This was easily the best overall Game Awards due to the change of pace and formatting. The developers got to get their bars off [for the most part], the celebrity special guests didn’t feel too out of place, the ads weren’t too miserable, and the overall flow was just much better to sit thru compared to previous shows. As far as Astro Bot winnin’ GOTY, I don’t really disagree with the decision, but I didn’t think it would win it.
Yeah, i actually enjoyed this one, mainly because of the surprising announcement!! And being a Playstation gamer..i really wanted "Wukong" to win GOTY but, i'm happy with "Astrobot" winning. 🤷🏽♂️
Based on that dashboard pic in Intergalactic, Kumail Nanjiani is either going to be the big bad who was the last explorer sent to the planet who went native, or he's the main character's lost brother.
Ninja Gaiden, Virtua Fighter, Onimusha, Okami, Intergalactic, and a new game from Fumito Ueda. This was by far the most exciting games event that I've seen in a long time.
Yes, I got such a oddly nostalgic feel from intergalactic. It’s gotta be the soundtrack but somehow the aesthetic too got me. I’m excited to see what this game is about. Very very excited. As for goty, I’m happy Astro won it but my bet was rebirth winning. I’m more shocked Astro won goty for family game in a space where 3 Nintendo games were running and one of them being a Mario game!
I’m definitely surprised Astro Bot won GOTY I thought it should’ve been wukong but hey I did get Astro Bot for me and my baby girl and to this day she still play it telling me about Christmas levels and all
Rebirth team. You have no reason to be anything but proud in your accomplishments. Everytime the team has spoken, it’s clear that you’ve rediscovered everything that made Final Fantasy special. You just need to refine gameplay elements, systems, and slight creative choices to prioritize being more engaging and fun. I hope you’re given the time and resources necessary to restore faith in the IP and company, which only comes with consistency.
It’s crazy. Sony took like 6 awards with my boy Astro bot winning personally I was hoping either Astro bot or metaphor to win so I’m satisfied I know haters gonna hate on Astro because they hate us because they ain’t us And the naughty dog game looks interesting. Reminds me of cowboy bebop, especially with the the fact that mixed with sci-fi and old things like CD for music and 1980s looking anime on the TV puls is something new by naughty dog and when it comes to the character, it’s just a bald woman that’s really it. Nothing really serious to make people hate it. Don’t know why people get triggered by this like I don’t see what’s woke about it
I see a lot of people being negative about ND's new game. I'm pretty excited. I need this game now! Also the Witcher 4 (ciri confirmed) got me excited also! BTW just how did Astro Bot win GOTY???? That's awesome! But I don't agree. Black Myth was my GOTY. I"m happy for team Asobi though. It's really cool!
I think there will be a stronger case for FF7 with final release because the narrative could be around how SE reimagined the whole universe and was able to maintain consistency across 3 titles spanning almost a decade. It would also allow them bundle everything as a GOTY package.
Intergalactic is the first Naughty Dog game I've been excited for since Jak and Daxter and Jak II. I'm glad Astro Bot won, I voted for it and had high hopes.
This game is not coming 2025 for sure but 2026. I don't understand why devs keep announcing games very early. None of the games confirmed for 2025 are what I want. Let's hope GTA6 or Resident evil next game comes up this year.
Although I'm disappointed that Persona 6 or FF9 Remake wasn't at TGA and there was really nothing revealed that interested or intrigued me... it was made up for with the ASTRO BOT SWEEP BEING COMPLETED lol. I don't think I've popped (wrestling term. Just means I cheered loudly lol) LOUDER at something winning an award at TGA then when it was announced that Astro Bot won GOTY lol Made the night worth it for me lol. I guess it was ok, but it wasnt for me. Didn't see sony santa monica's new game, no wolverine, nothing from bluepoint or bend studio. What the heck are these studious working on for so long? New Naughty Dog game main character immediately reminded me of Lev from the last of us. Not sure what to think about that, but i have my concerns. Time will tell. At least Naughty Dog is trying a new IP so I will give them props for that.
I know bend studio game info was leaked along with the screenshots.. Looks pretty cool.. I don't think we will hear from wolverine game till mid 2025 and Monica probably same, mid 2025. They are cooking, but maybe holding out till what gta announcement

Gaming Awards was mid as all hell tbh, but shocked n still in disbelief that Astro Bot won GOTY. Astro devs said it best when they describe their development time n what they wanted out of Astro Bot. Hope this pushes Sony to bring not only Ratchet back, but Sly Cooper n Jax N Daxter or even bring in new fun ip that focus more on the fun gameplay. I don’t mind them making another TLOU or multiplayer game but it would be nice if they create a simple fun platform every once in a while. Stellar blade, final fantasy vii rebirth and blackmath wukong. We're all better games and sold. Better and should have come in front of this game.

Do you even know how REVEAL trailers work? They ALWAYS show a CGI 1st with a snippet of gameplay, like the last 5 seconds looked like actual gameplay. The reveal of wolverine was CGI, Spiderman 2 was CGI, HFW, Cyberpunk, GTA 6 etc..... Every REVEAL is CGI except for a few outliers that are near complete like astrobot etc.... And there are a TON of people excited about the new game from Naughty dog when has ND ever dissapointed, all their games are certified bangers!! From Crash bandicoot to TLOU all where highly aclaimed! It's just these grifters and losers who hate on the company for ONE choice they made with joel!!
