I mean I wont slander the guys playing, he's much better than I and it's a great cover, but it's an odd choice to not play it in the key it is originally recorded in. I don't think its any easier or harder, but it just sounds...odd not being in Eb. Playing it in E gives it an upbeat timbre and it just sounds different, noticeably so. Still sounds great to my ear!

He can choose what ever key he wants to play in. Piano and music is not an exercise in dexterity. Otherwise a robot can play it or anybody who practices enough. This guys plays it with lovely musical interpretation and that is skill that is difficult to teach or acquire and most pianists will never develop it. It is the most important skill in music and what ultimately what matters most.
I loved it. You were creative with it. Nice and fluent. As far as people judging what key it's in..... I guess the original is in E-flat minor but so what. I learned this song 2 weeks ago and I absolutely refused to learn it and play it in E-flat minor because E-flat minor is a really weird awkward key especially for a song like this. I chose to learn it in the key of D minor. It really is all about whatever key an individual musician is comfortable playing it in, not about it having to be played in the exact same key as the record. Again, great job.
