I pretty much had this in my last game for the night where three people brought up P-51H's to 12.0 (I think it was a 12.7 game tbh) one of which met a very unfortunate end to an AIM-7F (trying to grind US tree)
There’s been a glitch in this game for years, but it’s only now becoming more apparent to people playing ARB because of new bugs introduced with this update. That glitch is that the dots do not render unless your radar is on when you are looking at them from specific ranges. Having the radar on allows the dots to render from further out. Your radar does not have to be looking at the dot for it to increase the range at which it will render.
It's not just that, sometimes they just straight up don't render even with it on I remember when the f4 got added and youd see dots taking off from the other runway If you turned the radar off theyd all dissappear ☠️
If an ally has a radar on and he's near you it the game renders the enemy too. At least that's the conclusion I got after many games of having invisible enemies apear when i turn my radar on for a few seconds, while in some other games keeping my radar off the game would still render enemies far away.
If you go in local replays, the dots appearing coincides with the server revealing the enemy's position to your client. IIRC there is a fixed range for each aircraft, ex: small props show around 10km while bombers are seen much farther (BV238 is visible from across the map) When you search with the radar or activate an order, it forces the server to reveal their position, so it reveals the dot regardless of range It's a bad spaghetti code attempt at an anti-cheat. The need to rework dots so they are purely tied to visual identification ranges, and they shouldn't show through clouds
@@KekusMagnus ^this this behavior is intended to circumvent the effectiveness ESP cheats. if your client is rendering the dots of the enemy, your client knows their position and ESP cheats can exploit this. if the client only receives the location information of planes that can actually be spotted by the player, whether they be within visual range or radar detection range, the location information of players outside this range can't be accessed by ESP cheats because the server hasn't provided that information to the client.

Literally, if I wouldn't have heard that from you today, tomorrow I would've gone mad. Thank you.

I am a ground rb player but I have been grinding the modules on the swiss f58 hunter because I wanted the air ground missles and since I am watching your videos I got much better in air rb! most of the games I get 2-3 kills before it was 0-1 so thank you very much! PS: can we maybe get a video of you playing tanks with OddBawz?

@@interpl6089 not at all mate, it was a bug that is currently patched if u check the game. in my case i have my crew on ACE in almost every plane i use and the max range i had to spot someone (till 1h ago when it was fixed) was only 5km and i couldnt see what my team was spoting, i hope the message is clear bcs english its not my main lenguage
@@DEFYNExcept it's really not, at least when it comes to top tier and bvr, because it only shows up when the missile detonates and sometimes seems to show up for missiles that were never going for you. A half decent bvr pilot will know to turn in far before the "missile evasion" message shows up. Maybe it would be useful at lower tiers with sparrows that detonate when they lose guidance for 0.000005 seconds but at least for me at top tier grinding for the f15e they are a distraction at best.
@@Vesperninja I would still prefer that as a "heads-up", since it is better for me to know which missile will never be able to harm me whatsoever. But since there are players that consider this change as excessive after all, maybe Gaijin should add an option to disable this UI.
For the record DEFYN when you killed me at 12:45 I knew you were there I just didn’t know whether you shot a Radar or IR missile at me and didn’t get enough flares in the air in time
It's just a shame that the rear facing radar is nonfunctional. IRL the Hellduck can fire an R73 at a target behind it without turning, or use the rear radar for datalink guiding a missile while flying away.
Yes having seen how heavy the flight model is I now understand why it’s 12.7 in ground vs the Tornado gr4 at 12.3 because obviously the gr4 hellfail brimshite missiles even it out nicely. Sigh

There are a lot of top tier aircraft that I am happy to fly on the condition that the airspace is uncontested. So basically I like them, but will never use them.

I dont know what happened to AirRB but when I played today I saw Mig 23´s and for some reason a second later i got a missle marker at 100m distance just using Instant Transmission. I saw no Rocket Launch whatsoever but the next second was like here get missled bitch
Well i found there is a bug that you can not see targets which detacted by your teammates .Sometimes I saw the little black dot in the air but can not sopt it ,and I can't see the enemy who is fighting my teammates.
Can you nail enemy players with the kh38MT i think it is. The one with the head that is used to see Thermal vision. Can those lock onto enemy and get sone kills for shits and giggles? Like the AGM-65 where you can lock ont enemy with it. I use the Ayit and got kills with them but its gotta work with a Russian Kh38 id the Agm-65 do.
Is it just me or are missles not locking properly? Most of my radar missles F off to wherever they want even tthough its locked on target. Radars breaking lock even though your still head on. IR missles wont lock half the time.....this on top of the spotting issue is really doing my head in

It's 10km for people with Ace Crews. Basic (with full vision upgrades) is like 3-4km.
