I tried. I really did. For those saying this was easily to follow, I admire you, because I cannot look at the screen and look at my work at the same time. My limbs were all askew and off center, to the point that I ripped it all out and tried again. No dice. I thought a video tutorial would show what the pattern was saying, but apparently not, not for me anyway. I'll try again later, when my frustration level has gone down.
This was my lazy day off project today, love it! Thanks so much for the video to get through the tree - used your website free pattern for the rest of it. 🙂
Wish there was a way to post a picture so you can see what you inspired. Crocheted a beautiful mandala for a friend who was in tears over it! Thank you so much for sharing this!
Had to watch carefully and took me a couple hours but I got it! If the music bugs you, turn down the volume. This is definitely an intermediate pattern.
Thank you for the video! This is the prettiest tree of life pattern I have found, but there was no way I could do it by just reading the pattern! I still had to take out several times even with the video. I'm sure it will get easier as I do more, which I plan on doing. I feel like I still have some booboos in there.
Thank you so much! Yes this design is a little complex at first, but once you've done it a couple times the rhythm of it starts to make more sense :) :) I'm so glad you found the video helpful!
My daughter is going to love this as a gift! I just started crocheting and your video is so easy to follow. Thank you so much for creating this video. It so great to find crocheting designs that are current and different. I do want to put it on a hoop. What size should I purchase?
Hi Judy! I'm so glad you like the pattern, and great question! The hoop size for the full complete pattern (11 rounds - the video only covers 6) fits on a 14" hoop or possibly a 12" hoop (some people have found 14" hoops too small due to their gauge difference). I have put a 6-7 round Tree of Life on a 6" hoop for a cute mini version too!
Great question! I think it can be done in any yarn and look great - I've used stuff other than cotton and it's worked beautifully :) I do like the chunky gnarly look that this particular cotton (Lion Brand 24/7) gives it though!
Hi! I love this video! I am trying to make this pattern as the centrepiece of the lotus duster but am a little lost where/which round I should start from on the duster. Can you help advise please? Thank you! :)
Hi Tiffany, that's a great question! It's hard to tell without knowing what gauge / sizes you are working with for your pieces, but you'll probably want to look for an area where the two pieces are about the same size or where the stitch counts are similar so that you can move from one to the other without having to adjust the numbers too much. If I were to guess, I'd say leaving off on Round 11 of the Tree of Life Mandala pattern (the full pattern on my blog covers up to that round but not the video) and beginning to start the Lotus Duster at Rnd 13 after that would be a good place to try! :) Let me know how it goes!
@@MoraleFiber Hi Regina, I have tried so many times to make this work and just can't, I'm hopeless! The stitch count is different (obviously, and I'm not good at improvising with patterns) but not only that, as the design has a set position (being a tree), it's harder for me to position the armholes accurately, keeping the pattern central on all rounds and I'm trying to make it for a larger lady so it's proving to be quite the challenge! I might have to request if it's possible for you to do a Tree Of Life Duster tutorial/to purchase so I can follow it, I can't do it on my own! I was also wondering how I can make this (or the tree if we figure out the pattern) in a child's size? I have requests for two 4 year olds and a 5 year old girl and I think these patterns would be lovely but other than changing the yarn/hook size, I'm not sure how to make it smaller? For reference, the yarn requests are Caron Cakes, so relatively thick with 5mm hook. Thank you for your help! :)
Can anyone please tell me how I make the tree larger? The mandala now only fits in a 25cm ring and I want to put it in a 30cm ring. I can make the rounds larger, but I don't know how I can make the tree larger.
Hi Wendy! The easiest way to size up the tree would be to use a bigger yarn and hook, although I can't say for sure how big it would end up being - but you can always modify the inner rows for lesser or fewer depending on how big your hoop is :) I have seen a few people make the tree in bulky yarn with a larger hook (6.00 mm or so I think) and it looks quite nice!
I want to love this I really really do, but it’s a complicated pattern and needing to read, watch and crochet all at the same time makes my head hurt. I was really hoping for a voice over to clarify the pattern. I’m going to keep trying but it’s taken me 30 minutes just to get 13 minutes in.
Purchased the poncho pattern. Tried to follow the pictures. Came here, tried to follow the video. Nothing is helping. The placement of stitches is really not clear. The video is not helpful.

Thanks for the video, I just purchased the poncho pattern and I will book this video, so I can use it as a reference when I make the poncho.
Vielen Herzlichen Dank für das Video, so habe ich es auch geschafft ❤
Thank you for this pattern, easy to follow!
Thank you for sharing this.. Made two beautiful mandalas.

What an awesome mandala! Thank you so much!
That is brilliant, this is my weekend project I just hope it looks half as good as yours, thank-you very much xxx
Thank you sooo much! :) :) If you have any questions just let me know!
Thank you for the video would be lost without it.
Wonderful, thank you for the feedback! I know the written pattern is a real doozy so I'm very glad the video helped
Thanks so much Regina. Your video is such great help and clarificaction :-)
Aww yay! You are welcome!
Thank you! I just made one and your video was very easy to follow!
Thank you so much Lelia! I'm glad you enjoyed it :)

Love this pattern!
When I read the pattern I was just like...whut? But this video clarified a lot, thank you so much 🤗
Hooray! That was exactly my hope. The written pattern is a lot to deal with. lol!

Which row on the duster would I start with, after the border row from your blog, to make this into a duster?
Can the tree be done with malabrigo rios or does it need to be cotton to be sturdy?

En Español?
Not easy to follow and that music drives you crazy!
Lol, noted!
You can always mute the music since there's no words anyway. (or at least I haven't heard any words yet but I'm not finished watching all of it).
