For those of you who don't know much about me or my career, here's a video that will give you a little insight to my history.
Being mentored by a music legend was a dream come true.
Losing my brother was a nightmare.
But all of this contributed to making me the artist I am today. 🙏🏼
2024 Jimmy is still amazing. I’m sure his brother and Luther watch over him from heaven. I’m sorry life threw him this big curveball. 🙏

The fact jimmy salvemini can still do what he does write, produce music with others in the music industry and put on concerts despite his brother Larry being killed and to also be able to forgive Luther vandross for what happened is a classic example of human compassion. Even after the many years that his brother Larry and Luther vandross have been gone, he never forgot what Luther vandross did for his career. May god continue to bless you Jimmy and may your brother's and Luther's be with you always!

I want to become a professional drummer, but I also like to write a lot. Has there ever been someone whom you have worked with that songwrites, produces music and plays an instrument all in one?

I'm glad to see your voice matured nicely. Most people think r&b music is about sex, money, and heartbreak, but it's really all about giving love and receiving love. Being a truly great r&b singer takes time and life lessons. I can tell by your voice that you are comfortable with life and learned how to live for your own happiness instead of for fame and money. I might come up with that same conclusion based on what is public knowledge but unfortunately there is a lot more to the situation than I care to get into. Thank you for taking the time to watch the video Phil.
That's kinda what I thought. There's gotta be more to it and you're well within your rights not to go into it if you choose not to. After all, the events caused you to lose your brother so it can't be easy to even broach, let alone go in depth on. So many believe that people who make music owe use their personal lives too and that just isn't true. What happened to you was a personal thing, not something meant for public appraisal and snap judgment. It appears Luther made a grave mistake that unfortunately cost your brother his life. Really, that human life was lost is what matters most - regardless of the circumstance.
Either way, truly sorry for your loss and glad to see you've carried on. As good as you were, your voice is far better now so I'm definitely interested where you go from here.

So sad and I don't remember ever hearing about the accident with Luther and this young man's brother. But young man, you go on. What a voice and what a fantastic range you have. May God continue to give you the strength to carry on.

Well, well it is 2023 and I am enthralling with your life story and how being on Junior start search was the catalyst to having a chance to get closer to your dream. But that same catalyst was a double edge sword and you lost your brother in the process. I pray that you still around and still singing as if no one is listening because you are still here, and a lot of people don't have the same blessing. I love how time has really fine tune your vocals and your ability to express yourself on the last song "Love Won't Let Me Wait" it was a really good rendition. You just got to find that right original song that touches the soul.

I know it’s your destiny. I found you by accident today, I don’t remember this story... it’s heartbreaking and as a kid i know you got trauma because of it. I’m so sorry you had to experience that. Thank you for sharing your story, including the triumph and the tragedy. You have a really great voice and song styling. It must be frustrating to see the success of young, manufactured, here-today, gone-tomorrow singers, when you have actual talent that doesn't require auto-tune, flashy costumes, backup dancers and special effects. You are the real deal. I can now see where my share of singing talent went haha, because I don't have any. If I had any singing talent, I feel like I would have spent my life in dive bars or piano lounges singing for my supper every night, and that would have been awesome I think. But that just wasn't in the cards for me and I have no regret because I ended up having a different, but great career path.
I hope ypur singing and creating continues to bring you personal joy and contentment, because that's what it's all about.

Sorry for the loss of your brother, truly, but I must say that Luther was a great person with a kind heart many people are not born with. Maybe if your family who backed and supported Luther when the accident first happened didn't turn on him and sue him (for an amount you most likely would have made in your career with Luther 1000x over and more) , well surely you would have had a great career had they not turned on him for the lousy 600K. The record industry loved Luther and I believe they blackballed your career at that point. You had a voice of gold and it still sounds good to me. Good luck, I know it's a tough industry to break into the first time, never mind trying to do it a second.
I promise I'm not trying to start trouble but I doubt you knew anything of Luther beyond the songs and interviews you saw. You can't know that he "was a great person with a kind heart that many people are not born with". He may very well have been a wonderful man but we don't know him so we can't go there. You also know nothing about the accident as you weren't there. Lastly, I doubt you know anything of the fallout from it (i.e. the "blackballing" thing you allude to). Your summation of what happened is very "fan". It's all guesswork, really. The fact is we don't know Jimmy nor Luther well enough to draw the conclusions you are drawing.
Don't you think there must be more to all of this than what you know? We are clearly missing information that Jimmy's decided not to get into for whatever reason. I'm okay with that and the rest of us should be too. It's his call, not ours. I'm just not much on people bashing others when they don't have much to go on. It's totally unfair, really. Seeing stuff like that makes me glad I'm not in the public eye in any way. I think I'll keep it that way.
As for your evaluation of his voice, we're in total agreement there. He sounded good when he was younger. He sounds INCREDIBLE now.
sorry but I WAS in the business back in the early 70's. Ever hear of The Record Plant in Manhattan or how about Don's Kirshner's Rock Concerts before ABC bought into them? Ever hear of Joshua White or the Fillmore East? These people/places I worked with and were all part of my career at the time. Sadly, everyone talked about everybody weather friend or foe, good or bad it was all in the open. Ya, I know nothing about being blackballed or how to screw yourself out of a career in entertainment, or make it with lousy talent just by being liked by someone who has the ear of top executives. Lawsuits against them is like having Charles Manson as your agent with no shot at parole for either of you. I'm done here and I believe you are as well. Only shot you got now is AGT or banging out a few solid hits on iTunes. The recording industry is not how it use to be back in the day, no more front money or contracts with expense accounts, no labels looking to create a persona at their expense. Yet the rep will always screw anyone who ever screwed (in their opinion) the industry... as baggage is always checked at the reception area in the lobby, before you're allowed to use the up elevators. FACT.
I truly am sorry for your loss, been there as well more than once. The hurt always pops back up just when you feel you moved ahead of it. This is the life we live in remembrance of the souls we were loved by, yet lost tragically.

Yes Luther was gay. Patti LaBelle outed him after his death. But us who worked in the industry we knew and it wasn't a big deal at all. Luther knew we knew and it was cool
