Ah yes, been waiting, well worth the wait, and very glad to see you!
Absolutely true, and you are correct as writer's, our characters are points of ourselves, and with a dash of the unknown they themselves develop.
I was talking about this kind of thing the other week, something similar, I believe in, which is, it's no wonder writer's don't go crazy, we hold the personalities of hundreds of thousands of people in our minds, with blank bodies in the warehouse that come down a conveyor belt and as they are created joined by spirit, personality, and body, they're placed where we need them...all these personalities, no wonder most writers like their solitude, I do, and we're never alone...lol.
I appreciate your channel and the time you take, Thank You Damon.

Always good to hear from you @dadtype2339. And to hear your views.
One thought: it's not the writers who are crazy. It's everyone else. But the world is a very big place and requires all kinds to keep moving.
"The old order changeth yielding place to new And God fulfills himself in many ways Lest one good custom should corrupt the world."
      Alfred Lord Tennyson
      Be well, my friend.

I agree, and I misspoke, when I said it's a wonder we don't go crazy, and although I mean that partly with respectful humor, some of us have found a way into the ditch of problems and mental disturbance, crazy isn't a very good word for that, but I know you knew what I meant.
I think as writers, we all have dark shadows, within a dark shadow that our characters nibble off of like a kind of piranha especially our dark characters. We also can make people we wish we could be.
I once was jealous of a character I created wish my life was better like my characters' life was, now that could mean I may want to look into some help, OR my writing has gotten a lot better as I had never had that before...in truth it's just one aspect of my own life I wish was better. I'm sure you understand what I mean.
Again I thank you and enjoy our exploratory colloquium. And just as soon as I can, I'll sign up to do your class. I love workshops, they help us become better writers.

Thanks Damon for your words of encouragement especially in relation to fear as I just began the 'Break Your Story' course (the immediate problem I'm confronted with is which story? I've made starts over the past 10 years on 4, including one about my life...yikes!). A daily habit I shall now develop and I'm excited about incorporating an old Remington Rand into my routine, I found it in a charity shop in Scotland and had it restored. Much gratitude once again from NE England.

@melaniehowd2331. First, thanks for ordering the course and please let me know if you have any questions.
You haven’t asked my advice but if it were me and I had four stories started, I would ignore the one (for now) about my life. Too many pitfalls for the time being.
Writing about our own lives can be difficult under the best of circumstances. For now, I would steer clear of it.
Which one of the remaining three should you pursue? The one who’s ending you think you can see would be my choice. This will help you get a project completed, and upon which you can build skill needed for tackling the other three stories … and anything else that comes along.
Congrats on your Remington Rand… and for using it! May all that comes out of it pave the way for all the follows.
