I love your simmer pot. I remember you did one last year and I copied your idea and loved it! What type crock pot is yours with the B?
A few years back I started to think I wasn’t doing enough to keep up with my housework. I began keeping a weekly ‘general tidy to do list’ with boxes to check off when completed. Things like vacuum, dust, trash… etc. the list is 15 items that are things I do instinctively but hadn’t given credit to. Giving credit to them gives value to me 😊
I LOVE this!
Sometimes I’ll make a checklist that includes stuff I’ve already accomplished. I am working on not associating my completed to do list with my self-worth

When we host company all our routines go out the window!! We try to focus on our guests and give ourselves a break!! I think it is more important to spend time with our company whom we don’t get to see as often as we would like too!!🥰

When I was a child, my favorite Christmas movie was Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer. I made it a tradition to watch it with all of my children every year on Thanksgiving.

I know sometimes I feel overwhelmed too with trying to get things done around my house. I have been retired fora year and since then I have been trying to get things done that I couldn’t get done when I was working full time. This Christmas I’m trying to just enjoy the season and not stress about things. You have a great family that will help you get thru those times. You’re doing great Amanda! Thank for the motivation!😊
When we have visitors I tend to do a quick wipe over of the bathroom and loo on a daily basis. I leave the dusting until they have gone and will usually vacuum the kitchen area as well. Spending time with visitors is my calm.

When it comes to decorating for Christmas I always brought up all the bins. Not any more. I put up tree. Then I go back to the basement for the tree decorations. All the Christmas bins I put by the stairs. Once that is done I take up another bin etc. etc. one bin up one bin down to the basement. All bins I put by the stairs. My mind and house stays neat. It may be a little more work but it makes me feel better. I’m 75 and I love to decorate for the holidays. Wishing you all a wonderful Christmas season and a Happy New Year.
It always feels as soon as you finish one part of the house you have to start on it again. It’s a never ending job.

Yes! I vacuum my furniture. It’s the fastest way to remove pet hair.
I would just do my upkeep as usual. They won't mind I don't feel. It's perfectly fine. It's weird not to do my normal routine if someone's over. My friends learn stuff from my routine when they watch me. You can still talk or watch TV/radio /podcast. Just be yourself. Do your thing, girl. 😊💜 oh, LOVE the decluttering your doing.

I brought my Christmas tree and ornament boxes, nine total, out of storage over the Thanksgiving weekend. Your decluttering your decor got me started on my own Christmas stuff. I downsized down to four boxes and everything else is either going to be given to family or donated! Thanks for the inspiration and I also bought the Caldrea Orange Blossom countertop cleaner! When i was a kid my grandpa would put on a rerun of the Christmas story. Over and over again... like the entire month. Every time he didnt have something to watch that was on... all day. I watch it with my kids a couple times but i dont do what he does. Lol

you are so right about the stress. My husband is really good about helping me calm down and take a more objective look at things. Mine is mostly about presents, and getting them wrapped. Ugh! as you said it truly steals my joy.
Girl, you don't even need make up. You just have that natural beauty. You look beautiful with makeup or without. You are just beautiful inside and out now. Me, on the other hand at 1130 no make up. I'm gonna be looking like Corella de ville LO. L.

Here'e a tip for you, get a large basket, nothing expense just a simple large basket and every night walk thru your house and put everything into your basket and then place it in your kitchen before you retire for the night. In the morning after coffee of course, take that basket and put everything away. I taught this to my sister when she had her busy life with 3 teenage boys at home, they're all adults now, but it really helped her to keep the mess under control. When things start getting tedious of doing the same things of getting stuff done around the house day after day I just try to remember who I am cleaning the house for or ironing clothes for or doing laundry for. It helps me so much to do those things and I feel I am giving service to those around me and makes it easier to get that certain thing done. ❄️
Thanks for the inspo! I'm a junior high school teacher but before that, I was a stay at home mom and I would often feel overwhelmed that I wasn't doing enough and I had to remind myself that every little thing is a blessing to my home and family! Keep up the great work! :)

I am one of your senior viewers and I have 2 favorite Christmas movies. The black and white version of Miricle on 34th Street and the old Bing Crosby White Chistmas in colour. I am sure there are many newer films too, but I like the oldies ❤❤❤
I just ordered some of the Bloom Christmas towels. It’s kind of nice to see them on your channel vs. the website because, for whatever reason, you get a better view of what they actually look like & now I feel better about the ones I picked 🤓. I think we all go through those stages of self doubt, I know I do on a regular basis. I hope you know how many people you are helping just by being open and talking about your issues - helps everyone feel less alone in their struggles. When I manage to get an area reset, or really clean and organized, in my house I feel so encouraged and uplifted that I did it for me & I think there is such a sense peace of pride.

I have 3 dogs that shed so much. I have to vacuum every day. I just dust and mop once a week. Every day I also keep the house picked up. I wish I could have your desk. It’s beautiful.
It looks like you have a full time job at home! But it's really good to see that you seem to able to tackle things in an organized way that makes it interesting to watch.
We watch Elf every year, and it’s our favorite! We also like the Home Alone and Santa Clause series. Growing up we watched Prancer every year, because it was my Mom’s favorite.
Sticking to routines with any slight change to normal life is tricky ie family visiting, when someone is ill, over the festive season. I’ve just learnt to not be too hard on myself if everything’s not clean, tidy and perfect…, but it’s hard.

