I think what makes this game so scary is most of the time you arent looking for this stuff. You are just smashing pumpkins for fun and a black spirit comes out of one. You detonate a nuke on hybrid and find a secret room. This is the way psychological horror should be executed. Not forcing you into it immediatly. Instead it waits to use this stuff. Waits until you've gotten used to killing people everywhere. And takes advantage of that.
This game is truly terrifying. I maybe play the game for 1 hour or so and then I just feel so scared and nervous. It has the atmosphere of Garry's mod.

I'm kinda sad the square on blocks still hasn't been figured out. I actually started the steam discussion that "documented" the square, but I hadn't known about the text file until people started digging deeper. As to how I found it, I'm not entirely sure. I was genuinely screwing around on the map, since it's my favorite. I spawned in a ton of those energy vessel explosives, detonated them, and I suppose the explosions flung debris into the block, disconnecting it. After that, it was a bunch of looking around and blowing up the map until I noticed the explosion marks were different in one area. The square is level with the surface of the other side of that "wall". Think of it as two rectangles; a floor stretching across the entire structure, and then a wall. At that seam, you can find the square. Personally, I found spawning in some props behind the block to be most efficient. I checked the discord some time after the steam discussion started to gain some attention, and it was there that I believe people found out about the text file. Just to clear some things up, I don't believe the alarm is significant outside of just to be an alarm. I haven't touched People Playground in months, so if anyone can update me on any findings I haven't heard about since I discovered the square, that'd be nice.
In the text file, you can convert the characters into some sort of code. This code is a key to access the image when you enter the code in the keypad, which can be found by viewing the video in the TV with the circle. It hints at the circumference, which is actually the code. The image is a blueprint for a device, which is the machine that gets you to the long hallway. In that long hallway, there should be a glowing TV (or radio).
As for the keypad stuff where you turn the jpeg into text, remove some text, and turn it back into a jpeg, I think you put the new image into a spectrogram or something, which reveals blueprints for a portal you can build in-game. Building and activating said portal gives you the “uncharted territory” achievement, as well as teleporting you into a dark hallway with an ominous siren
also I remember seeing something on Reddit about multiple people hearing the audio recording of a kid getting crushed by an elevator or something like that. I don’t remember much derails tho. I absolutely love devs who spend a lot of time on secrets that almost no casual players will see/realise
The more you think about the game the more horrible it becomes. In my opinion the worst part is that even though you play god, there are still thing you don’t understand, that are outside your limits. You can spawn everything you want and do anything with it, but you aren’t able to understand what is up with the 3D pipes, the weird images, the machines that teleport you. I would love it if the devs keep expanding on the lore because this game has amazing potential for it.
It would be interesting if devs after some time would add map that would be placed outside, like in real world, ofc with hidden things on that map saying "something gone wrong..."

DUDE I was just playing with a really complex infection mod seeing how far a virus could spread, one of the buildings had a tv in it, I turn it on and it plays vhs ass white noise with 0101 on the screen. It’s 2 in the morning and I freak out, immediately close the game and then hard shutoff my pc, my ass is in bed now watching Netflix trying to distract myself. I have over a thousand hours on ppg and this is the first time it’s ever happened to me. I feel like I’m being watched and I’m freaking out rn as I’m typing this message. Paranoia is at an all time high rn. Note: I scare easily when it come to digital media.
I think it might be connected to the portal test chambers, it even has a lot of stuff from portal like the aerial faith plate, the turret (with the old one being directly taken from portal), the grey metal tiles, the viewing room and the small chambers in substructure, the large weird testing chambers with no real purpose, and just the whole messing about with no real goal thing.
There is also an Easter egg where the song Machiavellian Bach will play on the Humongous map. This song was used in Portal 2, while (SPOILERS): Wheatley is reading books in a test chamber I do not remember the number of, in Chapter 8.
This game creates a sense of security that I can put all my intrusive thoughts into action without any repercussion in the real world while still putting enough gore and “realism” to were I’m relieved of my psychopathic tendencies and continue my daily life without killing anybody. Truly, thank you Mestiez.
the tile that you can remove has a image in the back and once you do some out of game stuff it gives a blueprint for a machine that you build in game. when you build it and use it it makes a portal that takes you some where outside the facility, or outside the room you were in and you hear alarms along with flashing red lights to my knowledge you can still make the machine but it doesn't work anymore
the panel lead to a discord invite, the discord invite led to a bunch of text that once converted into a mp3 file sounded like gibberish, but doing some weird magic with that gibberish, which i still dont understand, the sound waves will look like blueprints, blueprints for 6:45, a contraption known as the poortvoormer it takes you to uncharted territory (the literal name of the map and achievement) creating a black hole in this map used to remove the walls and background of the map, turning it into a map similar to void but this doesnt work in the current version. apparently poortvormer translates to gate former. at the end of the hallway, there are 2 radios that are extremely realistic looking and dont react like proper objects. in the map "blocks" there used to be something called "wormhole2" located on one of the blocks it was somewhat stuck to the wall unless you dislodged it using any object against it. it didnt look like anything special, just looked like a bunch of random blue pixels

