- It's only 180 seconds before the waves grow in size, and they get ridiculously big by the end. I trick is to get as far ahead as you can before things get crazy. Then just struggle to survive.

The best part of this video has to be the calm commentary. Even as everything descends into madness, DF's response is a mild, "Uh... okay." lol Truly exceptional content.

technically speaking, this is pretty accurate for a world that's mostly submerged in water. The sheer sizes of waves would be staggering, even if it's been a hundred or thousand years
Depends on geological formations really. But according to what the game shows us, I doubt this js coastal waters...

What separates df from everyone else is this guy genuinely just has fun on games and enjoys what he is doing and he dedicates alot of time to make stupid shit happen but also to satisfy us because he doesnt half ass stuff, he just puts in the hard work and has fun while doing it, he also doesnt just do the most popular games and just try to use popular titles to get views he just has fun on anything, even small games that 95% of people never hear of but he makes it fun cause he actually has fun

As a programmer, I imagine procedural islands/sharks/puppies/etc get a little fucked when suddenly changing a variable they were spawned around. Also, this game needs puppies
This freaking alarm noise triggers me everytime it plays because I use it for my morning alarms as well. Always makes me briefly look at my phone in subtle panic. :D

My favorite part of DF’s content is that he either plays long enough to beat and break the game, or enough to watch the world burn as he tries. Always amusing
its so amazing how the glitched water becomes reslistic from time to time. Like creating barrels or breaking at the wavetops

It's funny how terrifying it is to look at those waves when the raft is a bit submerged or has a landmark island

Raft is one of those games that makes it easy for me to double-check that I really am Tritanomalous. (Tritanopia, colorblind regarding blue.)
I think I know what's going on with the fishing rod and the hook! I'm a noob game developer learning the whole coding thing, and I think what's happening is the condition for being able to cast is when you're on the water... so although visually the water is there, programmatically, the water is on an x,y,z plane. So the water visually is there for the x and the y, but as for the actual z coordinate, I imagine the programming logic reads something along the lines of: If the player_sprite is near water, enable_fishing = true; else enable_fishing = false. But the bug is that the z coordinate probably equals something like 100, and the waves are lifting your to 200 or 300 above that... so only when you're on the bottom of the wave swell is when the enable_fishing variable equals true.... same with the getting water in a cup etc.
I could be way off, but that's my theory. Fun shiz :)
That's about right from what I know playing raft, but the wrong direction - you can't fish underwater, and he's speeding a lot of time under the ocean level.
That said, the game will let you fish from several stories up.
