@@user-yf2lk5gi7q Well, I have to disagree with you ! I sometimes play my SG with her stock humbuckers into my Two-Rock (can't be more clean) and I've never/'ll never have that tone. You should make different albums for different “seasons.” I hear this and visualize a roaring fire around Christmas time. Some of your other pieces sound more like “summer” to me. Playlists like that would be beautiful.
Chon did something of that sort. Grow came out on March. It gives a springtime, morning dew, type of vibe. Homey came out in summer. It had a beach vibe. Particularly a west coast vibe exclusive to California.
This is amazing. Even more than just being incredibly talented, I appreciate him being so real in keeping minor (extremely minor) mistakes in the take. It gives inspiration to us guitarists who have the expectation of ourselves to always be perfect. Thanks man.
I agree i love that he kept the mistake instead of recording another take. We should tollerate small mistakes more its a part of live music and it happens to everyone.
- Old Sean was his name, that is the name of the peaceful man who would help that beautiful instrument reach all the right notes. Together they made the pine walls tremble a natural warmth like no other, from sunrise till sunset for all to hear -
Oh my god that was legitimately one of the most beautiful performances on guitar I’ve ever seen. How is your understanding of harmony so dense? Is this improvised? I need answers.
Beautiful Playing...Very rarely do you see somebody putting up a video on RUclips with them making "Mistakes"...you were just playing and having fun, just for the total enjoyment of it which is what it's all about. Beautiful to watch and to listen to. Thank you for that :)
Getting some heavy Frisell and Metheny vibes from this. I love it. Nice to hear this coming out of an SG. I guess it has to do with the rock iconography that followed me around when I was growing up, but I associate the SG almost exclusively with rock music. I know it's silly, but that's the way it is. Kind of reminds me of when I first saw Ted Green playing Jazz on a Tele. My 14 year old's brain was messed with. Sorry, I'm rambling. This is just so damn good, I feel like Im chatting with a friend.
when you make a mistake you just smile and keep playing because you know it doesn't define you or your ability. and that right there is a lesson we can all take away from this video, musicians or not.
Quite often a video inspires me to immediately pick up my guitar. But hardly ever it makes me wanna change the way I play altogether. Well done Maestro :)
I respect the hell out of you for leaving the missed notes. From one guitar player to the other you play beautifully. Fantastic chord choices and all around great playing. Those are some difficult stretches. Cheers
late to the party, but is one of the score inspired tunes the Sarah McLaughlin tune in the Toy story where the Girl leaves her Doll behind? BTW, guitarist here... it's so encouraging that you leave the occasional mistake in, and we can see it's still lovely.
I love your music! It's so chill and heart warming - like an image of being a kid on a sunny day in the summer, and your Mum calls you in for lunch. Thank you so much
The first progression gives me strong vibes of the intro for band of brothers. Not a bad thing at all. Awesome playing/melodies/progressions! Every time I watch one of your videos I always fall in love with your tone all over again lol
Unbelievable man. Your melodies are super diverse and interesting. Right when I think I know where you're going with it- you jump into a different direction. I appreciate the unpredictability.
I love it when you post videos like this. You don't play everything perfectly, and thats not to say I like when you hit a wrong note. It just gives me hope as a guitarist. Btw, I bought that Gibson SG because of you! Great video man.
But did you build that house just to match your SG?
Albert Jafar thats how he gets his tone
He has to start staining somehow bro.
ha ha ha! great joke
How about thinking the opposite way?
@@waterduck636 I like his point better

Joey Landreth, Eric Johnson, Mateus Asato, Tommy Emmanuel... Those are the influences that I hear !
Love how u make mistakes but u keep going
I see most great artists do this. I love it.
It shows confidence and familiarity with the material
Me too
Those weren't mistakes! Just happy little accidents
Thats actually very deep
jazz musician: what mistakes???
my vision of SG has changed definately
Same, but keep in mind that a lot of this tone comes from the bridge P90 pickup, which SG don't usually have
Chico Maguire the P90 is in the neck not the bridge
@@piano9999999 he doesn't have a p90 in the bridge

That tone is absolutely iconic.
At the beginning I hear “when she loved me” by Sarah mclachlan.. the song was in toy story 2 🥺 beautiful man!
nice. I heard toy story
hey! 2 legends here

Man this is just pure gold. No one plays like this and i can’t get enough of it. All i want to do is play guitar more and more when i hear this
Listen to Bill Frisell, homeboi is def inspired
And maybe ted greene!
You need Mateus Asato in your life. Trust me.
These videos have literally changed how I play guitar. I love the way that mistakes are just embraced and let go. Such an inspiring guitarist.
And here we are again after 2 years. Aged like fine wine man. Never gets old

Sounds just like ted greene, amazing
I don't know why i keep coming back to this. Beautiful, sad, warm, emotional. All at the same time.
I love all the little mistakes that you made a part of the song. Its easy to make mistakes, really hard to turn them into meaningful things.
Amazing chords progressions! It almost felt like it was christmas with snow falling, sitting next to the fire drinking my favourite whiskey.
every time i listen to your music is pulls me out of my depression. like its food for the soul. thank you

That build up at 1:02 😍

reminds me of the first movement of Keith Jarrett's Vienna Concert.
The transition into the actual song is seamless.
I love it when there's a mistake, reminds us you're still human.

After becoming a huge Bill Frisell fan then hearing this I can definitely hear some similarities in style. Love it!
I'm getting real old school Eric Johnson vibes, and I love it

Nothing better than this to help me to get through this day...
Classical noodling on an electric instrument. Glorious Sire!
ive spent the last hour learning this. Nothing can compare to your playing but i can sure as hell try

When I grow up I'm going to play like you....ah shit, I'm already old. Whelp, practice starts tomorrow..

Your tone is so warm I can feel it here, in Canada.
so expectionally pleasant sounding
1:17 sounds a bit like ”Places We Won’t Walk” by Bruno Major. Very nice
I heard this scattered throughout, then that melody hit and immediately validated!

It truly did! That climbing and tension release have flashbacks to the frisson of hearing the intro.
Was looking for this comment. In the description he writes that the jam is inspired by film scores. This is probably it!
Places we won’t walk ? 🤷♂️
You are awesome by the way
Even the fumbles give the piece an innocent tenderness. Lovely work.
God level guitar playing
The first little chord progression really reminded me of Band of Brothers.
Anyone noticed added Toy Story vibe to it somewhere in the middle? Love it!
G2NK Thats exactly what I was thinking “When she loved me”? From toy story 2
Ah yes, my favorite human has uploaded again.