Brings back such WONDERFUL memories of holidays when she was with us! Of course multiple others as well, but the above ones are NEVER missed during the Christmas season❤💚

Thanksgiving was great this year. It was just going to be my husband and I, but our old friend who lives in Mexico showed up to spend the holidays with us. I made the traditional Thanksgiving meal completely from scratch, and our friend who is a professional level 2 chef absolutely raved about the entire meal as did my husband. Our guest is still here and planning on staying until Wednesday. He said the meal was so good he wants to come back at Christmas so I can cook for him again. Such high praise.

I get myself SO overwhelmed sometimes but I am truly blessed for all that I have and the family around me. I had a wonderful Thanksgiving! We had about 50 people in our home this year 😊 Though I got a bit stressed and overwhelmed, this was another moment I am grateful for 😍 Sharing a meal with family and friends and everyone enjoying themselves made for a perfect day! Over the years I have learned to treat myself to a slower pace Christmas and relax and if it gets done good and if not next year!! I start my shopping earlier, instead of waiting for sales at the last minute. Saved stressed is more important then saved money. As a retired daycare provider my favorite movies for this loved filled season are Home Alone (of course), The Nativity, The Grinch Who Stole Christmas, ☺️ and a recent favorite, Angela's Christmas. Enjoyed the music very much on this video !!

I've been cleaning and decluttering all month. I plan to do one more clean before Christmas day. I volunteer at at animal shelter two days a week and drive an hour and a half once a week to see our grandbabies. This year has flown by!

I watched your vlog after working and like you I do not have a household help, I do overthink and get stressed when I am unable to finish task I planned. To stop myself from making me stressed out I will just do what I can do. Cleaning is not the end of all the chores as it happens daily. I am very grateful for having a nice relaxing Thanksgiving with just my hubby and two fur babies! We didn't get the well pump fixed until Friday; so very thankful for running water and being able to do the dishes and laundry and shower 🙂

My kids have been loving Fred Claus.
I generally keep up with a daily schedule every day. My bedroom first then room to room. Pets next,etc. With guests staying..I expect them to pick up after themselves to help me out. Or they will help me while they're staying with me.
For 30 years My husband and I always hosted Christmas and had a lot of people stay for 3 or 4 days, I always did the housework with them there. Most of the time they helped, so no problem. However never use your guest room as a dumping ground for stuff, it becomes a very bad habit and very difficult to break. I find that if you cannot find a permanent place for it, it has to go, because you have way too much stuff. Saying that, Have a great Christmas with your family.

I think you look sweet without makeup! I stay on top of my routines when I have company and even when I'm visiting my family. No matter where I am I have a bed to make, clothes to put away a bathroom counter to tidy up, and kitchen counters to wipe down, so I keep doing those things even at someone else's house. I find it much too difficult to get back in the game if I stop for even a week. When I was visiting my son last week he said "Ma, you don't have to clear all your things out of the bathroom every day, it's yours while you're here". I told him that it just keeps me in the routine of maintaining my space.
Hi Amanda I just wanted to say that you are not alone in overwhelm and anxiety. I have it so bad myself. I feel like I am finally at a point in my decluttering journey that everything in my house is supposed to be here. I’ve never been the kind of person to hang on to a lot but I still had stuff I thought I needed and listening to Dawn from the minimal mom and Dana K white I’ve learned so much. I also have a basement that I dread doing because it’s a big space but it’s a work in progress and I’ve been slowly getting it done. I do think we put so much on our plates especially this time of year. It’s something we have to just slow down and think about what we are doing. I think sometimes we get caught up in wanting everything everyone else has and that is something I’m working on. I love these slow cozy videos you make. ❤

You will, give yourself grace. It’s just my husband and I we don’t have kids. It’s different when you have to keep track of more people. We have a 2200 square foot house but it’s comfortable for us. I love this big space. I know it can get overwhelming because it is big but I think about all the reasons I wanted this house. You absolutely have a gorgeous home and family. ❤

I know what you mean by putting the stress of the holidays on ourselves. I've been watching Christmas movies all week and enjoying the simplicity of Christmas bc those Hallmark movies are so cheesy but sure do make me feel like celebrating and having fun 💜💙💚💛🧡

I had relatives visiting in August when we also had renovations going on. They stayed at hotel for two nights and were gonna leave, but their vehicle messed up and they had to stay with us for the next three nights. We didn’t understand why they didn’t stay at hotel those nights. We were redoing our living room floor and our house was a mess, dust everywhere. We had to keep them company while work was going on. I was so stressed out. I bet it’s HOME ALONE.

I suffer from SAD and it might be similar to what you call overwhelmed. Some days I just cry and then I’m better for a little while. I do the little crock pot with Christmas scents as well. I do orange peel, cloves and cinnamon. It really is a good way to enjoy the holiday aroma. Our Thanksgiving was really nice! Simple and calm but very nice.
