to the weapon practice headshots then when you good at then calm down play little stealth ;)
My favourite Hunt streamer! Even though he is very good at the game, he still dies, its just part of the game. This game always gives me a rush. Keep up the good content and happy hunting!
Very basic but hard to master *and* you see this up to 5star gameplay: if you crouch and die to a headshot, it's YOUR mistake. It's *not* because of campers or whatever you might tell yourself. This is hard to learn because it seems like sneaking is the way to go in this game but its not if you dont have a very specific reason to. You have to be very aware of your surroundings in this game and crouch when you dont want to be heard and are sure not to be seen. If you are seen, you are just dead. So basic rule is: use sound and vision to be better at analysing your surroundings than your opponents and adjust your movement. Thats how you kill them - and thats because it's called "Hunt"
"The bosses are only inside the boss lair" - we all remember that bug where the boss would follow you out the lair
Beta was fun(ny) af

I managed to lure scrapbeak outside of lair a little 😀
I once watched through a scope, a team fighting the butcher outside, it was near a bridge, so it wasn’t the old no walls bug. I have no idea what happened, I laughed a bit then turned around and went for the bounty on my side.

Good idea

They give you a lot of ammunition so you don’t have to feel like you’re running out or giving away your position too much until you’re comfortable with shooting
but if you shoot, make sure when you move you watch windows and stick cover to cover because you will get ambushed
I feel like knowing those little cracks people can shoot you from is knowledge gained AFTER they kill you through it though.
===
And another tip on this matter - think before engaging.
I've had a lot of friends join me to play hunt over the past and there are several things I'd like to add:
1 - Pay attention to directions.
@@BigChimpEnergy now if only they can make ADS crosshair in the middle of the goddamn screen, it's my main gripe with hunt now 😭
@@Junya01 This I agree. As long as I play ONLY hunt I get used to it. The second I play anything else, any other shooter, god, even minecraft, I don't hit anything for DAYS anymore
A common mistake is not being a 9000+ hour streamer that can easily kill the entire server
Right lol, these people act like they don't have a full time job's worth of muscle memory and map knowledge.
For me it's thinking I'll improve at the game.

@@NoobtuberFan watch it be like 3.04 lol
in addition to mistake #6:
use darksight once after picking up to check if players are around. after that only check when you moved like at least 100m from your position to see if anything has changed.
if your staying inside the bosslair because youre all surrounded just dont use darksight at all after you checked once unless you are really 100% going to do something after that would positively contribute to your actual situation. if youre just checking where enemies are without doing something useful its just a wasted second of empowered darksight.
Good tip:
Just because you’re extracting doesn’t mean you’re safe.
Always pay attention and save dark sight to know where your opponent may try to stop your extraction from
Well, I guess the rules I needed to know earlier are:
1. Don't die.
I always rock the loudest weapon, just to scare everybody
I enjoy inspecting the weapons in the menu and just spamming the shoot button
@@Kamrankhan23333Nitro express and sparks enjoyer here?
I have something to add.
1. When your friend(s) is down, you should think how to revive him safely as fast as it possible.. Dont go shooting with enemies, especially when they outnumber you. You play in a team!
2. In most cases during the fight It is more safe to be inside compound or building than on open space. You can control windows/doors and it is way easier to rez inside than outside.
3. Be with your team. Dont go too far or stay too far back to die alone.
It is easier to think how not to die than think how to revive you.
Awesome video!
I'd add another big mistake that probably everybody did once or twice before getting punished, but some people just don't stop doing it, this could be sorted into the bad movement category, but it's just a bit more specific:
If you are in a house or boss lair while banishing a boss, don't ever stay in the windows or any place that's just too open for too long!
Also… HEADPHONES HEADPHONES HEADPHONES
My problem is I ran into people who play this game way more than I do and them being toxic to me while just saying how much i suck. It made it hard to play hunt and I turned voice chat completely off.
Being toxic is probably only purpose of voice chat rn
@@RachtaZ yeah a guy got pissed off because I alerted the birds like more than a person should calling me all kinds of things.
Biggest mistake I constantly make is not hitting my shots 😂
One thing is scanning the boss. Once you've got all 3 clues and the boss locatio is revealed, quickly tap your minimap on and off.
Zoom in on the reticle, this is the boss location in real-time. If the reticle moves around that means a team is likely fighting boss but using melee weapons quietly.
Before you investigate a clue, you can see if it's already taken or not
Biggest tip for me: The aim point (for all weapons) is NOT the center of the screen, but the hipfire crosshairs ARE in the center.
Take some time and learn where that aim point actually is.
im confused as to what your tip is
if you're ADS, the aim point is obvious. if you're not ADS, it doesnt matter because there isnt any fixed aim point. it should hit somewhere roughly around the middle of your crosshair but i've been robbed before, same as all my friends.
It's a bit more expensive, but has way more utility since the fuze cannot be put out by water or even choke bombs.
have to dissagree there, i switched back to unwaxed and just bring one extra. rarely is there water or choke that actually hinders me i find

