    Honestly, Minehut itself isnt that bad in concept. Giving players the means to be able to create ideas and turn them into servers easily is really good- the problem is the implementation and the amount of monetization in the space.

    10:36 a similar thing happens on the server diamondfire. You get a certain area of land(50x50, 100x100) and you can build in it, set the spawn. Next to it you have an area in which you can place blocks that act as code, so you can make your own game. To promote the plot, buy a plot, or buy blocks to code with, you need to get tokens. To get them, you have to play games

  • @plumper303
    @plumper303 Год назад +61

    I think the most ideal version of this already exists, and I can say is pretty interesting. There's a server called Diamond Fire, which you might have heard of, and instead of having people host a server through a server panel and add plugins, it has an in-game coding system which is quite intuitive and even fun. Plus, many of the servers at the top of the list are genuinely unique and creative and have had decent effort put into them. The only downside is that they require you to pay for some things, but for what the server is, it's entirely reasonable, and I even wanted to support them. Your "server" is actually a square plot where you can build and an area for your lines of code on the side. You have to pay if you want to get more plots and ones of bigger sizes, as well as some more specialized commands, but you can still make relatively cool things with the things they offer for free. In fact, many games which didn't seem to be paid for at all and had effort put into them were at the top of the featured list. It has a great community, and the only thing that seems to be lacking is the limited space, which is unfriendly to open-world games, and survival-type servers. It's a good example, though, of how video games can produce good things at times, even if they include paid aspects!

      This is a good suggestion until you realize that DF and MH serve different purposes. DF allows players to make their own unique games with their own coding system, whereas MH gives players the base for a server and tells them "go wild." Coders on DF want to make their own games, while admins on MH want to make their own servers.

    • @notLinode
      @notLinode Год назад +1

      Idk why Epic didn't mention it, but Minehut has a coding system as well. It's called "Skript". I don't know much about it, but what I do know is that it allows you to make custom plugins for your server. The language is really intuitive and obviously easier than Java.

      @@kotykd6212 Do.

    • @plumper303
      @plumper303 Год назад +3

      @@Slymeball Agreed. They are used for quite different things. Free server-hosters like this have one extra step-up on DF in the fact that one: they have an open world and much more space, two: they allow lots more customizability, and three: they allow created things to be much larger and connect with one another. I think each of these things are in generally about 10% of unique server ideas people might have (this estimation might be false, and probably is), so, while DF has these faults, for 90% of those ideas they could be created pretty adequately within it, or at least restricted a small amount to make it work. That’s probably the main problem with DF in that a sizeable portion of possibilities are not met. The majority is still possible, though, and ideas can still be developed effectively. DF can get most aspects generally but not all the time specifically, and in some of the minority of circumstances, not at all. There definitely needs to be something like DF that goes into the server-hosting realm so that more people have access to full capabilities, but, for now, I’m just happy that 90% of my ideas have a friendly place to go. :)
      I 100% agree with your assessment, though. This is just my analysis of the subject. 😊

I prefer anarchy servers, I'm usually trying to find ones that aren't advertised but seem really fun for days when I'm not able to play on 2b2t. I've browsed all sorts of stuff, and I'll be honest, the normal servers get the most ads, which I find quite sad. Smaller servers really need a chance to shine, so while Minehut would help in concept, it doesn't help, especcially with external server advertisements

    1. Pay to win features: Keep inventory (on box servers in particular), overpowered gear, instant mine tools
    2. Gen servers do new seasons too often + players who donated dont reset all the way. (worked my way up to baltop 25, planning a factory style build. new season happens and im back to square 1.)

