North Adams Rail Yard Hoosac Valley Train Ride

Calling all Railfans! We took a ride on the Berkshire Scenic Railway thru the Hoosac Valley in Adams and it was my first train ride, yes! Our afternoon included a half hour trip to the Ash Track Yard to tour the antique cars being restored. We passed the beautiful Renfrew Passenger Station built in 1880, Paddy Row (Irish immigrant housing, the Hoosac Valley Coal & Grain Co, Specialty Minerals Inc, Southview Cemetery and more seeing the history of Adams and North Adams. The yard has great antiques including engines, a caboose, dining car and a baggage car.