New players should know that Chat / voicechat can be seen / heard by enemys aswell.
Yep, wish they would separate local and party voip. Really makes it hard to communicate with randoms in your squad.
Always check the ground before running to chariots, to exit or near red barrels. Traps are often deadly with new players.
Understand that each gun handles very differently. It's normal to miss a ton of shots when you try a new weapon. You need to give yourself time to adjust to the different speeds/handling. Trust the process, any loadout that you find fun, can be god-tier. You just need practice.
Nice video! I've played hunt for about 45 hours but some mechanics like the boss icon blinking red were never known to me.
Most important thing is to not let gear fear scare you into not taking necessary risks. Remember- it’s just a game. Half of the fun of the game is getting your stuff back! Treat perks like temporary power ups!
Run from boss lair? Man, scrapbeak gonna throw across whole site those concentrina. Bloody savage
Can anyone please tell me the name of the song playing at 5:44? Great guide btw
I always recommend new players use the first 2 or 3 games to roam around with the combat axe and unlock throwing axes asap. Combat axe and a silent weapon to get use to aim etc
I’d love to see a breakdown on the difference in skill level between a 5-star and a 6-star. What are the micro skills you need to learn to be the best?
the difference between 5 and 6 star is whether you have enough money for an avto/dolch loadout that week.
Another tip,
try to bring a beetle.
They are very good to use when you’re banishing the boss. Just throw it out and check your surroundings.
I need a tutorial "How to headshot moving targets at 200 m with a sniper"

I have only one tip.
Don't go crazy after a couple of bad matches in a row if you new to this game.
This game is harsh, but she rewards you with amazing emotions, and when you finally found that small string - you need to follow it.
Especially this game is amazing for playing with friends. Dont mind to learn this game together.
absolutly important tipp!
"she rewards you with amazing emotions" ??? you're talking like the game is some amazing prodigy lol, it's just a video game
Number 3 is what I was looking for everywhere. Video liked, thanks! Many people are oblivious how much sounds are important in all multiplayers.
You will have to do it anyways after 20min
That counts for both scenarios.
The biggest mistake you could ever make in Hunt is trusting randoms, man.
3:37 dude's reaction speed is 4 business days
I feel like at this point my main mistake is my dogshit aim
If you are in a single bounty game and you make loud noise (crows/horse) you should rotate and find another angle. Ambushes are real.
Tvrdý český prízvuk čo má svoje čaro :D
Nice tips, thank you very much :)
(NOTE: the silenced winnie is pretty trash in PvE)
STAGE TWO: STOP AGGROING EVERY ZOMBIE.
My recommended tactic for training this:
1) Always bring a basic dynamite stick
2) Throw it at an enemy hunter the first chance you get
Is this a good way to use throwables?
Commenting for algorithm. Hope a lot of new players come to enjoy Hunt. There is nothing like it.
I have a question, can you lose your legendary/DLC hunters even while being level 11 or higher when playing as one and dying?
I'm just trying to get back into this game after a long step away from it. Idk why but I've missed it. It's really fun & challenging. All the comments have been helpful 👌
Just from the tutorial I realized how cool a campaign would be
My tip for new players: reduce your graphics settings all the way down.
I just don't understand why people do it, they're not even playing, the machine is playing for them.
just started playing and this video helps a lot. Thx
After around 1000 hours this is a nice refresher. Thanks RachtaZ!
@@wvlfboyy ofc, there are cheap viable loadouts, but still the springfield does not beat a krag or a mosin on paper tho and i love both of them
@@wvlfboyy what do you use for close combat on a new hunter with your springfield tho
I hit 5 stars pretty consistently now, KDA 1.3 , running mostly compact/medium ammo loadouts for
gonna be so interesting to see how the playerbase evolves with the new tutorial. hunt is such a complex game. i had to learn the hard way five years ago. it surely felt like being punched in the face repeatedly :D
You need to test your limits to know what they are, otherwise you are limiting yourself more than necessary.
damn i didnt know about that boss whisper mechanic, thats insanely useful
No game has ever made me feel as old as Hunt. I like to think I'm decent at shooters - got Diamond in Apex, too. Even my KD in Hunt is positive, at over 1.0... but GOD. I just get headshotted SO. OFTEN. They hardly ever land body shots! ONLY headshots. Getting instakilled constantly just feels so frustrating, man. I love this game, but it makes it hard to keep playing.
So 50 meters from the “Boss” or the “Boss lair.” I’m assuming the “Lair,” but the way he said it made it sound like he meant the actual “Boss.”
Gods, the not healing to full HP is something I see so often and makes my skin itch lmao.
I never knew that when the boss icon is blinking red there is people nerby, I always tought that meant that the boss is just there
New and im loving it lost 3 games doe but now maxed 2 players out Alr
Getting the wellspring achievement is a nightmare because there is no match making
My major problem is the map knowledge....and shaky hand...yeah im not gonna be able to get over shaky hand any time soon
I did mistake on early hours of play when i tried to be too sneaky
When you need go somewhere, you need to be fast and sometimes it is unavoidable to make noice but it is still possible use sound as bait to those kill hungry players or afkers in compounds
Moment they heard crows, dog cage or horse they just change position and aim there but this is why i take decoys nowadays when has been a rise of afkers in certain compounds to a point that it is really annoying
So just bait them to swap position they just are easy pray and it is always those same locations
Like come on if boss is other side of a map they still wait at port reeker (as example but still pretty common place where afkers go) and boss is at davant or slaughterhouse, they still wont move, they wait there till 5 min evacuation timer comes up then they move, normally they sit there with mosin sniper or sparks sniper, vetterli silencer with high velocity bullets, maybe with centinnial sniper in rare ocations but still possible
HOly Guacamole! Now I started winning every single game! thanks bud 👾
Great vid. Id die to learn the loudness values ranges, so its possible to establish when we cant hear something from what distance. Ex. Sounds one cant hear during sprint
This game has got to have the longest learning curve for a shooter I’m about 80 hours in an Im still getting waxed
If your team mate dies, look at their feet. The feet point in the direction they were shot from.
I am not new player but i watched it. And i saw really i was do that mistakes. It is very good video.
And how to counter players camping in the bushes with a long rifle ready to one shot you out of nowhere?
Mistake 10 hits me hard xD. Even after hundreds of hours in the game i still hoard
I had no idea there's a quick play feature