It was many years ago, but I made a server called like SkyPvP or something like that and had 20 consecutive players (max per server at the time) during all hours of the day. It was pretty much where you would jump from island to island collecting resources and then use those resources to by better pvp items to kill more players and I have a leaderboards and secret items and weapons and all that stuff. Afterwards, so many servers started doing the same thing. But then because Minehut was so unsecure and a guy came on and just annihilated the server and absolutely destroyed it. Minehut is a scam. Recently we have switched to Apex hosting, and it made me finally realize how bad minehut actually is. Some friends and I have a large server (going for a few years) that we cannot play anymore because the performance is so bad. We spend a lot of money buying a better server plan, but it did nothing since it only purchased extra RAM, not storage space, so our world was too big to run. We still did not learn from that though. We wanted to upgrade a different server, and there was an 80% off sale, it was such a good deal, so we bought the credits for the sale. (keep in mind, this is being advertised in big print everywhere, even when you are on your own server, it is advertised in your chat), only to learn, after we bought the credits (non-refundable) that the sale was only for NEW servers no existing ones, so again we wasted money. With all the money we spent, we might as well have made our own server on a dedicated PC. Don't use minehut. We switched to apex hosting and are paying 30/month for a modded server always online. That is not possible and would be about 3-4x more expensive with minehut.

    Hi there,
    I'm reaching out as the owner of "Liweth," an RPG Minecraft server with a focus on territory fights, item/gem crafting, bosses, quests, and a unique skills system. We believe these features could make for an engaging review on your channel.
    Our server has been well-received for its immersive gameplay and the depth of features like territory fights, intricate item and gem crafting systems, challenging bosses, interactive quests, and a diverse range of skills.
    If you're interested in exploring and potentially reviewing Liweth, I'd be glad to provide more information or arrange a tour to showcase what makes our server distinct and exciting.
    Thanks for considering!

    I remember back in like 2021 when minehut would have genuine servers at the top (i host a server which once reached 1st on the list with ~100 players back then) and would have actually enjoyable servers, now it seems that minehut mostly cares about money and doesn't want to deal with the big issues (like people using bots to advertise servers in the lobby which is against the rules yet they dont care, or the fact minehut goes down frequently) its also really sad how all the good servers got overshadowed by the effortless cashgrabs which fill up the top server list, making it almost impossible to grow a server. Minehut really is just a breeding ground for scummy people who want to make quick cash from gullible children.

    Some years ago, I started playing on a server hosted on minehut, it was called "10". The idea of the server was that every 10 seconds you would either get a dirt block or a cobble block, and with that and only that, in the middle of the void, you could craft a large list of items through custom recipes (a sappling from dirt, etc). Needless to say, i've never seen that idea on any other server or minigame ever (excluding those unoriginal servers where you can get any single item), and I think "10" only existed because of how easy it is to create a server on Minehut and make any idea come true. To my knowledge, this "10" server ended a long time ago, but it was one of the most entertaining activities I had back then.

    The ads for what I can remember where recent being add months ago. Also the little guys get suffer from burn out making something custom as don’t get out there not making them enough money to push further as the places are done by people with little experience making it difficult for them with also not having the time to put into it. As big servers know that minehut has a young player base (letting bedrock players join) so they know they don’t have to do much to hook players in as it’s easy to pick up and is on top. (I have no idea if that was coherent at all just wanted to get my opinion out).

    I used to play a server simply called “dupe” and you got a random item every minute but could /dupe to dupe the item in your hand. It was just maxed pvp, but it reset once and there was a rush to get things like mending, since enchanted books weren’t in the drop table, and no mobs spawned, including villagers. The only way to get mending was from fishing. It took a week for the first mending book to appear.

