Wow, you are a real Campagnolo expert. Thanks for the video 🤩. I drive an EPS V3. Can I also use the interface V4 with the rear derailleur and front derailleur of the V3?
Thanks for this very informative series on the Campagnolo EPS system. The videos are very well made. I am currently trying to fit a V1 system to a Trek Y66 Foil, and have a question regarding the comment you made in this video about the EPS charging systems being essentially the same since their introduction. I have seen the explanation of the 4-conductor circuit in your later video that describes your improved USB charger. The early EPS chargers, however, have a 6-conductor connector. Is the wiring in them still the same? By the way, I notice some of your content deals with the patent system. I have some experience there and can help with questions you might have. I am looking forward to seeing further videos from you.
Hi Keith, Really appreciating your contend, you’re really a Campy Pro! :) I run an Campy Super Record 11 EPS on my TT-Bike and love every bit of it. Since I’m looking for every Watt to gain I want to remove the Front Mech und run it 1x. When trying to shift the Back Mech without the Front Mech the Yellow warning light blinks on the Central Unit and not every shifting progress is transferred to the Back Mech. Do you have a hack how I can make my system believe the Front Mech is still there (even if its not)? Thank you very much and keep up producing great contend! :)
Do I have to get thecharger green tension board made ? Do you have them for sale? I have the other parts but can’t seem track down that part . Thank you for the videos
The whole point was to avoid zip ties / glues / bands though. Some people like yourself (and to an extent me) are okay with the aesthetics of a bodge on an expensive bike, and some people aren't. Some people will go to high heavens to avoid the look of wires let alone the sacrilege of a zip ties. It was originally a request from someone in the "slam the stem" world, and then I told them I couldn't slam their stem and build a mount they weren't interested but it was interesting enough for me to build.
Most of the slam stem folks Ive ridden with do it for aesthetics and then can't ride in the drops. Arms full straight and locked on their hoods straining. Anecdotal but seems common amongst those slam stem folks I've met. Hard to go against the grain but I never mind being the black sheep swimming upstream. Thanks for the subs.
@@kwakeham I find it doubly strange when they also sprint on the hoods. I think we're in the wrong countries to ever meet, but I am a stem slammer who rides the drops everywhere :D
Sorry I've been away christmas and a bit sick. The old DI2 that were dumb sprints yes. The new DI2 Sprints are using their 2 wire system so have brains, power, filters, etc in them. I've wanted to try and figure out the two wire system, several requests to hack it but it's financially very risky. When I reverse engineered the DI2 ANT it required very old modules. I blew up one in seconds.
Lots of things have prevented us from doing more of these. Tindie and strange locations of purchases was one of the biggest issues. I've been considering bringing it back but to the Titanlab store.
I certainly agree. The limits of cheap FDM 3d printer tends to be the fail point. Need to do it in multiple pieces I would think but I've had little success with the 3d printed pieces having enough accuracy beyond holes for bolts, and insufficient strength on the layer adhesion. Perhaps more tuning of the printer, but I just wanted a tool to make things quickly and not a new hobby. I'll certainly have a think and see if I can come up with some thing.
It's ultrasonically welded with cables potted in epoxy. So you can, but you have to cut the plastics to get the board out, cut the cables, re-solder them, find an m3 4 pin jack (digikey) for charging and 3d print/machine a housing, and also likely hurt it's wireless capabilities putting it in a bar end. And in the end it's not waterproofed. So even if it's not wet, moisture getting in can start corrosion on the exposed board. I've had a few hobbyist pcbs go wonky with corrosion on the caps over the years having never gotten wet. It's a lot of work with lots of risk of breaking it.
@@kwakeham thanks for that detailed reply, seems to be way too much work, much just araldite it to the bottom of stem so i can at leat get rid of the bands.
Please make a v3 external interface unit to inside handle bar V3 internal interface unit (just like shimano and eps v4) conversion project and a video tutorial on how to make it. Or better yet make it and sell it. I know you can do this. PLEASE
I've been working on an reviving my "EPX" project as it's now called to make a new single derailleur powerunit/interface that is wired or wireless. Been mainly looking at what mistakes I made in the past and derailleur performance so far.
I've recently purchased a Colnago C64 with Campagnolo Super Record 11 speed, and I absolutely HATE it! Yes, I've never been so frustrated setting up this group set. Connecting the EPS V3 to the MyCampy app is a true test of patience. Could not update the system, could not set up shifting modes, etc... I just don't understand why people love Campagnolo...
Shifter ergonomics maybe? Okay joking aside Yes, many people tend to have issues like you described. It sucks. I've been lucky, but things can be hard to get going on the EPS side and "zero setting" correctly tends to take some experience. A lot of the updating is luck combined with what phone. I could list of lots of technical reasons to buy either -- shimano's better shifting, campagnolo not cheaping out on materials, shimano's etube, campagnolo actually analyzed the feel of buttons and didn't just chose "whatever" tact switch that was cheapest. But end of the day, a lot of it is brand loyalty at the top end and understanding the quirks with each. At the mid to low end, it averages out to availability on OE spec bikes which is why there are almost no SRAM (non AXS) or Campagnolo OE equiped bikes in that price range.
Hello how's the bike? I recently came across a sweet deal on a C60 with V2 and I'm afraid of it now (lol) I'm a di2 man and haven't leaped over to Campy yet. What are your thoughts and have you mastered the system? Thank you and hope all is good 👍
Wow, you are a real Campagnolo expert. Thanks for the video 🤩.
I drive an EPS V3.
Can I also use the interface V4 with the rear derailleur and front derailleur of the V3?
No, v4 is different firmware overall and the way that the levers triggers the shift is different.

Are you still selling the Micro Charger? Site says its been sold out since OCT 19.
I d take 2

Couldn't you use any regular Di2 stem mount and ziptie/glue it on it?

Hi how can I purchase the piece that holds the transmitter on the handle bar for a eps system?
Does your 3d printer use solid works?
how to reset superrecord eps v2 system? i have some faulty shifting while try to shift to smallest sprocket
Can you 3d print internal interface for v3 eps like the v4 version handlebar mount ?
Of course. You need to model it first tho.
Slam your stem is the wave of the future!
I subscribed a couple of weeks ago. Interesting content.

could you use Di2 sprint shifters instead of making your own ? i know you can splice the Di2 sprint shifters onto sram blips, thanks Neil

Would love to buy one of those mini chargers but it's sold out!

I think a Garmin/Wahoo mount that you could fix your EPS unit to would be neat.
I certainly agree. The limits of cheap FDM 3d printer tends to be the fail point. Harley Davidson. THE most common tattoo bar none.
Also how are the shifts so slow when pressing your buttons? Furthermore... What peasant doesn't have a night table for their EPS'd bike??
You can't suggest zip ties and then talk about having an abnormally high night table / abnormally low table in the other.
Is there any possible way to Internalise the eps interface with an 11 speed? The thing strapped to my aero one piece cockpit stem is really bugging me

I have honestly never seen a campagnolo tattoo. One of us is hanging around the wrong people :p
I've only seen 2-3 in real life to my sighting of 1 apple. Google search will reveal all though.
I had that problem! and that's my bike! I'm famous!....sort of...