i also found a secret small dark room on substructure map when i started spamming bombs to light the whole map, some things set on fire and some bombs fell into this room, i couldnt really see how big it really was as any light wasnt working there

you can get the smart spawner (mod), and enable advanced mode and in the description of the mod there is a list of all the items in the game and you can spawn those in like i said with advanced mode edit: same with particles and you can also "spawn" the long hallway map
Man when i got to the hallway the tv kept showing some random stuff like some hastags and zeros if i remember right i also had a mod with a tv i could change the channel it kept showing me horror stuff instead of the normal classic tv channel about some reactors The game is getting more creepy as you dig more and when you get to the last point the game will show its real form
4:15 if the block falls into a decimator tat is active it will disappear and it won't kick you. Also for finding the block it is a good strategy to spawn stuff inside the block so it teleports to the hole in the wall next to the block.
I think inverse teleportation is where the player found out a way to teleport things from the real world (the lab) into the playground, and soon enough the player finds a way to teleport themselves into the lab, which is uncharted territory
Theres more to the game than meets the eye. And who knows, maybe, these secrets aren't even a quarter of whats hiding. I hope the developer get more mysterious with this.
Honestly People playground's secrets are a clear indicator that there was some planned "lore" or ARG but it seems the creator gave up halfway and handwaved everything by saying there wasnt any lore to begin with, also removing secrets as the updates went on. Its a shame, there was some groundwork for some good stuff here. At least we still have a good sandbox.

It's strange. I remember first opening People playground and I was on a map I called "THEY ARE WATCHING" map. I called it that because there was a kinda bloody, but not so drippy red text on the right part of the map. There were 2 toilet stalls ( I am not english ) integrated in the background and they were closed. I killed some people and I got bored, so I alt f4-ed. Then I was being judged by the game. I couldn't leave so I was forced to stay and see what happens. The game showed some graphic photos of the people I just have killed and said something, then I got kicked.
One time I was playing this game home alone. Its just some sandbox murder game I thought... Oh boy was I wrong. I was in the middle of a game on the Tower map a year or two back, then I literally heard a sound effect of some otherworldly creature screaming absolute bloody murder. Lets just say I never left the safety of my bed that day.

Lots of things from the carelessness in harming people, the ominous ambience to even the colour of the wall tiles gives me similar vibes to portal.
As someone who has made a people playground lore video i can definatly say this is very underrated , earned a sub keep it up lad.

Man when i got to the hallway the tv kept showing some random stuff like some hastags and zeros if i remember right i also had a mod with a tv i could change the channel it kept showing me horror stuff instead of the normal classic tv channel about some reactors The game is getting more creepy as you dig more and when you get to the last point the game will show its real form

4:15 if the block falls into a decimator tat is active it will disappear and it won't kick you. Also for finding the block it is a good strategy to spawn stuff inside the block so it teleports to the hole in the wall next to the block.

I think inverse teleportation is where the player found out a way to teleport things from the real world (the lab) into the playground, and soon enough the player finds a way to teleport themselves into the lab, which is uncharted territory
There used to be music playing sometimes I don’t know if its still there but it scared the shit out of me also there were screams

Theres more to the game than meets the eye. And who knows, maybe, these secrets aren't even a quarter of whats hiding. I hope the developer get more mysterious with this.

Honestly People playground's secrets are a clear indicator that there was some planned "lore" or ARG but it seems the creator gave up halfway and handwaved everything by saying there wasnt any lore to begin with, also removing secrets as the updates went on.
Its a shame, there was some groundwork for some good stuff here. At least we still have a good sandbox.

It's strange. I remember first opening People playground and I was on a map I called "THEY ARE WATCHING" map. I called it that because there was a kinda bloody, but not so drippy red text on the right part of the map. There were 2 toilet stalls ( I am not english ) integrated in the background and they were closed. I killed some people and I got bored, so I alt f4-ed. Then I was being judged by the game. I couldn't leave so I was forced to stay and see what happens. The game showed some graphic photos of the people I just have killed and said something, then I got kicked.

One time I was playing this game home alone. Its just some sandbox murder game I thought... Oh boy was I wrong. I was in the middle of a game on the Tower map a year or two back, then I literally heard a sound effect of some otherworldly creature screaming absolute bloody murder. Lets just say I never left the safety of my bed that day.