    After a bit of digging in my downloads folder, I found a (fairly old) txt file that contains a bit of information about the CPU. Not sure if this applies to all servers/tiers!
    From the txt it appears that the servers are running on a AMD EPYC 7502P CPU, with a base clock of 2.5GHz boosting up to 3.35GHz. They also seem to be equipped with ~256GiB of RAM.
    Although the txt doesn't list the RAM's clock speed, the maximum clock speed should be 3200MHz.
    Edit: This file is from September 2021, for anyone curious

    Here's what I want
    #BringBackWaitOutTheNight
    #MakeSurvivalMinecraftSurvivalAgain
    Yeah, Minecraft is great how it is now but we still are missing one of it's key, core elements, survival. You need that balance between infinite creativity and an actual challenge, the actual adrenaline rush and dopamine. Nowadays you can only really find that with mods or in SMP's where the only threat can be other players (or if you spawn in a massive desert biome which no village or temple anywhere near). Mojang can make mobs slightly faster or stronger, give them more health or make them require less absence of light to spawn so they can spawn more frequently in slightly more illuminated areas. They can and in my personal opinion absolutely should make certain resources and structures exceedingly more rare.
    Again
    #BringBackWaitOutTheNight
    #MakeSurvivalMinecraftSurvivalAgain

    This screams Roblox to me, a genuinely useful engine that is incredibly accessible and quite user-friendly. But due to mismanagement most front page games end up as simulators that are basically the farming games in Minehut servers. There are some genuine hidden gems in there made by people who are passionate about what they make, but they get drowned out by the sheer abundance of shitty copy and paste game modes made by developers who just want money.,

I almost actually got a trident from the custom villager trades(villagers and emeralds are kinda insane hard to get. And even harder to keep safe since theres a 200 border.), but it reset and went down for a whole month. Which made me bummed out.

    oh, it's all incremental games?
    I used to play a server called LattyCraft Miners, which was a similar gamemode of mining and selling progressive resources to rank up through the classic "A to Z" prison server ranks. This server had the mechanic i would come to know as prestige, where you would play though this game multiple times with increasing perks, each time getting faster and faster. It's really cool how this style of game can flourish on minehut due to the very small barrier for entry, and this surely means more well-designed experiences are on the way soon.

    As a long time minehut member, thiis video is very appreciated, because this is not how minehut used to be.
    In fact it used to be a better place for creators and server developers to come make their own servers and enjoy having a private server for them and their friends. But greed takes over and you have what minehut is now today.
    Just another corporate entity tagging along to make money, and the servers inside following suit.
    I've used and even made minehut servers and it was a great time I've made good friends here and I probably will still use it. However I completely with the topic discussed today.

    I remeber old minehut. it was really good, most things were free and it was run through ads that were in the lobby and on the website. almost no server that were pay to win (or if it was, it wasn't as shoveded in your face). I used to run a server on there that was RPG (a little like wynn craft but on a much smaller bases) based running only 10~20 players daily with 3~5 of them being staff member but it didn't really matter as we were having fun in this server we made after spending lots of time and like $6 max for a plugin. then that had a massive hacking incident and my server got deleted, I couldn't be bothered recreating everything from scratch and again and closed it, rejoin 3~5 years later and this is what minehut had become something that I couldn't even get more then 1GB of ram with out paying.

    I personally just decided to buy a used workstation PC for $300, and use that to host my servers. I can run multiple servers for MC and any other game simultaneously. The upside for me though, is that I host personal servers, played between me and friends across different games. Each MC server doesnt run more than 10 people at any given point, so I dont need crazy hardware, and the ability to set up new servers for different games whenever I want is worth the cost. It might save me money in the long term, instead of a monthly cost, but it is a much higher bar to entry. If you are trying to start a massive online server though, I do not recommend doing this. It is great for small groups of friends, but if I tried to open this up to the public and host a "real" server, I could see the system being overwhelmed pretty quickly.

    As a minehut server creator and moderaor i'm here to awnser some questions.
    - External servers are brought to appear on minehut but are really hosted somewhere else. This is for the extra players from minehut ading, and people looking for a new server to play. Minehut supports external server especially meaning you can have external ips, and what not.
    - Also YES people bot.
    - Minehut has a history of c+p server "money grabs" are common.
    - Golf is an official minehut creation. Which was an event at one point which is why it didn't have many players.
