I think it was inevitable considering throughout season 1 Stolas gave Blitzo no reason to believe it was about more than sex. Remember that as seen in the first episode their arrangement started with Stolas coercing Blitzo when he wasn't really in a position to properly consent. Stolas does care about Blitzo and sincerely wants a relationship with him, but in the past he was only flirting with him and focused on sex even when Blitzo didn't like or want the flirting and talking down to him and actively referring to him as a plaything. He may have thought it was sweet talk and cute flirting, but he still never realized that to Blitzo it was coming across as condescending. His sincere and heartfelt moments seen by the audience were not really happening in front of Blitzo. Their relationship up until now was inherently unhealthy and exploitative because of the drastic power imbalance involved. So something like this was really necessary because it was the only way they'll have a shot at developing something more healthy in the future.
@@HaydenSoto Agreed. The sad truth is that neither of them knew how to have a healthy relationship with somebody and both of them handled things badly even though they both care for each other. Blitzo definitely does want a relationship with Stolas on some level but he's unable to understand the idea of somebody wanting anything to do with him without it being transactional or some sort of obligation and so he pushes everyone away out of misplaced defensiveness.
@@williamharmon4039 not only that stolas wants noting to do with his cruel wife since he was forced into that marriage since childhood and he's tying his best to be a good dad to Octavia he just doesn't know how to since his father wasn't exactly a good ideal father figure to him
I didn't even laugh when DHORKS sent those kids into the Hell portal and got them killed, I know that was supposed to be played off as a joke but that was just unnecessarily brutal! 😨😨😨
